  • Hello,

PLease what temperature range do you recommend for flat ironing hair and what did you use?

    Thanks

  • Wow your hair is suuper straight, looks great on you. I have a big problem, maybe you can help me:

My hair is just about your lenght and it's pretty healthy (never tried relaxers or perms). Today I tried straightening it with a Ghd iron and a "silk and shine" heat protector. I used your comb method and did small strands of hair. It is straight now, but I've got still the big volume, it's not "flat" as yours. Do you know how I can achieve your look? Is it maybe because I did not use oil?

  • How do you flat iron and tex-lax with no breakage???

  • A bit much on the oily side for me, but seems to work for you. You're hair is very thick.

  • Good job. Umm i've had a relaxer since I was little but i liked my hair better when it was all natural and curly looking soo how can i get it back tht way without it falling out

    ?

  • I haven't had chemicals in my hair for about 12 years. It's not kinky, but wavy and easy to come through. About shoulder length. can I do this same technique with to texlax?

  • What kind of flat iron are you using?

  • beautfuil hair

  • ur not suppose to put heavy oils in ur hair when u flat iron. its frying your hair and it makes it greasy so it your hair wont have any movement to it

  • i love this video it really made my eyes open about house people dont care of there hair im 12 years old and when i flat iron my hair steam and stuff all kinds of the sort came up but fro not on i will make you every time im about to falt iron my hair i will make sure that i will watch all you videos and besides you are very pretty and you really open my eyes thanks

  • girl your hair is so long! and your pink iron is so freaking cute : )

  • what do i use to regrowth my front head. is cuting

  • wow - love this video - you got big fat plaits - reminds me when i was little... !! do you think relaxed hair will break off -if one started to use texturiser? wont the relaxed hair break away? what was your experience and how can i and my sister avoid that - plan to use April.....

  • @winiver77 No just texturize the new growth and you will be fine.

  • Very helpful videos on flat ironing. I would love for you to post your rosemary tea leave in condish.

  • Your video is very helpful, I will use this when the hair bootcamp challenge i'm in is over, lol. Right now i'm on a no direct heat diet, lol

  • I wish you the best with your challenge.

  • Thanks sweetie, are you a member of any hair sites?

  • no.

  • i can't seem to flatiron the new grown hair without burning my scalp. i'm impressed how you do it

  • Thank u!

  • What kind of relaxer do you use, I know you're not into products, but I ask because I've burned my hair our 12 times with different perms some my hair doesn't take to it well or I've left it on too long and many other reasons 12 times 12 different mistakes. I would like to know what type of relaxer you use?

  • google gentle texture softner.

  • Hi! I love your vids, I've been watching all day. :)

One question: does the comb-chasing have any purpose besides letting you know when your hair is tangled? For instance, does it make your ends come out smoother?

  • This helps me catch all the hair as much as possible with ONE pass through. Without it I have to pass through each part multiple times.

  • do you think the insyler can damage your hair ?

  • I don't like using tool that are automatic. I rather do it manually myself. If I feel like the brush or comb is pulling my hair I can stop it immediately and not pull through my hair.

  • Great! i love your style. The Rosemary is good i always use it.

  • i love ur hair :] lol when u showed ur NG i was like whoa ! i get that much about every 2 months but my hair is easy to brake off so yah... :[ but yah anywho keep doing what ur doing coz... u have saved alot of heads form the evil WEAVE lol

    ~with love elaine~

  • i love love love you........ how often do you relax and wat relaxer do you use do u get it profesionally done or diy????

  • Thank you I love you tooo!!! I "texlax every three months and I use a "gentle texture softner" and I DIY.

  • ooh okay thats cool i just started texlaxing but the lady told me every 8 weeks..... she used the alter ego one and i loved it.... my hair is looking really big and thank u for ur video cause now im learning how to deal with this big hair.....

  • You know I just had a thought that thing they do to hair when I get a blowout plus flat iron I typically see alot of smoke that can't be good huh....

  • I was wondering how often do you wash your hair?

  • When I straighten it every 14-21 days. If I airdry and do a braidout or bun I co-wash every week.

  • Thanks...I wasn't quite sure about how often to wash my hair because before I sought the help of youtube and other sites, I was washing my hair like every two to three weeks. Now I have been trying to wash (with sulfate free shampoo) or co-wash every week (which can be a chore). But like you said it takes time if you want long, beautiful hair. Again thanks for your help. If no one else appreciates what you are doing I DO!

  • ...and that's all that matter!

  • Thanks for this video girl, I like what you're doing u show us that we don't always need expensive products to have nice hair there a bunch of cheap and natural alternatives out there

  • Sorry typing issues. My hair look like that it is dead sea dull. I soak my hair with olive oil and leave in conditioners and I am very happy with the results. I have natural hair and it love, love oils.

  • the only thing i dont think is good is that with all that oil your hair just ends up feeling and looking dirty and heavy. Yes it protects and moisturizes the hair, but I think putting too much oil ruins the entire style.

  • I did not put tooo much oil, I put a very little. You think my hair looks dirty?

I am offering a way to protect your hair while looking cute. (don't I look cute?) LOL! If I want that light fluffy look which I think your talking about I would do a rollerset. But something like flat iron with that direct heat I need to protect my hair. It's all about your personal choice and what you are willing to sacrifice to have long healthy hair. But my hair is neither oily or heavy right now.

  • I think it depend on your texture as far as the oil requirements. I flat iron with Paul Mitchell super skinny and silk elements mega silk

  • Does the coconut oil ever mess up your clothing? and if so how do you get the stains out? - Great tutorial!!

  • When dealing with coconut oil YOU NEED A VERY LITTLE. I know a lot of people overdose on the oils but you just need a little. There is but so much oil your hair can absorb at one time so you have to "feed" it little bits at a time. So if it's staining your clothes you are putting way tooooooo much.

  • Thanks for posting a flat iron video. I have always struggled with getting my hair straight but now I realize that I need to separate my hair into smaller sections. Duh! LOL! Thanks again.

  • It's the little things that make a big difference!

  • Girl i love your hair... 5*

  • i was under the impression that oil plus heat equals frying. i've alway heard that was huge no no. have u tried any other form of heat protection?

  • In the beginning I used to use a lot of different products. I've cut back a lot as you can see. My goal now is waist length and I don't want a lot of product "sitting" on my hair. I would rather invest the daily Tender Loving Care and moisture my hair needs instead of resorting to products.

As far as my hair frying did it appear to you that my hair was frying? Technique, Technique, Technique, NOT PRODUCT!

  • It came out beautiful. I love the thick hair too though.

  • Thank you sooo much!

  • great video :) I am going to do this on my daughters hair this wk. She hasn't worn it straight in 2 months. I will let u know how it turned out.

  • Quick Tip: You're not suppose to put oil on your hair while you're flat ironing it. I dunno but thats just me but it probably works for you hair

  • I have been waiting for this video. Thank you so much .

  • the flat iron came out so pretty : )

  • Thank you!

  • are you done with the no heat already?

by the way, i love the wild hair as well.

  • Thank you I love my wild hair too! Being texlax definitly gives me the best of both worlds.

  • Yes I am done with no heat. The winter time is when I focus on flat ironing because it's easier to keep it straight. I will go the entire summer with no heat again with box braids.

  • THANKS!!!!
