  • Beautiful! What is the name of this song?

  • @3sonsdad its a german christmas song "fröhliche weihnacht überall" is the name of it

  • 'Ohrenkrebs' =ear crabs . ???? Das versteh ich net.

  • I love the Vienna Boys choir always is good to hear,

  • @Kwiknitraat Ohrenkrebs = ear cancer. It's supposed to be some kind of a joke.

  • @G0ETTIN Okay,

  • Otra más de Navidad

  • still the best - London Boy Singers (search for them and Und Alsbald War da) aspired to be the same

  • ganz toll (scherz<)

  • die werden alle schwul ..

  • @AsiToni1

Theologieseminar.

  • @buenavozalasdoce - you're pretty uptight about the gum issue; i'm quite sure, then, that you're perfect in every way and never once did something others in authority didn't wish of you. you should be proud of such perfection.

  • @buenavozalasdoce The kid is swallowing you stupid little twat

  • @buenavozalasdoce There is no one chewing gum in the Vienna Boys Choir, I assure you. This would never have been tolerated. Relax sir/maam... take a tranquilizer and have a piece of gum.

  • @buenavozalasdoce Wow how does it sound ? Yes perfect so relax and enjoy . It doesn't matter if they all are chewing gum now does it ; )

  • good night underafrenzyspiral! who cares! Let's say ALL germanic people have beautiful voices.

  • osterreich osterreich uber alles

  • aww wie schön

  • when this song and the other german/austrian/whatever songs were written it existed no Austria or Germany itself, it was the German Kingdom (Deutsches Reich).

    so stop the battle..it`s christmas

  • @MissTaiChiThis

Yes,you're right.I'm tired of everyone giving me comments of whether this Austrian or German...everyone stop the battle and Merry Christmas everyone!

  • you are right there was no Austria or Germany, but at the time this song was written there was no German kingdom neither. In 1806 the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation ceased to exist and it was not until 1871 that the German Empire was founded.

As Fallersleben lived his whole life in what nowadays is Germany and was a very strong supporter of the German democratic movement (he wrote the german national anthem) i think it's save to say that he was german.

    but whatever it's only a song ^^

  • froehliche WEIHNACHTEN

  • i love listen to German carols.

  • i love listen to German karols.

  • AUSTRIA <3 ! :D

  • They are so cute :D

  • I MISS Austria every day. Beautiful Country and BEAUTIFUL people!

  • Gelukkig Kerstfeest Joyeux Noel Merry Christmas Frohe Weihnachten Buon Natale Feliz Navidad Feliz Natal Boas Festas Geseënde Kersfees God Jul Gladelig Jul
  • @motquin1 bedankt :-)

  • In the Philippines - Maligayang Pasko!

  • @eriesal "maligayang pasko' in tagalog, but MAAYONG PASKO in cebuano bisaya and MARAJAW NA PASKO in surigao bisaya, bisaya is spoken by 80 % of the filipinos

  • Merry x-mas from Vienna, the heart of Europe.

  • knabenchor!!!

  • wunderschön!

  • the voices of angels wrapped and cleverly disguised in the bodies of young men....is there anything more beautiful than childrens' voices raised in song? i think not! thank you.

  • Magnificent performance du WSK! Thanks Jardain

  • Ahh, Die Wiener Konzerthaus! lol i played there last week.

  • Great! Can it be that I saw you?

  • umm... i am not in the vienna boys choir, we came from the USA and performed in the International Haydn Festival. It was a mixed Youth Orchestra/Adult Orchestra and choir. I am in the Conejo Valley Youth Orchestra.

  • It´s german.

Recorded 22.12.2006 in the Vienna Concert-Hall "Christmas in Vienna 2006"

  • Thanks

  • Frohe Weihnachten !

  • Merry Christmas!

  • As a child I wanted to be part of the Vienna Boys Choir.what a sweet memory!

  • This is a beautiful piece, a treat to hear something from the land of my forebears, Osterreich.

  • thank you, petra - prisha308 - for this wonderful share, and a taste of europe! thanks for posting jairdan! five stars!!

    david

  • The text is from Hoffmann von Fallersleben, who also made the text to the german national anthem.

  • and btw, "Lovely Christmas song, the Germans really know how to make music." is correct, because he is talking about the SONG, which is german, not the SINGERS, who are austrian.

  • lol @ stessile, who obviously fails at history.

  • Comment removed

  • Lovely Christmas song, the Germans really know how to make music.

  • To hear something positive about the people I stem from is wonderful.

  • no there is not a ,,big difference". austrians are a german tribe.

  • It is not exactly known who wrote this song, since it is a traditional one.

And the difference between Germany and Austria is not so big since parts of Austria were German, years ago.

  • Actually is the same as if you are calling Canadians members of the USA or as if you are considering Norwey Sveden and Finnland as one country.

Please Austria has never been a part of Germany except back in the days of Karl the Great when whole Europe was part of the German Empire and the seven years from 1938-1945 when also most of Europ has been part of the third Reich.

  • @underafrenzyspiral the choir is from austria

  • @beidlgsicht

Yes I know but isn't the song originated from Deutschland?

  • @underafrenzyspiral

yes, it is! :) Im german, so believe in meeeee xD

  • @lolli3657 I'm 7/8 Chinese but I've1/8 of German descent even it's a small amount of heritage,I'm still proud to have roots of a superb ethnicity.I wonder where my distant European white relatives are now?Wish I knew them.:( Maybe you are one of my relatives.Ha ha,just kidding!Deutschland rocks!Liebe liebe<3

  • @underafrenzyspiral

    Yeah, im your missing relative!!

    xDD

and china rocks it too! ♥

  • @underafrenzyspiral its not the germans its the austrians:)

  • @underafrenzyspiral its not the germans its the austrians:)

  • @dooofmann Please read what I responded to wickienchen.I'm not stupid, alright?I know Austria and Germany are two different countries now but back then during WWII and before they were one nation along with Hungary. This Christmas carol was probably written before WWII.Therefore,it was written and composed by Germans.

  • @underafrenzyspiral the song was written by Heinrich Hoffmann von Fallersleben in 1700's and yes he was german but the composer i have no clue who he was so

Merry Christmas too all.......Fröliche Weihnachten für alle!!!!....

  • @underafrenzyspiral

I`m sorry to correct, but the vienna is in austria - not germany...

  • @wickienchen

I know that Vienna is the capital of Austria,Germany's border but the song is originally written by Germans.

  • @underafrenzyspiral They're Austrian... Ass

  • @agathaplaysthecello Yeah I already know the choir is Austrian because they are from Vienna but the carol itself is German, you son of a stupid cunt.

  • @underafrenzyspiral Austrians actually ;)

  • @marauders0620956 Okay so it was Austrians who made this carol.Let's just put an end to this, you'll have your opinion as a fact and I'll have mine.

  • @underafrenzyspiral Genau!!! Yes!)

  • @underafrenzyspiral they are from austria.. not from germany..

  • @underafrenzyspiral

    Danke schon..

  • @underafrenzyspiral Austrians god damn it!

  • What does "Fröhliche Weihnacht überall" mean?

  • Happy (Fröhliche) Christmas (Weihnachten) everywhere (überall)

  • merry Christmas does it mean

  • "Fröhliche Weihnacht überall" means only "merry christmas everywhere". In the furher text they sing: "toenet durch die Lüfte froher Schall" that means "in the whole air/sphere you can hear the joyfull sound".

Think about the engels singing the gloria in the night jesus was born.

  • @xmurli Merry Christmas everywhere

  • @xmurli

     Merry Christmas everywhere

  • C'est excellent!!!

  • Ja, das ist sehr gut.

  • SEHR GUTT !!! FROHE WEIHNACHTEN!!!

  • Sehr schon!

  • it's nice that some children want to sing like that because many boys think that is embarassing

  • Stupid comment!

  • How many videos are there from this performance?

  • beauty song

  • Thank You, I seem to recognize some of the boys from the concert that I attended last year in New York. Its a very touchy tune and I like it.

  • Very well done, was this done recently?

  • Yes, 22.12.2006 "Christmas in Vienna"
