  • it sounds different ingame somehow

  • Nostalgia is high, indeed. Make this game free so I can start playing it again. I wanna craft bows and sell them on the broker.

  • @EnzoScifo They did make it free :)

  • @Asellusheretic I was abroad for 2 months, I didn't know this. So i can reactivate my account and play it just like before for FREE, not missing out on anything?!

  • @EnzoScifo Sadly you have to either pay money to unlock all your stuff or have a monthly sub to unlock everything. I have a level 80 dirge but I can't even equip my mythical because I do not have a sub :( It just doesn't feel like the same game as it did before. It's lost it's charm. It was a great game though and probably still has some vitality left in the new expansions which I have not played.

  • EQ is by far right up their with ultima online for best mmo's in the world, unlike cataclysm update (an utter disgrace to warcraft!)

  • Why do I feel sad when I hear this?

  • @KingCajete Same here...especially with the commonlands theme. I remember running around there for hours...those were the days.

  • Remember when Antonica, Thundering Steppes, Nektulos, and the Commonlands where populated? now no one goes there because the starting islands are gone :(

  • lol SO many memories. God the nostalgia high is amazing.

  • I remember when I first found the griffontower...and my friend showed me Blackburrow. I was sure I would never get back alive.

  • This game kicked ass until you left Antonica or the Thundering Steppes, to a lesser degree.

They rushed release because of WoW and only worked heavily on the starting zones (except for the evil side, lol).

  • @kirawen EQ2 extended is free. it just doesnt have all the features, sadly. you'd need a silver, gold, or platinum membership for more features.but im getting along fine with copper.

  • @Skijaramaz probably in the US, here in Europe you've got to pay after about two weeks D:

  • @Skijaramaz which, incidentally, made me start up my old DDO account again!

  • @kirawen It has a free to play server now. :)

  • I love how it goes from waltzing, to hitting you with a bunch of sound, to a nice serene sound, to a very intense sound, alternating between all of them randomly. Describes the zone very well: so much happening, and so much to explore; a mystery, yet familiarity. So warm, and wants you to keep going. Also reminds me of randomly seeing people running away from huge trains of mobs across your screen xD.

  • the classic music for the zones was so much better than the music they have now...veteran eq2 players ftw!!

  • @Dmaster311 I'm sure there are veteran players in EQ2, but it seems kinda weird for me. I remember when EQ2 was way far away, and everyone read Skatergnome from EQ1. That was 10 years ago :(

  • Wonderful music, of course. Spending all those hours in Antonica, the memories...

  • Oh Antonica, spending forever harvesting those nodes...glad I came back to you :)

  • Man oh man, the memories are flooding back. I used to spend hours grinding the scarecrows in Antonica.

  • Dacian, Dacian, Dacian... That sounds familiar. It's been so long (in my mind) that I can barely remember any of my last guildmates names. Heh, and yes, I was the guy who liked ketchup on my pringles ('Cuz come on! They are just potatoes! Just add ketchup!)

  • @Akseptance Hmm im downloading the trial version now never played.

But really...ketchup on pringles? Ruins it man they dont make that snap sound when you crunch down.

  • i think the music made me come back and play it after 5 years :P

  • jesus i miss this game even though i was just 14 when i played it'

you know what!? - i'm going to start playing this again

  • @Cycon91 -cheers Cycon on- Since it's been 4 months since you've posted that, How did it go?

  • This is really becoming nostalgic :) It's so peaceful. I had to say good bye to my character at somepoint though. Rest in piece Vladden Of'Hellsing, Hunter of Vampires. Getting you to level 80 and raiding with you was a pleasure. Befallen server, props for making this such a fun experience.

  • I remember you vlad we were in CK 2gether I think dood. Befallen server my characters name was dacian. U like ketchup on ur pringles!

  • Ah, the memories of Antonica. It's really a great orchestral song, and I believe it captures the essence of the zone perfectly.

  • Thx for this one!
