I was so happy to see this video but saddened to see College Hall has closed. My best friend and I studied abroad at the Univ. of Leicester and we lived at College Hall in 1990. I lived in C block and she lived in a house across the street. It was the most amazing 7 months. Everyone was so nice to the two Americans - and had many many happy times in the college hall pub as well as great times at the Paddock Pub across the street (is that still open?)
zzapper: whoever you are, thank you for this...! Lived there in '77-78, C Block--was the American bloke there for a year (a shout-out to Meyrick--who may not remember me, but I remember him!). Heartbreaking as it is to see this, my memories of walking these pavements, hanging out in the JCR, raiding Latimer (!), and generally living it up are as fresh as ever. It made me think of us as we were, impossibly young and good looking.....Hoisting a pint to you all--cheers!
I lived here, in A Block, between 1976-1978; two whole years. I met my wife, to be, Deborah when she moved into Latimer House in the 77/78 term. We still live in Leicester and passed College Hall recently. We were only passing and didn't stop but I wondered at the time if it had been closed because it did appear to be derelict. Meyrick
That brings a lump to the throat - lived there from 79 - 81 in C block and Gardiner house. i heard that demolition redevelopment was being halted by a Badger set on the site of the blocks. Many fond memories of my first home from home.
@Kita4650: it's the CRADOCK...! (Few too many pints, eh?) Still there. (And did C block go coed or all-females in the '90s? Crikey...)

I had heard that the Hall was closing down; it all looks very sad. I believe the A-E Blocks are listed buildings ...
I was there 1974-76 and 1977-78, and remember Meyrick and Deborah mentioned below.
