  • It just so happens that I have Aspergers too. To prove my statement, I say the following: I have difficulty with eye contact, strongly dislike changes in my environment, and the list could go on, but I only have so much room to say this. The good thing about being an Aspergian is the remarkable ability to do a task efficiently, and good attention to detail. Have you ever heard of a novel named "Look me in the Eye: My Life with Asperger's by John Elder Robison?

  • @twiggyguy I never have actually, thanks for commenting

  • I cant touch the inside of a sleeping bag material. theirs also a kidn of blanket that i cant touch eather. I was diagnosed with ASD, wehn i was 9, but had no ideah, that might be somthing other people deal with. I dont mind fleace, but the material inside a sleeping bag, or sometimes the meterial that heating blankets are made out of, or the blanket between the sheet, and comfertet. Its like nails on a chalkboard, if i touch it wiht my fingers, or toes.

  • Hi Robin, I was just diagnosed with Aspergers a month and a half ago. I am having a hard times coming to terms with this, and I am trying to convince myself that everything bad in my past was not my fault. I have always been slightly more attractive than average, and had a formidable intelligence; because of this my social disconnect was worsened. It is nice to know now why I am different. I think you're very pretty, I wish I could find a girl like you here in Washington...

  • Wow, brought tears to my eye, thank you for posting this.

I have an 8 year old Autistic son, we are father and son but also best friends.

Please watch my music video "I Speak In Colors"

its by David Leaming, that is my name.

    Thank you again

  • My son has ASD and this helped me understand so much. Thanks you

  • you are so right. I have Asperger"s and have make it though Highschool passing all grad exams. and two years of college i NOW have a AAS drgee in child development

  • Often many mental biological disorders are hard to distinguish. People confuse autism with social phobia or agoraphobia. The truth is all three are close related. Other than that autism does not always has fear as symptom but more confusing and (social) akwardness. Also autism in most cases (mostly very young) can never be cured. There are therapies and medicine for the other two. Still, I really believe ALL mental disorders can be cured by the right (Chinese) herbs, diet and therapies.

  • You seem like such a cool person :) if I met you, I'd definitely want to be your friend :)

  • Awsome video ^^ (Y) I have Autism and Psychosis and we are pretty similar =] x

  • wow, if I hadn't seen the title, I would never have guessed that you were autistic or abnormal in any way. You seem like an intelligent mature person. Congratulations :)

  • kudos from one fellow aspergian to another. :-)

  • thank you for posting this video, you give me strength

  • Great video! Even when I cant understand everything what you say. Anyway, its nice to hear there is other aspergers who can enjoy their lives middle of neurotypical people and who also like to be different.

  • @TheRobinRice Hey good job m8! I'm pretty sure I had or still have aspergers syndrome but I just don't really care to change, I have my friends whom love me even tho I enjoy being alone. I just enjoy being alone & I enjoy focusing on one subject I truly enjoy it :) I don't understand why autistic & aspergers people want to change so badly? To be normal? Why? When I first looked this syndrome up I was kind of surprised this was considered an illness...

  • that inner world sounds interesting.... Eastern philosophies teaches us there is an inner universe... Nietzsce craved loneliness and isolation to get in touch with himself, to realize his life more fully... I'm just rambling... got me thinking

  • Thank you so much for posting this video! My daughter is almost 14 and I think she is very much like you. You explain your experience very clearly- much better than I do when trying to explain how my daughter experiences the world to family.

  • @stonerjunky Also something a lot of people don't realize- lots of autistic people can fake eye contact wonderfully!

  • is the reason you're not blinking at all because of the autism?

  • yeah

  • thank you very much for posting this x

  • so what do you do if you are 19 years old and just found out that your "weird ways" has a name and its autism / aspergers, no friends, no one to tell that you have it because you dont feel like telling anyone. what to do now?

  • As a person with ausperger's i wanna tell you how i get to to my world. Heard of mmorgp's's? well they have the world set out.So i play a game that has a life easier than mine, but i build from it.

  • How old were you when you first spoke? I mean real words that is.

  • thank you so much for all the information. I don't feel quite so lost now with my son who is 16 months old and has just been put on the autism spectrum. though he is high functioning it is hard when he struggles or doesn't want me touching him or even more so is when other people shun him because he wont look at them or react to them how they would like. I don't care what other think I just don't like seeing him treated so.

  • 7:58 It sounded like you were losing touch in this world, is that true? You kind of paused and dragged out the sentence

  • Oh fleece how I hate thee!!! You and that "microfiber" are both of the nether reaches of sheol!!!!

  • someone like you, who has found the key to both worlds could do so much to help those who are still trapped. you are perfection, you can be here and there and know it. you come and go and are not scared, really special, and I so appreciated this video.

  • wow my brother is like that

  • FLEEECEEE!!!! GHHAHAHAHAAH i can SO relate. LOL

i dont know if im aspergers but ive found out i have a niece and nephew with it. but having you said that about fleece im starting to wonder.

  • Luciaulloa,

I am 36 and have recently been diagnosed with aspergers by a clinical psychologist specializing in adult aspergers, I was raised as a normal child partly due to the fact that this condition was unknown in those days but also because I was only slightly different than the other kids. I had no real friends and found it quite difficult "fitting in".... My father would tell me to just "dumb myself down" to fit in or learn to play sports, ( which I disliked ). In the end it didn't matte

  • awww she is cute :3

  • reading this makes me tear up. my son is six and currently being tested for autism and i feel terrible that i have waited this long to have this done. I dont understand it all the best and trying to re train the entire family on how to change their actions with him is going to be the most difficult. I feel alone with this and my husband and his family deny that anything is wrong with him and that he is just behind but as a mother and having spent six years with him every day I know .

  • You just brought tears to my eyes. I'm a 17 year old guy and i have autism. I am in joy that you have overcome the greatest obstacle in your life, and have manged to have a normal life. I still have problems with my social life, and i have the most supportive friends and family to back me up in times of trouble.

If the world could understand us for who we are..............that would be the greatest gift you could give us.

    Who agress!

    Thumbs up!!!!

  • this was so inspirational. now, i know that i'm not alone (i was diagnosed with asperger's when i was 5)

  • it's somehow strange to be looking a person who is suffering similar difficulties, but at the same time you can feel kind of relief, because you don't have to think that your staring would hurt her. :)

  • You're so beautiful and have such gorgeous eyes.

Wish we could get together and be all spergi together ; )

  • No childhood amnesia?

  • I piss people off without trying to. makes me wonder how people would react if I was actually trying to be mean. I don't even want to think about that.

  • My Sons Dad is gifted without Autism. Our Son has stacked/lined things up since 2. Doing shape sorters correctly since 17 months. Able to plug in keyboards/computer mouses into the correct areas at the back or front of the computer. Pull things apart & try & put them back together. Taught himself to draw, to write through cool school or a tracing letters book. Shakes head, make some silly noises, stand & stare into space, lie on ground after walking. Does/Says stuff to laugh at. Likes to swing

  • @mylovesofmylife your sons dad? do you mean yourself, or is that a typo?

  • my mother said i was worse than hypochondriac once, just because i was showing her some info on something (out of academic interest) that I don;t have but which acts like asperger's. People with that disorder, Aflyxethemia? I think? have elongated faces and a noticeable dyspraxia. My fahter and myself have a dyspraxia, but not Aflyxethemic dyspraxia.

  • before i discovered i might have asperger's, my mother used to get mad at me because i didn;t understand. She DOEs love me, but she would get overly defensive, or say things like, what dictionary are you using/what language are you speaking? She would ask if i was stupid. I am 27, and my father probably has this too. I havea good psychologist who I ahve been seeing recently, but.. I am 27... just found out about asperger's last year. Dad got mad at me once because i didn't understand the math.

  • You don't seem having asperger at all :-) you must have been working it a lot to be in this "level"(i mean the eye contact, no speech disorders ,your sense of hymor):-)

  • sexy white girl poo

  • What is your own world?

  • AS or no AS, you are amazing.

  • I like you. I also enjoy being different :) People often don't understand and think people like use or rude, or shy, etc but that's just not it, I really liked this video.

  • Beautiful girl !! from Spain

  • I remember the game "Oregan Trail"....I'm also of the mind that alot of the great authors of fantasy were Aspies. case in point :Lewis Caroll or Edward Gorey. Apies in my opinion are Old Souls.

  • I think the number one thing for all aspies is having a connection, you need someone who understands. It's somewhat difficult for me at least now but it's great to see a website like Taylor's. It inspires me. It makes you feel like "Hey, we're with you and know what you're about."

  • Your house is 3 miles long lol xD

  • Google: The Tragedy Of Vaccination-Dr Rima Replies to The Vaccine Pushing, Child-Destroying Tragedy of 'Standard Medicine.' Healthfreedomusa*org

  • this video means alot to me , i have a boy who has autism and it's hard for me to get through him it seems like he doesnt understand me at all .... I relaly want to help him, and i try to look for older children with autism cause i want to ask so many question but this video helped me alot . are you still on any theraphy ???

  • Thank you for this video, I really needed to see/hear something like this today. I am a mom to a 6 yrs old ASD child, and you've given me hope that someday, my daughter will be able to live a "normal" life. As normal as it gets anyway. She is talking, just won't hold a conversation/express her feelings, but she can tell you when she needs/wants something, and tells stories from her cartoons. She is now starting to tell us what she's done at school. She's starting primary school next september.

  • Do you have crushes? just wondering if autistic people with asperger's syndrome have crushes? :)

  • Thanks you so much for posting this. My daughter (age 5) is on the Autism spectrum and this video really touched me AND offered some insights into the reasons behind her sensory issues.

  • I have Dyslexia and Brain damage as a result I understand. There is a lot of simularity. The diferince is I can't block out the world at all. Most people are not entirly hear ever but everything bombards me all the time. I don't understsnd or even preseve a lot of socal cues. Sound has the same effect on me and I am extremly emotnaly sensative. I have been held from sucseding in life by "Normals," but I see them as the ones who are defishent in many ways. At 48 I don't have hope for my future.

  • Why aren't my comments getting through?

  • It's hard to know what real hope is for Autism or Asperger's, because there are so many crackpots and con artists around aiming to make a quick buck, by promoting false hope that you never really know what to believe. As someone who was recently diagnosed with MILD Asperger's Syndrome, I feel that it is not a disability, but rather a difference in wiring or personality.

  • very well said. i have very high funtioning aspergers, and you can grow out of it some, if you work hard, but many ppl will still feel that your different and it can be fun sometimes:)

  • I like your accent.

  • I am almost positive that my son has aspergers. The thing is that he has improved so much since I first noticed it when he was a little over a year old, that I fear he will not get a proper diagnosis. His biggest problem is with socialization. He just doesn't fit in with everyone else and that makes him stand out like a sore thumb. Im debating whether to get him tested or not. As a person with aspergers, what do you suggest? I am at a loss right now.

  • @luciaulloa I say yes. Before I was diagnosed with Aspergers, everyone just assumed I had ADHD and I was prescribed medicine that I didn't need.

  • @luciaulloa If you diagnose someone who isn't extreme enough, that could mess up their life. But if they have real social problems, you should go ahead and do it.

  • @luciaulloa Does your son ever complain about not feeling like he fits in? Does he feel different?

Even if he doesn't now, he might in the future.

And even if you decide not to get him tested, you as a parent can probably find a lot of tips on the Internet how to help him and support him :)

Besides, check yourself if he fits in on the criteria of Aspergers(or maybe something else that might fit).

But don't get 'stuck' in it, he might just be a bit different without having a 'letter combo'.

  • This is a great video it Shows how people with asd or related disorders will act. I was diagnosed at 2 1/2 with high functioning AS and I'm now 12 I relate to alot of the things in this vid :)

  • I am also a girl with aspergers syndrome i must say that the disability i have found tends to be in other people and there acceptance not in me :)

  • Taylor, thank you.

  • The 38 people who dont like this need to go jump off a cliff!! I am a mother of an asperger child! I want to thank you Taylor from the bottom of my heart. I feel so lost some times on how to deal with my son and how to relate to him. Hear how you feel and how your world is helps me to understand where my son my be coming from. It makes me hopeful. Thank you again!!!

  • @cuteclegg, don't get discouraged. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path! Proverbs 3:5-6

This is such an encouraging young woman, and she has come so far.

  • Taylor, your achievements are impressive by any standard! In fact, who's to say that you're not better off for having experienced and overcome your challenges? Not only can you be "normal" but you have the power to redefine what normal is!

  • It brought a tear to my eye... I watched your video with my Aspie son whos 8 and he says mom that's like me!... Thank you

  • This is a wonderful video to explain Aspies and ASD to the general public. I have a 13 yr old Aspie girl who is almost as close to "neurotypical" as you are. There are still challenges and a great deal of misunderstandings among those around her, especially from teachers.

  • Thank you so much for this wonderful and honest video!!

  • Thank you so much for this video. I love the way you express yourself, Taylor. Good luck. Ramón, Galiza, Spain.

  • @stonerjunky Well a camera is one thing... a person's gaze is another ;).

  • @TheRobinRice i agree with u about the camera my daughter is 4yrs old n she has asperger n she love my camera, trying to get her to look at me is hard. it hurt me that she dont even want us to hug or kiss her,but by watch this video gave me so hope. So no matter what people say keep doing what you are doing because u just help me have hope for her future. thank you n God bless u.

  • @TheRobinRice I personally can't look at a camera lens either. I can't concentrate on what I'm saying. A persons eye or a lens is the same to me... though a person is obviously worse. I have to look away so I can thinking of what I'm saying.

  • @TheRobinRice Also, not all Aspies avoid eye contact. For instance I am one that stares.

  • This is a great video for understanding Aspergar's IMO. My son from a very young age (he's now 9) has had some very "unique" things about him- many of which I had as a youngster and have today also. From the time he was very little, his pediatrician would comment on and question him possibly having Aspergar's. He shares the whole lack of eye contact, playing with other kids (he will play alongside though), from toddler to now sign language was used also (although he is verbal), + more.

  • @MegaImalone Yes, I have recently been diagnosed. And I've been driving for years.

  • Awesome video! I have just subscribed so I can see more. Keep up the great work!

  • i have aspergers and alot of the things you say i relate to deeply but some things dont appear to be aspergers things...

all through my life i could not do something social without first learning how to do it.

  • @MegaImalone Yes! I've just been diagnosed, and I've had my license for years.

  • I posted your video on my site. ;) meetchaz dot blogspot dot com

  • ★★★★★

  • Thank you so much! I loved your video. I'm currently an ESL teacher, but have a growing interest in working with AAT (animal assisted therapy) for children with autism... any tips would be greatly appreciated- Renee (S.P Brazil)

  • Thanks 4 ur vid!!! U are gorgeous!

  • i love oregon trail!!!! lol i use to play it too

  • @MegaImalone, it's personal, I drive and everything is fine, but my friend can barely ride a bicycle

  • I enjoyed watching your video! My 2 year sone was diagnosed with moderate to severe Autism 3 months ago and every day since then I worry wether he will be able to talk or go to school of just function like a "normal" person in general. Watching this video has given me more hope and it was awesome to hear your story

  • You seem to have coped very well with your condition. If I just met you and knew nothing about you, I would never suspect you were autisitc. I'm autistic as well, about the same level of severity and I went thru some of the same things you went through. I agree with that last thing you said. Autism may have been frustrating at times but I love my life and I wouldn't want it any other way.

  • i think i have the same thing.. but not so severely . .. but i kinda like it coz im great at computer programming..

  • Cat alarms annoy the hell out of me.. most VHF just bug me, and it annoys me that noone around me notices lol.

  • you are an incredible young woman. thank you so very much for sharing your story with the world!

  • that is very touching video to me! had a similar story.

  • @stonerjunky

Talking to a camera is much different than speaking with a person for those with Asperger's.

  • Your video gave me a lot. Keep on talking about this!

    János (Hungary)

  • I've got aspergers too but I kind of have a normal social life now even though I have a real problem communicating, and I feel really disconnected in social situations but it's kind of funny xD.

  • @stonerjunky ;)

  • People with a/s may have a driver's license?

  • @MegaImalone Yes.

  • @MegaImalone Of course, just because we have problems communicating doesn't mean we're stupid.

  • @MegaImalone Autism effects social skills, not technical skills like driving. Autism doesn't automatically mean mentally retarded. :/

  • @MegaImalone of course.... -.-

  • @MegaImalone of course... given they pass the required tests that everyone else would have to take to earn it. And 99% of people with AS are capable of earning one...

  • @MegaImalone

    yeah, they can actually

  • @MegaImalone Yes we may. However, the task of learning to drive, was for me, very daunting. My motorskills aren't that good and processing that much information you are bombarded with was exhausting. And i also follow all rules to the letter, which can be hard for passangers. I also dont like to drive fast.

  • @MegaImalone Definately! For some of us its a little tougher bc of hand eye coordination, im 24 and have aspergers and I have a licence, even tho my driving isnt the best lol

  • @MegaImalone i have A/S and have driven since i was 17, i live in the UK

  • @MegaImalone i have A/S, diagnosed when i was 15, and have driven since i was 17, i live in the UK and im 25 now and still driving

  • Autistic (Aspie) disconnect for me is playing games: Xbox, HOGs but all solo, and never multiplayer. I just love games, why, because they take me out of the world into the abstract puzzle solving space which is safe. I will play the game until I have completed every single thing. I am very obsessive and whatever I do I have to worry it to death, whether it is games or tasks I have set myself.

  • I am autsisic myslef and i think it's great that im discovering more people like me :)

  • @thelashers

Me too it's good to see other people who understand what it's like to be an (aspie)

  • Hi Taylor. I liked your video, and I was diagnosed with mild asperger`s today at a psychologist. Im just now truly starting to want better social skills, but I have no problems looking people in the eyes. Did you have problems dealing with eye contact from the start, and did you learn how to improve it? This was one of the things that made me seem more "normal", in his eyes. Best regards from Norway

  • My 11 year old son was mildly autistic, but overcame his issues, and now is in a public school. He's no longer autistic.

  • @9SuperMonkeyBall0 theres no such thing as overcoming autism and not being autistic anymore, he's 11, on the surface he looks fine to you.

  • @rabcor yes there is... i have, i'm just labelled like a rash that wont go away... because nobody even notices any autistic trait in me these days

  • @rabcor actually there are a few amount of people who overcame autism! :)

  • @9SuperMonkeyBall0 My 8 yr old brother has autism & has always gone to a public school. He's very well spoken for his age & quite the genius. People who've just met him would never guess he's autistic but it's called "autism spectrum disorder" for a reason, there's a wide spectrum of characteristics within the diagnosis of autism. Many only associate certain behaviours with autism & since you said your son "overcame" it, i'm guessing you do the same thing, as you can't just stop having autism...

  • To be honest i clicked because i saw someone beautiful. But found soo much more. Thank you

  • Thank you, from Sweden.

  • You are a beautiful person, and give so many people hope and understanding. THANK YOU

  • This was very well put, and very well spoken. Thanks for sharing a part of your world with the rest of us. :-)

  • Congratulations on the hit volume & thank you for the sharing with the community, really appreciated watching this.

  • is this girl 17 she sounds like 30

  • @GameRelatedStuff

That's characteristic of people with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorders).

  • asperger's has some perks in terms of processing and storing information, but if i'm being honest, i'd much rather be neurotypical. the reality we experience daily is fundamentally different from the "consensual halucination" the rest of the world indulges in. music probably isn't as beautiful on the other side though...

  • @chris11sholtz I hear you.

  • God Bless You. I really mean this...

  • This girl is right-she is NOT the norm for autistic kids! One thing people don't know about autistic kids is that 75% of them are classified as "mentally retarded".

  • My life as a young person was often tormented, but over the years I've not only learned to maximize my inherent strengths to the point that the Aspie weaknesses are nearly invisible. I am a professional life coach and mentor today with a phenomenal life and wonderful relationships. That should be a very encouraging message for young people with Asperger's. The moment you accept that you're different and stop trying to "fit in", you'll free yourself from the burden and begin to reap the harvest.

  • I have Asperger's but unfortunately it was only diagnosed well after school so as you can imagine I actually had no friends growing up at all. I coped as best as I could. I just never let it really get me down. I didn't know how to interact so I'd barely get more than two wordsout within large groups of people.

I chose to not let it trouble me. I said to myself,

"This is who I am. I *like* who I am. And I'm proud of who I am. I won't let whatever this is beat me."

    It's easier than it sounds.

  • You seem like a really sharp girl, and it seems like you've come to a good place! Way to go! I agree about getting checked early. I'm 25 and I still don't make eye contact or talk much. I think that if I got help with social skills training or something earlier, I could have avoided a world a pain.

  • I love this...I feel that one day autism will be more accepted and embraced, I have had the opportunity of working with autistic children once and sometimes I wish I could have been as free as them, as happy as them, and I always noticed that they were so inteligent and creative, the other world seems more fun to be in, mabe they are just highly connected to energy and gifted in a spiritual sence which has not been taught to them, we cannot teach them because we don't know ourselves :-)

  • i have PDD-NOS. i'm usually afraid to tell people because they won't understand. but i'm like you in a lot of ways.

  • Yeah, I'm an Aspie. I remember going to special ed classes back in the day, learning to control myself for prizes. People said I wouldn't go to college - in that sense, I have absolutely no backup college fund, so I have to mooch off the state and keep my grades up.

Taylor, your story inspires me. And besides, you have a lot of similar vocal cadences to me. We're into detailed responses and we like entering into our own world.

  • We just hit 200,000 views... thank you all!

  • @TheRobinRice Thank you :D

  • Hi. I liked your video, and I was diagnosed with mild asperger`s today at a psychologist. • I think I might have Aspergers, I'm very awkward socially, very few 'friends'. I have a huge interest in music and creating music. I can spend a whole day following this interest. My dad suspected I might have it years ago, I'm 20 now and want to know for sure, it would make a lot of sense if I'm an Aspie

  • shes a great speaker

  • I have the same problems with sensitivity, and things like that, i'm 12 years of age, could I be autistic..?

  • It's awesome seeing another girl with autism speaking up. So many people don't get it and it's hard to explain to them what it's like having autism spectrum disorders.

  • Thank you for sharing your story! My son was diagnosed with AS when he was 13. He is now 15 and after being diagnosed, we had trouble getting his teachers to change their approach with him. We have been lied to by the teachers up until school administrators were brought in and changed my sons academic life for the positive. I am going to have him watch this with me so maybe I can get some information from him on how I can change my ways of interaction with him!

Thank You again for sharing. The

  • @tgard06 oh lord, don't get me started, sweetheart. The principal called me retarded! to my mother's face when i started kindergarten. THen, later, HAHAHAH I won the spelling bee in fifth grade, and GUESS WHO GAVE ME MY AWARD? I gave him a -Look- I felt bad for later, but really. RETARDED? HA. I am bitter, unfortunately. BUt not as bitter as some who come on hre and troll. So, I hear you. The elementary school and thehigh school destroyed my records, multiple times.

  • Because girls are more social than boys, it must be harder for a girl with Aspergers than a boy.

  • Thanks for sharing!

  • I do the walking for miles thing as well!! It helps me relax

  • I am diagnosed with ADD and I KNOW I have Asperger's syndrome. If only this was revealed when I was young... I wouldn't have flunked my education. I'm 19 years old now, and seriously need to think what I want to do in my life.

  • @KuroiiTenshii That sucks son

  • @KuroiiTenshii

Were in the same boat...dont give up

  • IM REALLY CONFUSE REALLY REALLY CONFUSE I MAY NOT BE ABLE TO SPEAK ENGLISH AS U CAN BUT I CERTAINLY SEE A CLOSE RELATION BETWEEN YOUR AND MY BEHAVIOR WHILE TELL OUR STORY

  • I know that feeling of accidentally offending someone.

  • AS disorder hurt me alot when I get to excited and then rejected by my classmates.

Thats why I don't show emotion to people much. My specialty is martial arts. Im 15 yr

and known to be a talented defensive fighter.

  • Thanks so much for posting this story. My son is 18months and presenting symptoms. I'm getting him tested asap. You have given me a new hope! Thanks so much; and I'm glad that your doing so well! I just can't say thank you enough because you give me hope! God bless you!

  • awesome topic for your term paper. I recently read a book written by someone who has Asperger's - it's called "Pretending to be Normal." You might enjoy reading it.

Thomas Edison, Einstein, Temple Grandin all have Autism. Maybe you could work on a biography about Temple Grandin. My sons both have Asperger's Syndrome. You are very High- functioning, you are lucky. They are both highly verbal, but have learning disabilities in other academic areas. Thanks for posting your message of HOPE.

  • Thanks for the video. It gave me some hope. I wish you the best.

  • i was diagnosed with autism at a young age and now i help other who autism... im only 19 yrs old but i know that i can do more in my life =]

  • @sethisalive1, Ditto. And seriously, I mean DITTO. The age, your autism, and how you feel: DITTO.

  • My daughter has Aspergers and is now 19 years old. She hates the fact that I bring up the word Aspergers up to her. She was always looked at as weird and although she is very bright, her socialization is compromised. She is a jewel to me now a freshman in college. I wish she would watch some of these videos to see just how wonderful asperger children are.

  • thank you.

  • Nice video Taylor. My 12 year old daughter Taylor and 6 year old son William both have autism. I have seen both of them come so far. They are both very different. I am glad to see how well you are doing.

  • I have always been like this. My earliest memory is wondering what was wrong with me at 5 years old. 50 years later I heard the label that I resented for years. Have driven long haul truck all my life. Have had a lot of years to think about it. I now realise the truth of that word. Wish I had heard it sooner. Faces frighten me. Fear sometimes makes me hostile/stupid. Hard to live this way. Good to know there is help. Not many years of driving left in me. Won't be able to run/hide anymore. Thanks

  • @zippy143 It's okay, baby. We're here for you. It's okay.

  • Thanks for posting this video. I like hearing people who have autism talk about it. I laughed when you talked about the therapist stopped you from swnging and wanted you to ask for more. We are trying to get our 3 yo son to ask for more now. He has classic (original) autism. He is doing pretty good now and is starting to show us what he wants. My wife does real good with him.

  • I was diagnosed with high functioning autism. I can't see the symptoms in myself. I don't talk much to other people, not because i can't, but because i don't want to. I talk a lot to my friends and at my job working at a grocery store as a bagger/courtesy clerk. My IQ is 126 and i have an above average memory. Music is my escape, like many other people. I plug in my earbuds and just zone out. So yeah i'm supposedly autistic, but i don't see it. Oh and i like her voice, it's nice.

  • Okay, is this really a gift that we have? Are we actually special? Aside from the usual "everybody is special in their own way". I don't feel special, I don't feel its a gift, I feel like its just a huge pain in the ass.

  • I remember Oregon Trail! I remember the sound! Wow.
