There were a few spots where this car could have trimmed a bit of time. It oversteered quite a bit around the track, but a 7:26 on Nurimburgh is a decent time. If the vette had a bit more balls in 6th gear it would have been even better. I think if he put a bit better gears in the diff he could have done better too.

You know, the guys who do their own maintenance on their own cars. On the other hand your "v6 gtr" has supercomputers which I heard from a real car enthusiast , adjusts the suspension. Real car enthusiasts who own that car probably scrap it like a disposable condom after trying to trouble shoot it once. I am starting to think that maybe you do not know what you are talking about, that your sitting at your computer thinking what a beehive your going to stir.

Also I may not know much about cars but I do know that plastic can be better in race conditions because it weighs less besides the fact, your " zonda r " is completely out of most peoples budget, and so is your overpriced "sunshine and farts" automobile which failed its expectations enormously for people who bought them to fail again in that race. I think the Zr1 is more affordable and more importantly real car enthusiasts can trouble shoot..

@CYB117 well not as fast as the 599xx, it wasnt but around 30 secs slower. this in a car where the driver had 1 hand on wheel, other shifting. the ferrari had paddles no? this also had an airbag, and the stereo installed amongst other thigns. = extra weight. this was a killer run imho
@yamahonkawazuki yeah well the 599xx is a purpose built track car so of coarse its going to be a monster and paddles do make a huge difference in a race car
The 911 GT2 RS is on the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup competition tires. I wish GM would offer these as an option because they are the next step up from the Pilot Sport PS2 ZPs.

Driver certainly deserves some credit for doing this in a stick shift. I like stick, but it seems like pretty common wisdom that paddle shifters + DCT are better for the track.
I hate corvette, but mad respects.to the driver.
