  • sounds super clean

  • What is your motor setup? Heads? cam? intake? Compression? Thats alot of hp out of a 302. I have 68 mercury cougar. AFR heads, about 10:1 compression... good cam... headers.... and im putting out around 395 HP. Great looking car and thanks for sharing!

  • Yep your brakes work.

  • Very sharp car by the way!

  • @Scooterdesigns: {P.S. Just so you know, in case you ever get to read this, I wasn't referring to your Comet as the 'ricer' here. In fact, I like yours. ;-).}

  • I used to own one of these. Even with a stock 302, it's no slouch!

  • Crownv80. I've got to see that to belive it. And how in **** did you get it to " fit "?

  • isn't that a maverick

  • @alex3alex3alex3

No Maverick's were Ford, and one of the cosmetic differences were the rear tail lights. Merc had 4 red tail lights, while the Ford only had 2.

    Front grills were different too.

  • JUST sold one with a 429 i shoehorned in it . a built 429 + .040 , c6 , 9 in from a 67 gt mustang ; 4.30 gear . ran mid 10`s . it was tagged & insured , street car ! LOVE THOSE LITTLE CARS ! NICE CAR !

  • @crownv80: Nice, but why have a 4.30 when you could've had a tall{3.00/3.50} gear? Sure you might lose a little acceleration, but you'd have a really nice top end. :-)

  • @MiracleMile90 Only ricers want to risk wrecking their cars at top speeds. These comets are too rare to play stupid on the roads.

  • @harlon2u: But, IMO, why waste a perfectly good Comet by putting ridiculously short {4.30, 4.56, etc.} gears on it{unless you have an engine that has a decent rev band, or more than 4 gears}? If it's true that ricers are usually described as 'all show and no go', then any Comet like what I just described here, might as well already be a ricer of sorts{or well on it's way to becoming one.}.

    I have a '99{or possibly} Expedition. It may be a bit of a slouch,

but at least it's not a ricer. ;-)

  • @MiracleMile90 I ran a 302 mustang ll with 4:11's daily. I also had a nova with a 454 that would hit 120 in the blink of an eye with 3.73's. Although the gas prices keep me from the lower gear band now. Where I live, there's no road straight enough for top end. And let me rephrase "ricer" to "rice burners". Since the younger generation want to change what a ricer means.

  • @harlon2u: Well, it does also depend on the rev band and other factors......if it happens to be pretty high, and/or you have a transmission with 5 or 6 gears, then it'd be different.

"Where I live, there's no road straight enough for top end."

Well, okay, but that doesn't mean there aren't roads like that out there.

  • @harlon2u: But, if you made everything work out, then good for you, I guess. ;-).

  • Thank the Lord for the 302 Ford.

  • very pretty.

  • I got smoked by one of these on the I610 in New Orleans in 1976 or 1977. I was driving a 1975 Trans Am 400 with Edlebrock intake, headers and Thrush exhaust.

  • very nice car

  • loved the car. do u know around how much they cost?

  • i have one for sell if you are in texas?

  • smoked those tires like nothing.

    Nice car.

  • nice tire frier,loved it
