This is the best arrangement I have ever heard of this piece. I love how the ensemble plays in complete sync with each other. NICE WORK on this piece. I hope to do something like that for a percussion ensemble of some sort. It is AMAZING!!

Hahaha, i love this song and i love perc combos like this. My rock band plays this song. And in the actual Mario 2 game when you paused it, the music wouldn't stop, only the bass part would continue. They most likely didn't do that because nobody would pick up on the reference except nerds like me. . :-)

Yes I was thinking the same thing - brilliant bit of music, but in the actual SMB2, there was no "Nee-No Nee-No" when pausing the game, and as you say, only the bassline of the theme played during the pause screen.

I just saying the song keeps playing in Mario 2 when the game is in the pause mode. They could have just as easily used the music that plays when the game is paused, cause there is some variation in the two.

I'm putting together a SMB Medley right now, and this gave me some real inspiration. Unfortunately, I'm having trouble with getting the SMB2 theme to fit (mostly trying to convert it to convert to 4/4 time, change the key signature, and do this for multiple instruments, all in finale notepad, which I haven't figured out how to make a signature change). I hope you don't mind if I borrow the pause! That was classic!

Well SlipknotDJ, as a remix artist I do indeed actually play a number of musical instruments. And turntablism is form of musical instrumentation. I mainly play synthetic instruments like keyboards, turntables and vinyl, and DJ software. However I also play guitar and sax.

All I'm suggesting is that the rest of the group needs to be acknowledged and that the soundtrack for Castlevania III is more challenging.
