  • I was enrolled in Martin High 1971 to 1975 played some football, can't remember Tigers ever wining a game. Still some fond memories , the awesome bonfires that could be seen for miles, the weekend dances in the gym and at one time the great firework

  • Lots of Football games play here at Shirley Field. But the memories will be Martin-Nixon Football game rivalry. Keep the historic memories of Laredo Texas.

  • I had no idea that Shirley Field was being torn down. I left Laredo in 1985 and have only been back there one time for a Family Reunion.

Had some great times in Laredo, made many friends, I miss the place sometimes, but my roots are now far from home but "once a Tiger, always a Tiger!"

Thank you for posting this video. Saludos desde California.

  • good idea. thanks for the video. i played football there., i remember it all. i also played track and field. went to nixon, but did pole vault with some good friends at martin at a jv track meet. we jumped the pool fence afterwards and went swimming, it was one dude and two twins from martin. are you guys there? it was in 1993 or 1994, get with me if you see this. i'd take chunks too. i love laredo. lived in many states, no place like it on earth.

  • goo tigerss yea babyyy

  • Thank you for a great video. It was nice to see Shirley Field before it was demolished. It is a little sad but as with all things, life goes on. Our children needed a better stadium. Out with the old in with the new.

To the rude posters. Your level of ignorance is astonishing. The vulgar language was unwarranted. You should be ashamed to call yourselves a Laredoan.

  • man that sucks... why not build the new stadium some place else. and keep this as a historic site. thats sad.. GO MARTIN!

  • I passed by Shirley Field last weekend and I saw that the wooden structures near the bleachers were dismantled. Those platforms were used by disabled fans/people. They could park their wheelchairs up on 'em. Once demolition starts, I'll post pictures on La Sanbe.

  • it getting demolished or it already did??

    I had no idea....

  • fucking ass holes!!! this school is like the fucking best.

  • goo tigers!!!!

  • Dude, documenting something isn't the same as being responsible for its demise. Relax.
