I was enrolled in Martin High 1971 to 1975 played some football, can't remember Tigers ever wining a game. Still some fond memories , the awesome bonfires that could be seen for miles, the weekend dances in the gym and at one time the great firework
im with the band, everyday as we practice we see how is getting build back up, united ppl shud be jealous this one is gonna be 10 times better then the balls sack.
haha why are they making this shitttt if yalll suck at sports seriously just stick to soccer and whatever the fuck u faggs do GO UNITED LONGHORNS SCHOOL OF CHAMPIONS BABY
Lots of Football games play here at Shirley Field. But the memories will be Martin-Nixon Football game rivalry. Keep the historic memories of Laredo Texas.
good idea. thanks for the video. i played football there., i remember it all. i also played track and field. went to nixon, but did pole vault with some good friends at martin at a jv track meet. we jumped the pool fence afterwards and went swimming, it was one dude and two twins from martin. are you guys there? it was in 1993 or 1994, get with me if you see this. i'd take chunks too. i love laredo. lived in many states, no place like it on earth.
Thank you for a great video. It was nice to see Shirley Field before it was demolished. It is a little sad but as with all things, life goes on. Our children needed a better stadium. Out with the old in with the new.
To the rude posters. Your level of ignorance is astonishing. The vulgar language was unwarranted. You should be ashamed to call yourselves a Laredoan.
I passed by Shirley Field last weekend and I saw that the wooden structures near the bleachers were dismantled. Those platforms were used by disabled fans/people. They could park their wheelchairs up on 'em. Once demolition starts, I'll post pictures on La Sanbe.
i can honestly say this with all the respect i have for you FUCK YOU alot of people grew up thier and have thier memories thier me being one of them for you people to distroy that all you are fucking dicks i saw an old man crying when he heard it was to be demolished so i have only 3 fucking words for you chinga tu madre
The bonfires were done away with when I was in junior high. The dances at the gym were awesome. I was at Martin from '84 - '88.

I had no idea that Shirley Field was being torn down. I left Laredo in 1985 and have only been back there one time for a Family Reunion.
Had some great times in Laredo, made many friends, I miss the place sometimes, but my roots are now far from home but "once a Tiger, always a Tiger!"
Thank you for posting this video. Saludos desde California.

Dude, documenting something isn't the same as being responsible for its demise. Relax.
