  • firstly im a big Joy Division fan, but im not so sure on this one, but i am at work and have it very quiet mybe it will sound better louder.

  • dunno y but i love it

  • where the hell can i download this?

  • basura pudrete hija de perra

  • Lol, I'm like the one guy on earth who appreciates this, considering he enjoys Joy Division and Missy Elliott equally (for different reasons, albeit).

  • This mashup is brilliantly done. Joy Division and Missy are so completely and totally opposite of each other yet this works. Great job!

  • Even the industrial-setting backgrounds line up visually. Eerie. : 0

Too bad many of both Ian and Missy's uberdefender fans won't see the beauty in this musical alignment.

  • Well I am a HUGE Joy Division fan and I acknowledge this is quite an interesting mashup. No hatin' here...

  • RESPECT!!!!

  • YEAHHHHH BBOOIIIIIIIIII

  • Ian Curtis <3

  • 0:09 to 0:13 who is that?

  • This is pretty freakin' good

  • this cracked me up!

  • this song is brilliant!

  • i think im gonna commit suicide

  • i agree :S

    this is awful

  • lol

  • OMFG LMAO... This is just too much, man. Joy Division AND Missy ??????? This made my day. I have seen and heard everything now...

  • don't like missy like said before but this is pretty good...it gives a positive touch to my favorite morbid and legendary band lol

  • This is one of the BEST Mash Ups I've ever heard! Totally opposite styles, but works Perfectly---THANKS!

  • can't stand missy eliott, but i like this...

  • Is this a rip-off of Malcolm McLaren or vice-versa?

  • This MashUp is extremely well done. Weird combination, totally at the opposite of each other, yet it is fluidly mashed,

  • sick xP

  • I LOVE this. IS there a way to get an mp3?

  • art meets art

  • it's sooooooooooooooo good.

  • it actually sound gudd

  • i love both of these songs but i just don't like them together ):

  • Best mash-up ever.

  • I wish I never saw your post.

  • very very dope mash-- wondering where you had get that Joy Division instrumental from..

5 Stars from me for this great mash!!!

  • Why? Because she's black?

  • the original love will tear us apart is way beter but as far as mushups go this still works well

  • Incredible, i'm not fond of Missy Elliot myself, but this mash up get makes me realise something, i don't hate her singing, i just don't like her music. If more rap songs were put to catchy music as this one, for instance, you could please the majority of the market, i believe.

  • totally one of the best mash ups ever made!!!

  • the very best all times mash up

  • !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • WTF is that cholo saying at the beginning of the song?

  • Are you telling me that Joy Division aint mainstream?

    Ha, give me a break.

  • Don't be offensive against this kid because of where he is from. It just makes YOU look stupid and overreacting to the situation. Anyways, what's so important about which genre s joy division. Who cares wich genre it is? It was not made to be a pretext for intolerance. Be nice, man. It is just great music. Appreciate it.

  • Yeah, I agree. I may have been drunk and/or in a bad mood when I typed that. Oh well...live and learn, right?

  • Gross

  • Still great :)

  • if you went on an african safari with her and rosie odonell, theres a good chance you may mistakenly shoot one of them

  • considering that these genres could not be more separated, and i have utmost respect for Joy Division... i have to say that, production-wise, this is absolutely brilliant.

I'm officially against it. but well done.

  • I have to agree with Gunson88; this is a horrifying thing to do to one of the best post-punk bands of all time! The man is dead & should be respected! It may seen like a narrow-minded thing to say, but this band's influence on most of today's bands can be heard & to do this to a classic song is just an atrocity!!

  • dorks like you will tear us apart.

  • i'm talkin about you cagedace68

  • Does anybody know the full name of this song (Joy Division?

  • Love will tear us apart

  • i love rock and missy. This is so cool

  • I think am gunna be sick, y dont ya just piss on ian grave asell, Ahhh I need 2 puke

  • seriously its good until missy elliot comes on

  • Thanx Missy, thanx Ian, and many many thanx to gifted Dsico.

  • To be honest Joy Division, is a much better representation of urban culture (mostly of Manchester and Salford), with it's songs of Urban degeneration, etc. than Missy Elliot will ever be able to present. Still this put a grin on my face.

In my eyes Joy Division's legacy wasn't passed onto New Order, but to The Smiths. (who continued those ideas of living within a decaying urban wilderness)

  • By the way people seem to be blaming Missy Elliot for this, when it's actually by a Club DJ. Who thought "Ooh what's this? 'Mish', and 'Mash', let's put em' together".

Neither party have anything to do with the Mash-up. (besides some DJ remixes are pretty cool, just look at the Happy Mondays, or Primal Scream for proof of that)

  • nooooooooo! i love missy ellliot and i love joy division, and this is sacrilege

  • WTf how dare i will fug up for that

  • HOW DARE YOU

  • rapping over joy division, that's fucking blaspheme, have some respect!!!!!

  • you know what. that riff does go well with rap but im sure theres a better rap vocal for this tune.

  • pas mauvais

  • this is freakin' amazing. 5 stars from me. did you mix it yourself?

  • foooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk stoooooooooooooooooopppppppppppppppppppppppppppppp

i willlllllllllllllllllllll killllllllllllllll youuuuuuuu one wayyyyyyyyy or anotherrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • pudreteeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • el lo mas mierda que he visto en mi vida

    pudrete pinche hiphopera

  • not too bad that, fitted fairly well. shame there wasnt too much Ian in it but yeah I liked it. Missy is cool as hell too

  • most horrible dissrespectful mash ever

  • kill yourself like ian

  • this is so fresh!

  • It's not bad... buy why Missy and joy divsion?

  • great singer

  • this is hilarious! i love that it's mixing decades & genres, haha.

  • wat da fuck have u done to the song, this is the shits shit on the shit, were u drank? wat were u thinking? GOD

  • Wow, you guys are jerks. Hip hop vs. rock? What are you, 12? Live and let live. (I'm a Joy Division fan, btw, and most of us are very nice, if slightly depressed.)

  • Joy Division would totally back racism as well. You win!

These songs fit together pretty well, technically speaking. Consider me entertained.

  • the smiths + mobb deep=awesome

    missy elliot + anything=terrible

  • amen!

  • ha! clever mashup! (folks don't understand what a "mashup" is. it is one song "mashed" with another, usually not produced by either artist, gosh!)

  • Die.

  • lol.

  • go fuck your self with your fucking websites

  • Genius

  • what pun, anyway meant as a joke.

But still I think itsa poor attempt.

All she done is rip the melody and steal some of

lyrics. She has not added anything.

I think she heard about the film coming out, and thought mmm I smell money here.

Sorry I gotta disagree with you other folks on this one.

  • wow, that was interesting :)

  • one of the best mashups I've heard so far!

  • A very innovative and rather brilliant mashup... speaking as a long time Joy Division fan.

  • LOL Of course Missy had nothing to do with this. Just like Nirvana and Destinys Child had nothing to do with it with their mash up.

  • o man this is bad. and not bad as in good, but

shite! Curtis would have had a fit if he heard it.

  • that pun was in VERY poor taste...

I think he'd like it. He may have been a pretty morbid guy, but I'm sure anyone with that amount of self-loathing wouldn't take himself as seriously as you take him.

  • I love this mashup! Its clever and they blend so well together!

  • this is the worst mash up i've ever heard.

  • I guess i can't fault Missy for being creative. you never know where your next musical inspiration will come from, so it's good that she'll listen to almost anything...

  • amazing fusion noice job :)

  • this is a fantastic mashup, big up to ya

  • Clearly your not a fan of good music then.

  • I love Missy Elliot and I love Joy Division. This was a treat for me, what can I say.

It's possible to like intelligent music and fun party music at the same time, you know.

  • I get your point. It's just that for someone like me (an old fart at 41!) who was around when Joy Division were together, you kind of take offense to this kind of thing. It would be different if the artist actually had knowledge of the band. Missy Elliott, I'm sure, has no clue of who Ian Curtis was. I don't take this kind of thing lightly as the younger, plastic generation does.

  • I know, but Missy Elliott had nothing to do with this mashup. A DJ named Dsico, apparently, put the two songs together. I don't think she commissioned it or anything. So...blame it on a guy's creativity, I guess?

  • I just realized that late last night. Boy do I feel like a jackass.

  • Cleary I'm not a fan of good music? How can you say that when you don't even know me?

  • Sorry Paulbuss. I just realized you weren't talking to me.

  • eggflesh is correct,go back to Hot Topic poser!RIP IAN

  • Why does she keep looking to the left? Is that where the lunch buffet is?

  • Ha! Someone deleted all my posts that contained foul language. Do me a favor and delete ALL my posts. Now it's all out of context.

    This is America, YOU CUNT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I just watched 1/2 the video. This fat bitch cannot dance. But I suppose Saxton will say she's the most influential dancer since Michael Jackson. Too bad Fred and Ginger couldn't come up with moves like hers, huh? I think I'm done now. Saxton is free to dump some heavy disses on me now...oooh boy! (shivers)

  • Well check out "Lose Control," then. And tbf, even when she's not dancing, I think she has great charisma and stage presence.

  • It looks like all of the recent posts are out of order. All of mine were aimed at Saxton.

You say Missy is a genius. "Missy be puttin' it down...O be da hottest 'round..." Wow, that's pure fucking genius! Mozart, John Coltrane, and Nicolo Paganini collectively couldn't come up with anything as brilliant, huh? HA! You're an idiot, Sax.

  • Who idolizes Joy Division? Okay, so they're not all over MTV with their booties shaking in the camera. They were done 27 years ago. They still have many fans after all these years. Do you think Missy Elliott will be held in higher regard than Ian Curtis 27 years after she dies? Doubt it. She's not the stuff of Legend. She's a plastic unit shifter for a plastic generation. The world may as well end. Today's generation will leave nothing behind to remember.

  • I like Joy Division, they're good! I also like missy elliot and she's good too....I'm dropping it now

  • Last comment, I was logged in as my saxton2007 by accident....what I will say is that if anyone ruined Love Will Tear Us Apart, it was Fall Out Boy with their version

  • Why is it that when someone criticizes a black "artist", they're labeled as racist? I hadn't said anything to make anyone think I'm racist. I think most people who throw that term around are white and want people to believe they're "down wit da struggle". Man, black people don't even like you, you posers.

Ian Curtis was a true artist. Missy Elliott cranks out the same music as if it were a bodily function.

  • By the way, I believe the only good album released by a hip hop artist in recent years is by a man who calls himself Philadelphia Freeway. Truly fresh and creative. If you call yourself a fan of this genre and you don't own this cd, you are a dumfounded dipshit.

  • Saxton, I am a big fan of Public Enemy and NWA. I have everything they're done. Don't assume you know me. At least I know something about rap history. You know nothing about the punk and post punk. By the way, the Clash were rapping before anyone.

You're probably a bunch of 12-year olds with Ipods spilling over with pop culture vomit.

    Suck on that, cunts.

  • In reply to a recent message, this goes out to all of you mindless cunts.

    ------------------------------

"You're obviously a spoon-fed pop culture sheep who knows nothing about who Joy Division was. Ian Curtis, singer and lyricist, wrote deep and meaningful lyrics. It's sacrilege that his song be used as a sample for one of Missy's disposable and meaningless hip hop travesties.

Ian Curtis killed himself in 1980. He left behind a legacy that effected and touched a lot of people.

  • Read 'Touching From A Distance' by his wife Deborah Curtis. That is, if you can read.

So, You know "fuck-all about anything". Get your empty head out of your ass and learn something. Your cd collection is no doubt shit.

    You are a mindless cunt.

  • By the way, I said NOTHING even remotely racist. You have nothing better to say and you're really reaching. Don't strain your brain.

And thanks to TALLGUYWALES! He knows what he's talking about.

  • EGGFLESH IS A FUCKING RACIST SCUMBAG

  • What a CUNT! Fucking hip hop cunts have no original ideas of their own. No talent fucking twat!

  • How dare she use a Joy Division song as a sample for one of her pieces of shiite!

  • Missy Elliott is a fucking genius! How dare call 'the hip hop cunts' talentless. You're disrespecting the most influential genre of music ever. Plus how the fuck can you call someone talentless you fucking ignorant cunt! AND DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON 'NO ORIGINAL IDEAS' Groups like Public Enemy, Wu-Tang, Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul and many others on thier debut albums released a sound that no-one had heard before. Fucking TWAT!

  • Who idolizes 'Joy Division' anyway? Racist!

  • Idolize Joy Division? I don't idolize any artists. It's about respect. This Elliott cunt I'm sure has no idea of who Ian Curtis was. Her grab-ass producer picked it out for her.

By the way, why do you have 2 accounts you post under? What a cunt.

  • this is a tragedy!

    seriously Fuck You!

  • ovo je totalno jadna stvar

this is very very bad stuff

  • love it!

  • ντροπη να κανετε τετοιες μαλακιες!!!

    stupid video!!!

  • ok with you is bad? sputid and dirty cover. Ian Curtis is dead then respect and glory for great man but Missy Elliott don't know this words/poor poor big woman...

    Glory GREECE CIVILIZATION

  • what is the connection between those two artists?

what is the purpose of that stupid remix?

and why somebody takes an historical track and mess it with an r'b artist?

and what about the stupid comment:"Glory GREECE CIVILIZATION"? what do you mean?

  • I cannot believe how well this works. Regardless of the criticism it receives (mostly from music snobs that don't believe Missy Elliott has anything to offer musically), it's a brilliant mash up. Bizarre to think it would work as well as it does.

  • it should never work but it does. Two vastly different songs and genres, oil and water mixed to perfection. Beyond brilliant. Would dance my arse off to this in a club.

  • yes indeed

  • awesome !

  • jerkoff

  • mmm...I kind of fall into the 'omg this is sacrilege - and ian curtis would be spinning in his grave!' BUT I kind of like it, goes against the grain, but in my humble opinion it is a pretty good tune. The haunting quality of the original has been lost granted, and replaced with a kind of fluffy pop sound - but if i had never heard the original i would still like this.

  • cunt

  • queit!

  • WTF!!!!

  • you make me sick

  • how dare thy ruin this song we dnt nedd ians memory tarnished with this shit

  • fat woman

  • Has the fat woman stopped singing yet?

  • Mayb its ment 2 b funny???

  • This just is not very good ... no not very good at all.

  • Ruined. These two songs do NOT go together

  • if u like all kinds of music it does go together

  • GARBAGE! CRAPPY ELLIOT! SORRY IAN!

    typical rap crap!

  • woah....that was...different

it like totally destroyed two perfectly good songs but nevermind

  • okay is right, WTF was that!?!

  • Completely blasphemous - what is this world coming to?

  • Why would anyone destroy such a beautiful song? No really! WHY!?!?!

  • oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooookkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

  • not only that but she's wearing a "motorhead" t-shirt..... who is she trying to fit in with??? this is an example of a "posuer" or poser..... she reminds me of a "wannabee" she has talent as is an artist but way to obvious that she's trying to hard to appeal to something that we all know she's not.... 0 stars

  • This is horrible, she completely destroyed the integrity of a classic... Perhaps she paid 1 million dollars to get the rights to destroy this song ...??? what a bummer no stars on this one.....

  • Blame the remaining mmbers of Joy Division for letting her use it?

    I like it myself.

  • chuuuuch
