The faster vibrato is a general style in early 20-century string playing. Dale's Romance is composed in 1906, and dedicated to Lionel Tertis. The narrow vibrato and lots of the portamento is what we called the 'historical performance'.

Were you formerly a violinist? Your vibrato is a little too small, and often too fast for a viola.
