  • whats the Fela track used here?

  • i will always defend Beyonce on that account, and i will defend her husband because he too is very RESPECTFULL of his african origins and his west african antecedents... however OPRAH AND P DIDDY are entirely another matter..

  • for those who think FELA ANIKULAPO KUTI was some random african who found his voice in the usa think again,,, CHECK OUT "GINGER BAKER'S DOCUMENTARY ON FELA "its on the net if you want to see the real thing, the power behind this man's voice go and watch his original performances, nothing comes near to that and nothing will ever come near the REAL THING.. but there is no harm IN TRIBUTES and if the WESTERN WORLD IS CATCHING UP TO THEM, that can only be a good thing for all.

  • did not APPRECIATE "BABA" .. is a disingenious statement here, and totally ignores what was going on in NIGERIA. its INSULTING to OUR CULTURE, our HISTORY in OUR COUNTRY. but am kinda used to americans making those type of statements , totally dismissing our struggles and completely removing them to try and replace them with their story .. er .. NO.

  • Fela was one of my fav's I saw him perform before he passed away the memory will forever be in my heart. I believe in freedom of expression and I believe you did a good job. Sure all want agree but opinions are like ass holes everyone has one. Keep Fela's memory alive and keep introducing him to people who would have never heard him music.

  • @ColdasIcePrincezz you read my mind..

  • i understand the others' moral objections to the banal lyrics that beautiful beyonce has substituted over the deep political lyrics of fela's original deep insights, but musically i deeply this poster for recognizing the obvious musical rip off, and it definitely shows that beyonce was lucky enough to not only be beautiful but also have some good influences.

  • @roguerru thats why i will not totally hate on it, she is trying which is more than can be said for many of her contemporaries, will ever do. because of the influence of her husband who is very enthusiastic about west african cultures especially anything to do with nigeria since he traced dna to northern nigeria, she has also embraced some of that interest .. check out her rendition of our national anthem when she came to perform in nigeria .. she is RESPECTFUL at all times.. i appreciate that.

  • it doesn't really flow. Im sorry but you messed a really great sound and a good song. i kind of understand what you u were tryina do but it's not working out. Maybe if u left part 2:08-2:45 and put in someting else maybe it would work because part 2:08- 2:45 was kind of dope.

  • Uh, you might wanna work on that one.

  • This is not for anyone who does not know the power of the Divine and Righteous Ancestors! These people have no shame! There is enough information technology available and they have enough money to know that Fela nor his mother would not ever appreciate this. It is exactly in opposition to what he was about, his teachings, his wisdom, his sacrifice!. Oh but that must be why you are doing this!

  • @queentotheworld you are right , but as a nigerian , a yoruba woman, i take a step back and understand where this type of exposure will lead too, it will lead others to explore further and see original recordings and many will now be able to find out for themwselves , it isnt that this information was never available but not many have had exposure to its existence.

  • Beyonce's Raw Soulful Strong Beautiful Black Regal Womanness: FELA WOULD HAVE LOVED HER!!!!! Thank You for Opening my ears and eyes to a Fresher way of experiencing sound, influence and the possibility of the future of music. Fela was Inspired from sounds that he himself saw the future in in his early years. I'm certain many people werent appreciating what he was doing at the time. It took some time for it to catch on. :)

  • @joyous3030 you are wrong, it did not take time for fela to catch on .. we always knew him he is one of our own it took time for YOU to catch on in AMERICA .. thats all, he was always popular with a particular group in america for yrs he toured but he was not open to you because your view of africa has been clouded by the media... of course fela anikulapo kuti was inspired by his sourjourn in the usa but that is only one fraction of his story its not the whole story at all.to say we did not

  • ugh this is terrible, she hated on good music

  • Shame on U! honte à vous!!!!AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!! quelle horreur!!!!!!!

  • stop destroying Fela's music with this immoral shit

  • fela wouldn't aprecciate this

  • @romanosxxx90 fela never went commerical he wouldnt have appreciated it but then again he isnt here and cannot influence the way his music is now being presented by those who are furthest away from it and what it represented to us in nigeira .. but its okay because it will make some of them curious as to who he was and the culture he came from .. thats a good thing

  • how can such an amazing artiste do this fake pregnancy shit?

  • weerk

  • so nice
