@limo4001 Mm, actually, no. The houses in Chile [there are a lot of earthquakes in Chile also, we just had a huge one on February last year] aren't wood built, but they have a flexible thing inside D: idk what it's called, it helps the house move with the earthquake so it doesn't fall or break or anything :)! Plus, Japan has waaaaaay more things than we do, so they could probably do something better. So I highly doubt it's something like that.
Krasni :D I'm a Japanese language teacher and I'm using this clip to show the students a typical home. I can't believe the rude comment made below! Some people are so ignorant! Thanks for this :D When I lived in Japan there was no such thing as digital video. Spaciba
it is possible to be able to write a language and not being able to speak it. my mother tongue is spanish and i can , for example, write and understand dutch, but i cant speak it...
id love to have a traditional japanese style back yard and room, when i get my own place. not necesarly the whole house. i got mixed cultures that id like to put into my house, but japanese influence is the one id definetly focus on
I want to move to Japan when I'm older, this video only solidifies that :)

Я случайно нашла это видео и очень рада, что посмотрела его.
Благодарю за этот интересный фильм!
Меня интересует, как бумага на оконных рамах сохраняет тепло, ведь Япония не очень теплая страна?

Why wood house is standard in Japan ? The reasons are
#1. Japan has much earthquake. Stone house is danger at earthquake time.
#2. 2/3 of land is wood mountains in Japan. We can get trees any place.

Как я понял все комнаты соединены между собой? Никаких коридорчиков нет?
ljuc 1 year ago
@ljuc Коридоры-галереи по краю дома. И один внутри, отделяет старую часть дома от перестроенной (где кухня, ванная и туалет).
А комнаты таки все соединены. Можно убрать двери-фусума и будет одна большая комната.

@1972megan Perhaps you might be interesting in my last two videos: old style japanese hotel (hatago). This hotel is at least 200 years old.
Sorry, I speak Russian there again.

@1972megan I completely agree with you. There was no need for that rude comment that mellyvel1 put. I think all languages are beautiful.
