Hey I got a question. In the film during Palmer's transformation scene, he's slighty smirking. But in the trailer, he looks scared and his mouth is wide open. Was that a deleted scene or was it just changed at the last minute?

@angel951ism no we hate the 2011 because it ruined the concept of the 1982 ! when i saw the new thing i was like "Oh my god this is gonna be awesome" but it just wasnt its like take old aliens and ruin them like they did in aliens vs predator and avp2 if you want my tip go watch the old movie you gonna like it more then the new one

@KingLOLface1 Saw it last week. This '82 version is better. The suspense is more expertly crafted, and the paranoia of not knowing who is the thing is more acute.

CGI effects can't make up for everything. Also, the 2011 movie is not a new version, it is the prequel that shows what happened in the Norwegian camp.

I've come to realize that there's nothing much here for me in Society, so maybe it's time for Antarctica. I'd like to say I'm a man of Science, like Blair and Fuchs, and I'd certainly like to say I'm a rugged, take charge Copter pilot with a hat that resembles a UFO (though I do have the beard) but that would all be untrue. I'm just a guy who would arrive at McMurdo and try to find fossils, aliens and whatnot in the ice, then give up and watch The Thing in the cozy rec room while smoking a cigar

When I was a kid my dad showed this movie to me. It took until my late twenties to not see the the creature that came out of Norris' chest when my room was dark. There have been other good, and even great horror movies. But nothing is The Thing.

when i was a kid around 12 or so, my gram gram watched the movie alien...scared her pretty good...then i saw the thing....damn near made me shit myself..i couldn't sleep for days afterwards.

@Johnlindsey289 umm hostel isn't really a horror film. its done in a comical sense. the director always puts a bit of comedy in his films. its not supposed to be to serious so yes i did laugh in hostel...i have them both on dvd.
