@georgiaDuckman i need some help explaining to my father inlaw the steps to remove and purging water from my 85 chevy k20 deployed in afghanistan right now and he dont know jack about diesels a quick link for video footage on how to do it would be awsome but no luck there any one know some good sites to visit??????????????
my 86 chevy is all stock and has 350,00 miles of pure hell under its hood, it keeps goin and going. I cant kill it. I go to no mans land with the thing and it comes out every time, never let me down once. and it will go for another million.
dont get me wrong im a chevy fan .i own a chevy just saying that on inclines ur bowl emptys out..carbs on the other hand have better response that fuel injection even sounds better. at full throttle.
@86chevy Carbs are not better for offroading because of exactly what Joceylynnn said. When you get on an incline the Bowls will empty and only 1 barrel will spray Etc.
With fuel injection you have a pump that's pushing fuel from the tank into the injectors So you'll never have to worry about starvation when on an incline. Little thing called Gravity works against carbruetors...
@91CTD well if i ever want a truck that needs 40 million wires, a computer, and a fuel pump in the gas tank (again 40 million more bullshit wires waiting to fuck up) and 20,000 fuses and modulators and all kind of usless expensive bullshit, in a truck made of plastic and alluminum pie pans, that is way more expensive to lift, fix, or own, and looks like shit ill get a new fuel inj truck but i think ill stick with my 25+ y.o. trucks that still run just fine or beter than your space ship truck
@86chevy Its funny because i was talking about an 87 the SAME body style same exact truck, except a simple factory throttle body system on top .....so u just made an ass outta yourself it would take a few days to convert your truck to TBI with a donor truck at hand. And it only adds about 15-20 easy to trouble shoot wires....
sounds like you need a tune up man......and O ya you do drive like a chick.
