I have been closely following events in Haiti since the earthquake, and it's obvious that the U.S., France, and Canada, as well as the wealthy Haitian elite plan to keep the status quo, and keep the Haitians powerless. Yes, they may build roads and some infrastructure; they may decentralize some government offices, etc., but they also will keep firm control of the government. Until the people of the U.S. speak up loudly enough in solidarity with Haitians, nothing will change. Please help.

@Th3Wab3 They are prevented from setting up agricultural institutions because that would lead to self sufficiency which is blocked by the US, IMF, etc. If these nations were to be allowed to produce their own food than they may begin to end malnutrition, begin an economy, educational systems, etc. What the west wants and needs is for them to remain dependent on foreign aid so the west may continue to exploit the people for profit. When people provide for themselves they are a threat.
