  • Hi Chef

I made a few of these today. They puffed up brilliantly but only one got crispy. I had to re fry them in really hot oil, which is bad as oil heated at high temperatures is bad. Where did I go wrong?

  • @1slamicLife To make pooris crispy, poori's should be fried on a low flame oil(low flame bcoz it dont get burn).... cheerz...

  • @itsunknownid Thank you. I never would've imagined that to be the problem.

  • @1slamicLife if you leave then in longer the first time they will get crispy, be patient

  • @01716245502 First his adding a different tipe of flour and then, flour

  • hey hey hey.. i tried these.. they turned out so well.. majority of them puffed.. and everybody loved them.. i kneaded 2 cups sooji.. seperately.. but they made only 50 ..or even less.. u said 1 cup would yield abt 100.. but well i don't care as long as they turned out good.. and i had to fry each poori separately bcos they were so naUGHTY they wouldn't puff when i put 2 or 3 together..plus my hands have got stiff from rolling so many gappas ..but it was worth it.. thank you :)

  • @preetylaila1

i have no idea, but do you think you could put them in the oven for two minutes (not microwave, a normal oven)?

    i think that would help...

  • @preetylaila1

i am scared of that too.

i think it would help if before serving, you could put the puris in an oven for a few minutes...

that should help thme get crispy...

    all the best!

  • @preetylaila1 Hey...you should try using tortilla maker to press your puris flat...and then fry them...I gueruntee, all the puris will pop up and turn out crispy. My mom's been using this method for yrs. to make the puris

  • this guy talks a lot

  • hello vah chef!

PLZ PLZ HELP ME OUT!Y MY GOLGAPAS R NOT LIKE URZ.. THEY PUFFED OUT A liltle bit and they were so hard ....and from inside i can even c the sticky layers even i cooked it for so long..me and my husband hav tried it for thrice..but coudnt achieve the thing v want plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz help me out ....y the taste is change ,golgapas are thick and not puffing up perfectly.maachni

  • dear put some yeast in it and dough ko bohat thin belna ha oke

  • make sure the oil is hot enough (medium to medium high); make sure have rolled them out thin enough - they almost can't be too thin; try making them a little larger - the water inside creates steam that causes the puffing. Also, notice that he touches the pooris with the back of the spoon; pressing them around the edge and slightly in the middle will help.

  • i just made poori.....cant wait to eat they r so crunchy......yummy !! i still have to make pani ....lets go.....thx again

  • can yout tell me how to make spicy pani which you dip it in.help yaar!

  • hey all..

I am just 14 and wanna make the yummy gol gappay!

please give me tip for the pori.....

I don't wanna make it soft, wanna make crispy!!

  • Vah chef, can you plz help me out. When I made these, they were crispy. But while I was making them , and the time it took for all of them 2 be fried and then for me to sit an eat them. (roughly 10 mins) they had become soft. could you maybe tell me why?! Thanks a million!

  • you can try adding cooking soda while you prepare the dough.. that may help to maintain crispiness. Also add lesser amount of maida as well as luke warm water.

  • aIN PAKISTAN HEY ARE called GULGAPPAS AND n outlet HERE in JINAAH SUPER MARKET IN ISLAMABAD SERVES MOST DELICIOUS GULGAPPAS ALL OVER THE GLOBE.

  • @telugodu123 You idiot south Indian, how the fuck did you get into US? You don't even know how to write proper English.

  • @TheSuperdhruv Does it matter? THis is america, we speak american and we read and wright in american. I suggest you get the stick out of your butt.

  • @GrigoriZhukov Oh...I didn't know this is AMERICA and we speak AMERICAN....I thought we spoke English. Hahaha...you are such an idiot, I can tell by the way you 'WRITE' not 'WRIGHT'. You fucking dumbass.....hahahaha. Thanks for making me and others laugh on the way you 'WRIGHT'.......hahhahaha

  • Comment removed

  • @telugodu123 Yeah, americans are over senstives asses on the whole. ;^)

  • @telugodu123 Heh more like they use tap water xD.

  • @telugodu123 maybe the food was expired

  • @telugodu123 Probably the water, or unsanitary conditions from where you ate it.

  • @telugodu123

yes...you should not eat raw foods in india...when we go to india we buy bottled water, but in the pani puri stalls they use the same water that all indians drink.

  • @telugodu123 Yes, it did.

  • @telugodu123 i think that happens to most ppl who travel. :) and dont mind ppl speaking angrily at you, its not your fault Englisch is such a difficult language to learn ;)
