  • Does it HAVE to be whip cream frosting? Or any? :)

  • @krissyohgeez You can make this recipe your own and use the frosting of your choice.

  • like we didnt know how to make jello!

  • I make Jello poke cake a few times a year. I bake the cake in a 9x13 inch pan. Pour Jello over the cake(with holes made), refrigerate. For the topping I used 1 small pkg of Jello Instant Vanilla pudding only adding 1 cup of milk, mix well then add 2 cups of Cool Whip. Refrigerate till ready to serve.

  • what does the part with jello taste like???

  • @Mmelliix3 The JELL-O adds a nice strawberry flavor to the cake. But you can be creative and add any other flavors.

  • poke cake

    *giggles*

    I need to grow up.....

  • i made this before thye are so good

i used orange jello an blue already to

  • if i cut off the dome on the top bc i wanna stack them, will it afftect the jello in any way???

  • One of those times I tried doing this, it was no cinch doing it in cupcake form.

  • I tried this in two ways. First was in a single-thicker-layer with milk chocolate cake and black cherry gelatin (and that worked) and the second was cupcakes with both parts being lemon-flavored (that, however, didn't work neatly, as it was harder to put any gelatin on any cake that puffs over the inside of any pan).

  • Thank you for the influence. I decided on doing this using just one thicker layer (since I could only find one of those cake pans shown in this video), and I used chocolate cake and black cherry JELL-O gelatin, and I made a homemade frosting.

  • First, can this be done with lemon gelatin and lemon cake together?

Second, can this be frosted some way other than with any artificial whipped topping?

And last, can this be done in just one thicker layer?

  • And one more thing: would lemon cake with lemon-flavored jello be appropriate?

  • Can this be frosted some way other than any whipped topping or unfrosted? (My mom says Cool Whip has palm oil and that's not good for you.)

  • "POKE cake" *giggles *

  • She poked her nose before she poked that cake, as in she was digging all up in her nose, you can see her booger here 0:05

  • What the hell. Poke cake? Hahah.

  • But would your cake be soggy?

  • @MileyCyrusHMFan4Eva4 Hi MileyCyrusHMFan4Eva4-The cake wouldn’t be soggy, but actually very moist and flavorful due to the JELL-O. The cake stays firm because the gelatin becomes firm when refrigerated (before frosting the cake). The only way the cake would be soggy is by omitting the refrigeration, as you wouldn’t be giving the JELL-O time to set up.

  • i only watched this cuz it had the word poke in i:t :) hhaha

  • Just LOVE how she uses that plastic scraper to stir the boiling water, talk about releasing tons of carcinogens into the jello cake, mmmmmmmmm good! But who cares since this death will taste like strawberry?

  • I think thats make from silicon, is for hot stuff, you can even cook with that.

  • Sweet . . .Thank you so much, KraftCookingSchool . . . as the Cold weather is slowly approaching our city of Chicago, I look forward to turning on my gas stove and begin baking these delicious treats. And I find this 'Jello & Cake' dessert to be a little lighter & a little less fattening than a lot other cakes can usually be. Thanks again.

  • I want to make this 'Poke' cake w/ jello . . . Question: Is the 2 cups of COLD water needed to add to JELLO, as the Boiling water was ??? Or is the Hot Water ONLY sufficient ?? . . . I remember making this cake Y-E-A-R-s ago but cannot remember if I had added the cold water along w/ the hot water to the jello mixture.

  • @herrstix All you need is the 2 cups of Boiling water for this recipe. No cold water is needed.

  • They were popular in the '80's and now making a " comeback ".
