ever since they patched the assassin to where you cant go invisible while back stabbing, i stopped playing. that was CRUCIAL to the assassins abilities. People just bitched cuz they didn't think it was fair, but in a game like this theres never gonna be a 100% balanced match.
@YaikonMetal I manage Assassin just fine without that cheap crutch garbage like you use to do when cloaking while stabbing was a thing. Go farm bot kills and juice on someone's turrets if you can't prove useful in any other way. I guess we're better of if you "stopped playing" just because an exploit was dealt with.

@TheEvalButterfree The scout is the best class in general for non-pub play. You may want to watch actual good players play, since then you'd know spy is hit unless you backstab only once, die, and then reswitch to any of the main classes of competitive TF2.
I haven't been playing for long, but so far my favorite is gunner. Been using a Golden Accuracy Endorsement, and it just steamrolls pros, expecially once you get double cannons.

It's so fun switching to assassin to repeatedly backstab that sucker. Soon enough he's focusing more on finding me than headshotting my teammates.

Sounds like you just got caught not paying attention. More often than not, if you actually spot the assassin coming, you can easily survive if you know what to do. Jump and fly with assault, ground pound with gunner if she's close (minigun if she's not since...well, MINIGUN), light 'er up with the tank's main gun and use the rocket dash to increase distance, use the spy's traps to freeze her in place. Support has shotgun and turret. It's not that hard.
The best part is you can actually spot the noobish ones a mile away. They will refuse to attack you with anything but a backstab or, if they're really desperate and you're a lightly armored class (sniper), a grapple from the front. This makes them laughably easy to kill, and I even took out two of them as an assassin in a single fight, since none of them could do anything but try to grab me. The good ones are flat out terrifying though, and may even blind before they grapple.
@SethWynd Actually, when I first started using the assassin, I was so noobish I couldn't even grapple them. :p Then I figured out the dash does a lot of damage if done right(it even one hit kills sometimes).

@PhantomBerserk The assassin class is a very difficult class. The hit detection for back stabs is just God awful. It's incredibly difficult to get a back stab while running, and most people will notice an assassin once it's close. And many times perfect back stabs don't even insta-kill!

@PhantomBerserk actually assult is cheap all they do charge you and anyways assasin is not overused usually im the only one on my team who is one and 2 assassin has very low armor easy kill probably the most skill needed to get used to that class because its not always 1 hit kill(unless from back which is sometimes hard to do) grapples take long time to recharge and the regular strike sorta sucks, very hard to get juice

@403988 The spy is dismal compared to the Assassin. The assassin moves much faster than the spy even without dashing, she can take enough damage to cloak and retreat, her cloak is much harder to see through, and it charges quickly enough to actually serve more than a one time use.

Lets say that you are facing a large group of enemys, the assassin can do a grapple on one of them (not a gauranteed kill) and it takes so long to do this! It takes about 3 to 5 seconds and you can take damage while doing a grapple. So lets say you pull off one kill, well that's great because your not doing another one thanks to the cooldown.Thus making the assassin a suicide class!

And even if it were three or four on one, you simply use your powerful dash attack, making you hard to hit, whilst doing much damage. And okay, what would the spy have done? He would have died.

And even if the scream didn't happen, like it does in TF2, that attack really isn't very fast. The spy's only method of deception is his disguise, and everybody instantly figures him out when he doesn't go off on his own, the Assassin is faster, stronger, tougher, and better. I have played as both of them, unlike you.

To be honest, I've seen the reviews for it and the gameplay. It's nothing like TF2. the assassin is the most over-used, noob, annoying class in the game
it's cheap, no skill, wasted class in a great game
i choose the assault class, cuz its balanced n' i like that it was so bad i was playing with an opposing team w/ 4 of them!?! like WTF!!! so MNC players, please use a different class that actually uses some work 2 it, fuck assassins!!!

@PhantomBerserk The assassin class is a very difficult class. The hit detection for back stabs is just God awful. It's incredibly difficult to get a back stab while running, and most people will notice an assassin once it's close. And many times perfect back stabs don't even insta-kill!

ok, then say if the dood has upgraded the dash/cloaking ability all the way, cloak then by the time hes ready to backstab, i dont realize and get fucked over...
its just that the other classes r easier to use, but the assassin is a cheap-shot class thats so overused, cuz of the stupid class, my deaths always come up 2 my kills

@PhantomBerserk actually assult is cheap all they do charge you and anyways assasin is not overused usually im the only one on my team who is one and 2 assassin has very low armor easy kill probably the most skill needed to get used to that class because its not always 1 hit kill(unless from back which is sometimes hard to do) grapples take long time to recharge and the regular strike sorta sucks, very hard to get juice

@Calgaryrocks16 i agree. i think that assult is the most overpowered simply because of his charge. but then again, sniper has traps...and the two heavy units can mount which does a large amount of extra damage... overall the game is so unbalanced between the classes, and thats what balances the game.

Am I the only person who can't kill anybody with this class. I have serioulsy cloaked, come up behind another assassin and grabbed them yet they still lived!!! HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE!?!

only times i die when fully upgraded assasin is when i try to rape a gunner from behind when all of a sudden, hes attacked by what i like to call a "failsassin" in which an idiot runs at him without a cloak and trys to knife him to death, the gunner then does a body slam to push him away, also damaging me and sending me flying, either off the map or next to an enemy, then they can see me and shoot the crap outa me.

@403988 The spy is dismal compared to the Assassin. The assassin moves much faster than the spy even without dashing, she can take enough damage to cloak and retreat, her cloak is much harder to see through, and it charges quickly enough to actually serve more than a one time use.

@ninetails593 I'm guessing your not a very good spy :P The spy is WAY better the the assassin! Lets say that you are facing a large group of enemys, the assassin can do a grapple on one of them (not a gauranteed kill) and it takes so long to do this! It takes about 3 to 5 seconds and you can take damage while doing a grapple. So lets say you pull off one kill, well that's great because your not doing another one thanks to the cooldown.Thus making the assassin a suicide class!

@ZombieMonkey7 Well let's say that you're a GOOD Assassin! You cloak and make your way behind them, assassinate the support, cloak, and move away. Next, you drop into the middle of the crowd, smoke bomb, and retreat. After two of three have been killed in battle, you assassinate the last of them, the end. And even if it were three or four on one, you simply use your powerful dash attack, making you hard to hit, whilst doing much damage. And okay, what would the spy have done? He would have died.

@ninetails593 You know what a spy would have done? He just would have backstabed them all in one swoop and the enemy won't even have a chance to blink let alone attack. The assassin might be faster and stronger (in terms of attack) then the spy, but the spy use deception and lighting fast reflexes to take out entire teams, if you know how to use him

@ZombieMonkey7 He would have backstabbed one, the screams would alert the rest, and he would be mutilated. And even if the scream didn't happen, like it does in TF2, that attack really isn't very fast. The spy's only method of deception is his disguise, and everybody instantly figures him out when he doesn't go off on his own, the Assassin is faster, stronger, tougher, and better. I have played as both of them, unlike you.

And yes, Assassins are nooby, if you consider noobs people that have to avoid most detection from other players to get a 1 in 5 chance for an insta-kill that may not even insta-kill. And look, the Assassin and the spy are the same, the Assassin can't disguise, the spy is slow as shit, the Assassin has horrible backstab detection, the spy is horrible in most aspects.

@0987654a5 me, and my friends got it a few hours ago, we really enjoy it, but thats just us. Crossfire is INSANE, and the Blitz mode seems easy, but anything above round 10+ is hard for the three of us lol.
