  • Apostolic is the truth

  • @devanturner46 Umm... this is Church of God in Christ

  • @ElvisLewisJr You Tell em

  • Lets go back to the old landmark, now a days the convocation seems like a place to shocase your hat or dress. I'll take the annointing anyday.

  • Wow this is classic!!! Praise God for technology. This was 31 years ago I wonder where they all are now; I mean the ones who are still alive.

  • Now this is church... I remember church like this...YES YES YES...

  • It's unfortunate to hear ppl from the same organization argue about things that are so trivial! Certainly God can move WHENEVER & HOWEVER he pleases! He'll move in your heart if you let him! Great footage!

  • Where is this at? The Church of God in Christ needs to go back to this. Cause at St. Louis it wasnt nothin compared to this.

  • @truthpentecostal This was in good ol Memphis TN at the Cook convention center!

  • @mrtheoneandonly83 never got to experince the convocation in Memphis. My ex pastor Adjutant, Overseer Perry has told me about it, back in the day

  • Where is this at? The Church of God in Christ needs to go back to this. Cause at St. Louis it wasnt nothin compared to this. Lets Go Back to thee Ole Landmark

  • Where is this at? The Church of God in Christ needs to go back to this. Cause at St. Louis it wasnt nothin compared to this. Lets Go Back to thee Ole Landmark

  • how i wish we could go back to the old time way of having CHURCH! now we are so stuffy and starchy until we can't come to the conventions and give GOD praise for more than 10 min. we have to make room for all the empty and meaningless remarks and expressions from people when it's really supposed to be ALL about GOD!

  • Thank you for this posting. It is a blessing.

I do believe that the people who REALLY want GOD will find him wherever we are.

To those who don't know, our Holy Convocations begin with a month of Fasting, REPENTANCE, Reflection, rededication and committment. Some comment who have not attended, but you can't beat first hand experience! I've been there to witness the prescence of God! At any Denominational Conference you'll find ANYTHING you want there, sadly including ungodly behavior! PRAY!!!

  • Does anyone know when cogic switched over to formal attire? I referring to the collars, etc. Just a random thought

  • @whatuwatchingjoe Are you asking when it became official? You can find find pictures of COGIC ministers and prelates wearing the clerical collar as far back as the 1930s or earlier.

  • bishop c.d owens when he was young@ 1:25

  • WE NEED CHURCH LYKE DiZ NOW MORE THEN EVER

  • WOW ! This is like alter call in my home jurisdiction...

  • this is wht i grew up on/in brings me back I'm 27

  • People dont fear God like they use to!! Everything now is instant an instant generation. But to God be the Glory!! People were more as one back than; than now!! But, bless God some of us got something to hold on to!!! Praise him!!! Go head and Bless God in the Name of Jesus!!!! YYYYEEESSSS Suh!! Be Blessed!!!

  • Please restore us Lord!

  • The Holy Ghost is not constrained to a physical location. I sincerely hope it's not being implied that convocation can't be like this just because the church is meeting in St. Louis instead of Memphis? It could very well be that this geographical change will signify a spiritual change! Pray that the Lord would have His way in St. Louis!

  • @antical79 My first point was that we don't have church like this in MEMPHIS anymore...

  • @antical79 Thank you Elvis----please antical the point again is its not like this any more----- why even think of going any where else (st. louis) and we dont even see a move of God like this in the current location (memphis) any more

  • @henryhar Because the move to St. Louis isn't because of spiritual reasons; it's because of practical reasons. If some of the saints would spend as much time praying for the convocation in St. Louis instead of complaining about how it's not in Memphis, we would REALLY see a move a God in November.

  • @antical79 Let's get the Holy Ghost manifestation like this at our convocation in Memphis FIRST before we try to go to St. Louis--- AMEN?

  • @henryhar A manifestation of the Holy Ghost is totally unrelated to geographical location. We are under the new covenant, not the old.

  • @antical79 I agree however----I repeat-Let's get the Holy Ghost manifestation like this at our convocation in Memphis FIRST before we try to go to St. Louis--- AMEN? Let's get the first works done right at home before going anywhere else-

  • @henryhar Looks like the Lord didn't have a problem with Holy Convocation in St. Louis, as He showed up in a mighty and powerful way. He's much less hung up on geographical locales than we are!!!

  • Are those chior member in the red apart of the south west MI state chior?

  • @TheFirecogicuk No, they're part of the National COGIC Convocational Choir. They're compiled from all of the jurisdictions of the denomonation.

  • i'm not shocked but suprised that the meetings aren't this sanctified anymore i visited bishop Haynes' convocation at saintsvillle and after he preached like crazy he was working the altar with his elders and it was just like this -praising all into the morning- i figured the national church was stil the same

  • Thanks for this. I wish the church would remember where we've come from.

  • "...look like everybody ought to tell the Lord thank ya..." HA!

Where the bishops at now? Encased by the Great Wall of Adjutants being ushered out in wheelchairs, on walkers and canes...

They don't work the altar like that in the Meeting no mo - and that's what was attractive to me

  • The sad part is--the convocation these days is faaarrrrrr from this----and they wanna go to st. louis---geez I wish we could go back to this wow

  • @henryhar Oh God....Don't get me started about St. Louis!

  • @ElvisLewisJr I agree... I just booked my hotel for Convocation '10... Not gonna be the same. I just wish we could go back to Ol Fashioned Holiness!

  • @ElvisLewisJr Wow I see alot of you all are not in agreement with St Louis decision

  • you gotta post the choir from that service. They sang "I Just wanna please Jesus!" Twinkie rocked the house!

  • Twinkie in the Background Killin dat Organ

  • man im going to hurt you where in the world did you get this? LOL

  • ElvisLewisJr! please don't make me have to find out where you are and hunt you down to raid your video collection... where do you get this stuff! JESUUUUUS! Please don't stop posting!

  • Man, those were SERIOUS alter calls... We need to go back to the old way. CALL HIM!

  • @Atldarknight Bishop Owens was followed by Bishop J.D. Husband and then Bishop Patterson again, and then Bishop Bell. This was the 1980 Holy Convocation

    Official Day.

  • We need an old fashioned altar call like this

  • We need the old time

  • Look at Bishop Owens he was skinty

  • LOL! Yes! And still powerful! And a humble man of God.

  • @Darneloh Yes Sir!
