I think also in the painting of the lady, the white cloth and the angelic look on her face, aided by the light, shows that we have a better side to us removed from the obsession with the material

I really admire Berger for both giving us a theory and showing the exceptions

thanks for this. haven't seen this wonderful series for years and enjoyed it immensely watching it again. a truly groundbreaking series that brought together marx, benjamin, brecht and others in the world of art and media criticism. should still be compulsory viewing in all high schools.
