my first comment which you reacted is enough to explain using common sense. Many boxing hidstorians said Henry Armstrong is on top 5, well manny they said is better than Armstrong, so that's it! Armstrong was called a machine but he was not a knock out artist, Manny is, he captured many weight classes Manny did more.

Toss up between the Pac and SRR. Sugar Ray Robinson worked his way up to 168lbs...and did quite well. But when I watched closely his fights in my tape collection, they weren't emphasizing footwork then. He seems flat-footed to boxers like Pacquiao. But he WAS the man during his era.

The sport has evolved so much since then. Has to be PAC!

Sugar Ray all the way with Frazier a close second, snyone who sais ali know's nothing, he was all mouth and bit off a tosser to be honest, was fast but not the best he was the one who came up with that notion

though marciano was undefeated throught his career, the greatest in my opinion is sugar ray robinson, followed very closely by joe louis. robinson is the opitome of the classic textbook boxer/fighter. speed, agility, strength (both mental & physical) and ring generalship and just the all round ability makes him the greatest. 85-0 as an amateur, 173 wins and 108 k.o.'s is just an incredible feat. i also think that archie moore should be given a shout.

my friend, ali himself once said he based his style on that of sugar ray robinson. he himself said that sugar ray was the greatest. though i take others opinions on youtube with a pinch of salt, to say that i know nothing about boxing just because i believe that ali isn't the best ever is a little infantile. ali was magnificent i agree, but i think you need to broaden your horizons a little bit more. take it easy.
