It's bad TV -- as generalized, linear and easy to follow as the network executives demand, because advertising dollars are a higher priority than critical reception. And in a show like this, fade-outs set to Coldplay are pre-packaged poignancy to distract from poor character development.

I find these network TV cop shows hard to stomach after watching The Wire, which shows what a cop show COULD be if it was written by intelligent people and cast with capable actors.
