Very sad for you. Yes dogs can kill alpacas. Silly comment 'sehoujay'!. You can see from the video that the fencing is very adequate. People who own dogs (and yes I own alpacas as well as three dogs) should keep them under control. Any dog that chases livestock should be euthanized. Poor family - years of hard work down the toilet and loss of dear pets too.
Wow that's awful! But in all honesty, I don't think the pit bulls are to blame either. I mean how did the pit bulls manage to enter your property? Were the Alpacas secured by a fence? The Alpacas seemed pretty big, and I know they can kick pretty hard too. How in the world did the dogs kill them?
@sehoujay Alpacas are very gentle creatures that really don't have much of a defense against something like a pit bull. Let's not blame this alpaca owner for someone else's dogs coming onto his property and killing his livestock. He and his animals are the victims here.
