I hate the way they spin this... they make it seem like a bad thing, equating it to terrorism against children. That's ridiculous. It's liberating and exciting to think of a future where kids won't be bound by ridiculous gender expectations. When I was younger, my brother and I would play dinosaurs together, and we'd also play Polly Pocket together. I think that's the way it should be.
I remember seeing this on the Negativland video "Sonic Outlaws" there;s a whole piece ablut the BLO, This was not fake. These guys were interviewed in the movie..Hysterical
Cheap shot? Thanks to the BLO (started by one of The Yes Men - check them out), Matel had to concede that Barbie's stupid speech was really doing little girls a disservice. She said things like "Math is hard" and crap like that. THAT change was real, and we have the BLO to thank for it. What mother wants her daughter to have that kind of obstacle put before her before she even gets there??? Only a sicko. Funny, they say this was a "sick joke" and it was anything but, it EXPOSED a sickness.
