If you are a great fan of mariah, you can surely know that her mid-range is weaker in recent year but she can still belt the chorus. It's the same here and I love the chorus part in the performance very much. To some extent, it is better than in the past. Mariah's belting is more stable and the chorus is much more impressive because for such a woman, who have had ups and downs in her career, can really express her feeling in these 21 years in the song.
Well she sounded okay but towards the end I think she pulled it together! Twenty plus years of singing will take a toll on your voice but she proves that she still has it! If you don't believe me listen to "I Want To Know What Love Is" on her "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel" album and you tell me she still can't hit this live!

I don't think people understand, truly, how twenty years of singing can really do a lot to your voice.
Mariah's voice is her gold, of course she wants it to be at its best. Some days are stronger than others but goodness, she's been in the game twenty years. OF COURSE a toll will be taken on her voice. Most people who leave negative stuff on it do not sing themselves so they would not understand.

Her album songs are beyond perfect, amazing, she can make mistakes and fix them while recording her songs, that's why she's the best *SELLING* female artist, but when she has to perform them live is where we see if she really posseses that great talent we listen to in her albums. Unfortunately she doesn't have it, she's one of the singers with most lip synchs ever.

I think that people's are really harsh on her ... she's been signing for 20 years and yet everybody is criticising her voice condition!
