Mississippi deserves credit for beating Texas Tech; but when Utah (yes, Utah) beat Alabama 31 to 17 in the Sugar Bowl, it is hard to claim that the SEC is the undisputed best conference.

Oh yeah, if you want to compare most overall national championships in all sports, you might want to look at Oklahoma State. It has 48.

Outside of Wrestling and golf your last championship was in 1959. OOOOOOkay.

Oklahoma State has 34 NC's in wrestling which is very impressive. Many/Most colleges don't even field a wrestling team. Its kind of a midwest thing, with Iowa and all. Taking nothing away from the sport, but OSU hasn't done much outside of wresting and golf. I would take Florida's 3 NC's in football over 34 NC's in wrestling. That is just my opinion.

Since you play in the Big 12 you may very well make it back to the NC game. Playing in a JV conference with no defense allows you to set all time scoring records. I guess its not OU's fault they play in a conference soo bad.

It's hard to be humble when we have won the NC the last 3 years. The SEC has more starters in the NFL than any other confererence. Facts are facts. Good luck next year, you guys will have another good team for sure.

We've been pretty successful for the last 20 years in football. Top 10 in the national all sports awards(directors cup) for the past 25 years in a row.(look it up). Total of 27 National championships in various sports. Florida has one of the best athletic programs in the country bar none.

Anyway I'm coming back, I guess you are now talking about the Sooners who have a great football history and should be very proud of the 7 NC's. The Gators can only aspire to have 7 some day. We are doing all we can with 3 in 12 years. Oklahoma has 1 NC in 23 years. Florida actually has more overall NC's in all sports. Both have great athletic programs. Don't be so defensive.

i have to tell this...i'm born and raised oklahoman, but we moved to florida last year. so i sat there at the beginning of the semester letting them make fun of OU ("What's tuition? A nickel?") and dissing the Big 12 conference. But they shut up once it was discovered we were worthy of taking them on.

Now, if only we could have won...eh, that's why I'm a NASCAR fan I guess (:
