Ah, the famous, 'derrrrrrrr', noise, which accompanied many a test cars trade test transmission. I don't think I could stand more than about 30 seconds of it, though. I prefer the, 'unplugged', version, myself.

Thanks for checking. My electronic tuner says it's between 4 & 5 cents sharp. I checked my tuning fork against the electronic tuner and the tuner says it's within 1c of A 440, so I guess the tuner is accurate enough. That probably means this video is very marginally sharp, by the 4 and a bit cents.
I played the video, recorded the sound with microphone and used some program to find thee frequency. The result was 441.3Hz (about 5 cents sharp) when I used ALSA drivers for playback and recording and 440.0Hz when I used OSS4 drivers. So it seems that slightly wrong frequency in the produced sound could also be due to bad audio drivers (strange, I know). I have also tried with two other "A 440" videos on youtube with ALSA drivers and got 441.3Hz again.
Thanks for this video! Today someone asked me to tune their instrument, and I was on the computer, so I just searched for a standard A. This video really came in handy!
not guitar noobs, when you want your guitar to be A 440, your ear can never pick that out perfectly. I tune by ear but every once and awhile, i check my A and its usually at at least a hair flat. if you are just tuning your guitar to your A string for months at a time, technically YOU are the guitar noob.
I share a little trick which I use when tuning my guitar offline: call yourself from your cell phone, AFAIK it's free of charge in most countries (or just hold a normal phone without calling anyone). Again, AFAIK: the "busy" tone is also ~440 Hz. ;-)
Before 1930 the standard was 432 hz. The Hitlers right hand Goebble changed it to 440 - can't remember why. if you want some really good music try tuning your instruments to 432 hz
440 (10 seconds of A) musical instruments 440 Hz (10 seconds of A)

The 440hz frequency is a tune of the fascists to keep us from developing our inner-spirit. 432 hz and 528 hz represent freedom.

so... 440 x 2^(5/1200) = 441.27.. the approximate pitch. Apologies if that puts anyone out.

guitars are built for beeing tuned in 440 hz by standard... extra work is needed and you never get it clean in 443 hz in higher frets...

Actually, it depends on where you are in the world.
Some European orchestras use 442 hz
The Boston Symphony uses 444 hz
But the convention is 440 hz
