  • Rene Higuita is legend!

Created the riskiest football save ever >=OOOO

  • @RunLaMigra riskiest? do you think he would have the guts to try that in a world cup final ? :D

  • @TNAT1515 probably higuita was fucking insane.

  • @TNAT1515 It was even riskier, because if he did bad in a match he would be shot, and he did this to show he wasn't scared!

  • @xDubNBassify It was a frendly, no big deal !

  • Brave man-we like little bit of show of aj

  • OMG OBAMA

  • "There is no ball......"

  • lol i would laugh if he missed... total show off

  • i didn't know chuck norris played soccer!

  • I totally agree with Moneyball69 tbh , This was rly unnecessary and the point he thaught he was pro , i wont to see him doing an actual necessary save , cuz this was bullshitz.

  • oo how dare you do something like that on match

  • OMG! that was so epic

  • that was tight lol .

  • what the fuck! whats wrong with his hands??

  • I don't care how impractical and unnecessary this is. It is so awesome!

  • entertaining to watch but could have gained possession but fair play anyway

  • he got shot wen he got back to is country

  • @RuMbLeR105 seriously

  • @RuMbLeR105 No escabar or something did when he scored in his own net and made them lose.

  • That's bloody awesome

  • lmao @ the football haters stfu wat r u doin watchin this video anyways stupid fucks lmao

  • cool...

  • um.... why didn't he just grab it?

he's a goalie-- doesn't he know he's ALLOWED to touch the ball with his hands?

  • @skipperrox99 but if he did he did catch it he would not be on u tube

  • @skipperrox99 It was a friendly match and he was just having fun, unlike you who goes around on youtube video trying to find a way to critique it

  • @SNEAKYxC

    woah bitch, calm down.

It's quite obvious a catch would have been easier.

  • @skipperrox99 I remember this, I believe the play was off side. So if it had gone in it wouldn't have counted. Why grab it? Why not have some fun and make a remarkable save.

  • @Hippyy123

who knows... refs make mistakes with offsides . I would have just caught it to be safe.

It was a good save... but unnecessary.

  • @skipperrox99 Who knows?Do you even watch football? Its obvious that the goal tender knows that the play was called offside,Or els he would not have done that then celebrated, It doesn't matter if the offside was correct or not, As the ball was in air, if the ref called the play offside, He could have stepped out of the way and let it gone in the net. The point is that if the play was called as offside it would not have counted. Catch it to be safe of what? a goal that would not have counted.

  • @Hippyy123

Sure-- the play was called offside, but if the whistle was not blown before the strike, how does the goalie know whether or not the ref saw the offside or not, and whether or not he will consider it a good goal. If i were playing, and saw an offside play, do i just sit on my ass and say "oh, it's offside". NO. The ref could miss it, and count a goal.

Nice save-- but (depending on when whistle was blown) stupid.

P.S: you REALLY need to just calm down, hippy.

  • @skipperrox99 Sure, Sure you do LOL Thats why they have the amazing Idea of flags men on either side of the field, We could argue the causality of this all day, but as I say, remembering watching the game, The save was as a result of the play being off side, Not the goaltender thinking or assuming that it was, But that the ref called that it was. If you find the longer version of the clip, You will see the goaltender celebrate his save, and play soon stop.

  • @Hippyy123

Okay then, if what you say is true, and the whistle was blown before the strike, then that save was acceptable (...although still unnecessary. You've got to admit that one...)

But you cannot honestly tell me that offsides are ALWAYS called, and there are never any wrong goal counts. The men with flags are deceivable creatures, you know.

P.S: no offense... but the name "hippy" is kind of contradicting. You snapped at me like a...like a (insert clever analogy here)

  • @skipperrox99 LOL Of coarse I can admit that, I mean I will admit that even if it was called offside it is pretty watcha call it "showboaty" You know, just showin off.

It was technically was unnecessary. I mean he could have just caught it.

but I admire his courage to just do just attempt something like that, Without looking like a fool.

LOL Oh yeah all the time, I mean for all we know it could have been onside, But what they call is what they call.

  • @Hippyy123

Yes, it was unnecessary. Poor fella could have gotten an injury from the landing (awkward position).

...although it was cool-- very risky though. He would have looked rather silly had he not stopped the ball.

And yes, the men with flags can never be trusted. They LIE. (well-- actually... most of the time they are correct... only on some occasions do they mess up... but i really wanted to get that dramatic feel, so i went ALL out with the comment)

  • @skipperrox99 LOL Yeah I made this account a long time ago, LOL I don't even think about what it might convey to someone anymore. or Oh how it is interpreted. LOL but do I apologize for "snapping".

  • @Hippyy123

Yes-- when i read "hippy" I just imagined a person sitting in a meadow of flowers with bell-bottom pants... singing "All you Need Is Love" with a perfectly tuned acoustic guitar, under a beautiful sunset... i'm guessing that I interpreted wrong?

It's alright.... i suppose my "bitch" comment wasn't too nice either. I'm sorry.

...damn-- still haven't come up with that analogy... crocodile? no. such a commonly used term. I'll keep thinking.

  • i wanna try like that

  • who is the goalkeeper?

  • @shavgoulitze Rene Higuita

  • pointless..

  • svenne

  • OOHWUUUUUUUUUTT???

  • fuck off dont call it soccer -.- ITS FOOTBALL DAMN

  • @GoYaMnE i know right.....wtf does soccer even mean?

  • lol the onli reason why he done that was cause the whistle went lol

  • i don't give a fuck if you think that was unnecessary or not, that was epic!!!! how can you honestly hate on that

  • the whistle was blown anyway so it wouldnt of counted

  • @EliteMatt3289 no it wasnt, it was during the game

  • WTF THIS WAS AMAZING

  • ya when a fucking show's his skills in a match and it is successful, people call him an idiot, (that does not mean that i am a keeper, i prefer midfield position LOL)

  • Why the fuck couldn't he just use his hands?

  • haha what a faggot.

  • it would have been funny as hell if he missed the ball

  • @footballsoccerman710

lmfao i was JUST thinking that

  • @footballsoccerman710 how can hell be funny?

  • @thebananahog36 its a figure of speech moron

  • @footballsoccerman710 Hell is not funny!

  • if he missed that he would look like a fool

  • @kiwi703 i kno right lol

  • lol

  • Actually that was too easy for him. The ball was coming down as a low speed and predictable trajectory -- and for a professional like him, that was like nothing, not even careless ...

  • stay on this page and look under related videos its probably the second one... its says "Rene Higuita Scorpion save" it was in full speed this is a slow motion so ur wrong

  • @paulgreenfields

Actually he spotted the linesman flag for offside, so had nothing to lose

  • @KIWIAD00 even if a player was offside and the ball went in, it still would of counted because that player that was offside was not part of he play so it woul dof counted.

  • I know hu

  • I know uh

  • great save but why would you try that on football picth ?

  • it was a friendly match between Colombia and England, so the result didnt really matter, was just for fun, greetings from Colombia!

  • damn

  • The play was called offsides so he only did it for fun.

  • Thing is, it wasn't even a save, the ref already called a goal kick. You can see the players kind of moving away from the goal?

  • that was not called goal kick?

  • Yes it was, it was offsides...

  • Yes it was?

  • Comment removed

  • what never went out?

  • stupidist save ever if you look really hard you can find him trying to do it in a game and failing

  • haha I agree. It was a very stupid move. The manager would have been pissed if he missed that

  • what would of happen if he missed it with his feet?? every body would of been very pissed cause he was trying to be fancy

  • thats why you never see stuff like this in sports

  • Save???

what was he gonna save it from if it had been offsides???

    It was tight though

  • should be "Most Unnecessary Save(Soccer)

  • Fuck you ..!. ( `o`) .!..

  • that is not the greatest save ever.

  • Its the dumbest ever

If I were the coach, I would put him away from team for good

His act is too selfish. Wanting fame for himself and endangering his team

    Unacceptable

  • It was fucking offside lol, the whistle had been blown. Even if he missed it, it would not have been a goal. See how all the players stopped making an offensive move towards the goal? He was doing it as a bit of show boating... nothing else. There was no risk involved... only the risk of looking like a bit of dick head if he missed it.

Maybe next time pay a little more attention before you post?

  • Those players were so far off. I don't expect them to try to run towards it..unless maybe if they can fly

Well, good to know that it's actually an offside. If I were the couch, I would fire him if it were real. Right after de game

  • Rene' Higuita: the greatest clown to ever step on a football pitch.

  • trick was cool but he really wasn't that great a keeper some people seem to think he was cos of that..

  • yeah lol , funny thing is the referee had blown his wistle before he did that trick so it was prolly onpurpose

  • All of you are fucking idiots this guy is rene higuita he was a crazy goalkeeper and yes he did it to show off

  • i bet his team was losing 10-0 so he just tried it for fun.

  • nope, winning 2-0

    columbia vs england.

  • I dunno why I say this since everyone else has said it already but the game was over

  • every time im watching this i can't stop laughing ... hahaha

  • Look up Gordon Banks mate, now that's a save!

This guy was showing off because the whistle had gone and play had stopped.

  • That wasn't a "save." The play was stopped anyway, he was just showing off. It was directed right at him, so if it was in play I seriously doubt he would've done that.

  • i agree, any goalkeeper would be stupid to take such a risk during play, it could so easily have gone over his feet. but still nice one :)

  • any goalkeeper who took gymnastics could have done it

  • Unless it was a 5 goal difference. Over-overtime. And they were the losing team.

  • Not bad, i can´t do something like that...... :-(

  • they stopped only because the shot was directed right at the goal keeper its just that they didnt know he would save it like that

  • NINJA!

  • It was not stopped. I believe it happend at Wembley during a friendly match vs England in 1995.

  • no it wasn't

  • you might be right, but still it's an umbelivable move

  • they just started walkin cuz they know they were to far to do anythin!!! retard

  • insane dude

  • but stil cool!

  • my mum could save that

  • I was at this match at Wembley. Jamie Redknapp was flagged offside so Higuita did the scorpion kick as the goal would have been disallowed. It was a shit game that ended 0-0, if memory serves, so we needed some entertainment.

  • Way wrong... He wasn't even close to offsides... That was a Legit strike on goal... If you need to know what off sides looks like i'll find a clip for you

  • The linesman was flaggin...as mentioned I was there.

It was for one of the players in the box, in that case but it was not going to count which is why he did it.

  • To be offsides, you have to be past the last defender at the time of the ball being kicked, and before the ball touches the ground or the opponent player, you must touch it.... This guy took a shot on goal... It did not touch any player on his team that was past any defenders...

If the linesman was "flagging" He was probably either

    A. Flagging a foul for the center officiate to call, or

    B. A flippin idiot.

Center officiate would have called the player onside all day long...

  • did u notice that no one crashed after the shot THEY WALKED AWAY

  • your looking at the wrong team... Look at the players on the strikers team... as they run in on goal when he shoots...

    Accept it.. he's not offsides

  • thats cuz it was an easy shot, so they expect the keeper to save it...

  • He would have looked very red faced if he had of cocked that one up

  • wouldnt he just stop it with his hands just incase he missed it?

    That was pointless

  • if you don't try you can't win, if he didn't take the risk he'd have never been known worldwide for an amazing save

  • true. But if he screwed up he would have been known for that...

  • it's all swings and roundabouts, he didnt miss, and he made it

  • True.

  • coooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooollllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll

  • wats the point????

  • style

  • why would you do that when you could just grab it
