Fun Trivia: What most people don't know was that Sammy started the show with "Urban Guerilla" and than got into "Red". It was cut here for whatever reason. Still great. There is concert footage at him at Winterland when he played both together. Check it out!
Gimme Red!!!... Green aint mean compared to Red.. Awesome! So many memories to this whole album... I dont know why but I love this part 1:40 Thanks for posting it...
Sammy was HUGE in Dallas. Early 80's he co-headlined the Texxas Jam - Cotton Bowl, 100,000 people. Nugent was one of the openers, Sammy brought him out and they did Led Zep's Rock n' Roll. "been long time, been a long time.." Styx came out next and the place emptied faster than I've ever seen.
I love this. I was into Punk 78/79 when I first heard this. My punk friends couldn't understand why I liked it....thought it was naff. I don't care, I like any good Rock 'n'Roll. "Red" is one of my favourites.
@musicmamma Thank you i have a lot of Sammy's albums and harder find singles on vinyl records from his Montrose days up to Van Halen's For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge album. I used to have Van Halen's 5150 on tape when i was in school and was always blasting it out on my old 80's boombox! Been a fan since.
@kliphy10 I was at this show in San Antonio where part of this album was recorded. And you're right, Sammy Hagar kicked Boston's ass. I'd never seen an opening act blow away a headliner before. But this one sure did.
Released the year I was born! Nice!

I wish he had never joined Van Halen, his solo music more than stands on it's own, thanks for posting this.
