It's up to the developers, Nintendo can't do so much if developers don't want to make great games on Wii. Nintendo try to keep up with Sony and Microshit when it comes to third party but most devs are pretty skeptical, so instead they give the Wii the horrible shovelware games. Most third party are for the graphics nowadays. Square Enix are bunch of Sony fanboys and graphic whores.
Ok, so imagine being a kid. You want to play your game, but mom is doing her aerobic workout with your console... Nintendo's goal should be: to bring the family closer together with great games. Developers are more focused on innovation than the games themselves. People buy an entertainment system to be entertained. We do not need another household appliance. Just make compelling games. A classic is remembered in the hearts of all despite the technology.
Think about your mom or dad buy there kids playstation everytime a new one comes out. And all your doing is moving your thums. I bet your mom is tired of buying the same thing over again with little change. Wii is made for you to get into the game. And wii fit is one of the best way to do that. Heck your grandpa might just get his grove back. Plus the wii is more more stable then other consoles.
Just think bigger than this... it won't stop at fitness, like the revolutionary controller systems, this will bring about a new way to play games in the future. this device, if used creatively, can be the innovation of the next generation virtual game play or it'll be condemned for its dull use. i would definately want to play resident evil using both devices using leans to perform dodges or movements and if implemented in the wii sports boxing game, one can actually move in all directions rather than just side to side. same with other sport games. i look forward to its more advanced functions
if the wii board and zapper combined its usage in a game with intense graphics, we can re-live the days of Time Crisis or any first person shooting game that'll utilize the use of the board to make games more realistic using both weight and motion sensors to control the movement of the char. i just hope the wii graphics can keep up with the realism that's defined in xbox360 or ps3.

I guess if I think of it from a company's perspective, then addressing the idea "Video games help kids become obese" was necessary...so the Wii Fit is the answer to that.
From a traditional gamer's POV this may seem stupid but I think Nintendo is going after a new market. FPS crowd might not like it but if Nintendo can get people who don't usually get video games, their money is as good as "gamers."

this device, if used creatively, can be the innovation of the next generation virtual game play or it'll be condemned for its dull use. i would definately want to play resident evil using both devices using leans to perform dodges or movements and if implemented in the wii sports boxing game, one can actually move in all directions rather than just side to side. same with other sport games. i look forward to its more advanced functions

if the wii board and zapper combined its usage in a game with intense graphics, we can re-live the days of Time Crisis or any first person shooting game that'll utilize the use of the board to make games more realistic using both weight and motion sensors to control the movement of the char. i just hope the wii graphics can keep up with the realism that's defined in xbox360 or ps3.

If u guys havent notice, this is the basic concept for 8th generation gaming, no controls, all sensor based gaming which I think will be what people love the most. Nintendo did a great job, althought this game which is consider lol... cause of its lame craps features, like basic workout... However, this will most bring about a revolution in gaming industry!

From a gamer's POV, I think this is kinda dumb.
I guess if I think of it from a company's perspective, then addressing the idea "Video games help kids become obese" was necessary...so the Wii Fit is the answer to that.

From a traditional gamer's POV this may seem stupid but I think Nintendo is going after a new market. FPS crowd might not like it but if Nintendo can get people who don't usually get video games, their money is as good as "gamers."
Then again this might just be the Power Glove of the 21st Century.

The Balance Board has possibilities, though. I hope they don't abandon it if this game fails.

I have to admit that sometimes Nintendo are going too far for things like this. It might help us to tell our conditions to see if we are improving or not but Wii Sports is as good enough as it is.
