  • Run some biodiesel through that Rocky Mountain Hummingbird. Detroits love biodiesel.

  • you should have about 3200 rpm with a 3-53 limiting speed governor

  • what kind of fuel mileage?

  • sweet man !

  • Great job on the converson. Love that 2 stroke sound. Reminds me of an old fire truck. Did you need to rais the gear ratio? Im just going to guess that you went to something like a 2.50: ratio? Please let me know how I did?

  • No we left it stock 410 but put a 5 speed in it tops out at about 75

  • Hey I really like your truck rangerblue87!!Nice job with it, plus its such a rare old Ford! Love the straightpipe too! I am just trying to learn what I can about the 353 engine. I have a little 88 s10 Blazer just beggin for an 353...

  • Vacuume: This "little" diesel puts the torque of a 'standard' sized V8 gas engine. While the Horsepower is low, the torque level is high. A trade-off, but gearing a diesel has to be changed as to a gas engine. The max RPM of this engine is about 2200 RPM. Another is..... this combo in this vid will get twice the mileage of a gas engine.

  • thanks I was going to write the same thing but just had not gotten to it yet . The truck is amazing with all it weighs it get 28 mpg around town and 34 on the highway

  • Does it seem to have enough power? V.

  • plenty we hauled 2200 lbs of rock the other day like it was nothing

  • May I ask how many cylinders and cubic inches the Engine

    is? V.

  • 3 cylinders, 53 cubic inches each

  • With only 160 cid, how is it able to make enough power to move a Vehicle so larege? V.

  • how many speeds is that tranny?

  • 5 Speed Manual Transmission.

  • nice truck...even nicer motor for that truck.

  • Those 3-53's sure do sound sweet. One day I hope to swap one into a pickup. What did your 3-53 come out of?

  • Oregon some where?

  • Belfair Washington at the end of Hood Canal

  • That truck is awesome! Id have too much fun driving that around.

  • no i don't but 99 truck parts in surrey might.

  • does it have a working Jake??

  • no it does not do you have a jake you want to sell or give away?

  • Rangerblue: What vehicle did this engine originally come out of?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Good job guys, great to see and hear it on the road.
