I have two ferrets myself, and in response to them stinking up the house.. They really dont smell all that musky. My male Wook smells a bit stronger than my female Took but not bad at all. Clean the liter box 2to 3 times a day and bath em every other month and they are good to go!

Most dogs and ferrets do get along fine, but I would be worried more about terriers and hounds, such as a daschund. Ferrets don't usually run from dogs like a hamster or other prey would so it doesn't trigger that prey drive in most dogs. But still, your terriers and hounds do have a much higher prey drive...

@scypion11 I have a daschund and he got along well with my ferrets (i have 3 of them). He was lazy and just slept a lot and when the ferrets would come up to play, he wouldn't do anything. We have a german shep and she also played with our ferrets. I think it just depends on the dogs personality.
