  • id like to know what exactly is expanding how much of it here is and how it will stop

  • Expanding earth is bullshit. Sub-crust convection explains it all without the problems of having to conjure up extra mass.

  • @Mapariensis

That's great, so how does convection explain the problem of all the extra mass that is being added to the system?

  • @orrerystar Because there isn't any?

  • @Mapariensis

Completely incorrect. Several tons are added to the earth each day through Flux Transfer Events. If you're not familiar with them then you should look them up.

  • @orrerystar Care to explain why no growth is observed, if, as you say, mass accumulates so fast?

I think I know why. Solar wind is "blown" through the magnetosphere because it consists of fast-moving, charged particles. On the scale of the earth, you can safely ignore their mass.

  • So where is this mass coming from for the expansion? Or is the Earth just getting less dense (constant mass/increasing volume)?

  • @fractalfires

Also, if you don't mind. I'd like to see some peer reviewed scientific papers on the expanding earth hypothesis. If you can't show me any then you have no scientific argument to back up your "theory".

  • @fractalfires

My main argument does not make any appeals to authority, that last statement is simply an insult. Also, an ad hom is the attempt to damage one's character without addressing their argument. I made a proper argument. Educate yourself please.

You on the other hand have provided NO rebuttal to my argument and instead claimed that there are scientists who believe in an expanding earth, then make an insult. Ironically, THAT is the true appeal to authority and ad hom.

  • @fractalfires

You do realize that continental crust is connected to oceanic crust right? You do realize that the entire earth's crust is segmented and split into plates right? Have you ever learned about plate tectonics?

Yes, at one time there was a large landmass above water that split into plates and drifted to where they are now, this is a problem HOW exactly? And no, not all of continental crust is granite. What the hell are you getting at?

I think you should retake high school science.

  • I have the answer for the missing volume of ocean water.

  • The answer of this expansion is the bible (Noah and the Arc). I don't think it's millions of years ago. I believe it's less than 10 thousend years ago.

  • Expansion theory is not a scientific theory, but an untested, debunked hypothesis.

  • @Gyricon the scientist that suggested moon craters were impacts was debunked and ridiculed. he was shamed. this man is still alive today. now what do you have to say about that. would you suggest we think all the impact craters are still volcanoes?

i bet if you met him you would shame him for his mistake.

  • Are you SERIOUS?! Like really! There is actually scientists who truly believe in this crap?

  • There are scientists who study plausible concepts, thats what makes them scientists, no one believes it with absolute certainty, because no one knows. The theory is hardly implausible much less impossible.

  • @strikerfox1 You don't believe in wonders, don't you? Through the bible we know why this is true. Read the story of Noah and the Arc. That was the time when God has grown up the earth.

  • Read whats happening in Alaska and it will refute all we are lead to believe. Global Warming is a fact: our planet is getting hotter: both on land and the sea. The forecasted sea level rise as a result of melting icecaps will be negated by receding seas due to expansion. Read the Bristol University report on the forcasted sea level rise. By the time the debate is over there wil be no sea rise. I am serious. Earth grows: sea levels fall. We dont know seas fall: so if the earth expands: What?

  • Earth Expansion has its proof in the Receding Seas. Why has sea level dropped by 16000 feet since pre historical

times? The answer must be that the Planet has Expanded. Is this concept so hard to grasp? Yes it is for we dont even know that the seas have receded by such a large margin. Worse yet we still dont even know that the recession is still going on. We have to throw out old concepts like Isostatic Rebound, Sea level Datum and Mountain Growth. Check Sea Levels that is the key deception QED

  • hmm, sea level is rising right now because of global warming. then we will go into another ice age as the cycle continues, lowering the sea level... via milankovitch cycle. maybe you should define "prehistorical times" before you come to your definite conclusion of an already widely rejected theory? or are you being serious? QED pending

  • I don't get it.....

    ???????????

  • Maybe an icy comet hit the earth

  • Herndon's theory is more interesting: Earth was a gas giant in the beginning with a smaller compressed rocky core which lost its atmosphere at a certain time and expanded to the nowadays size.

  • the gas compressed into the crust like a balloon...fascinating.

  • that's crazy, man!

Esa es una locura! La mas basica ley de la geologia es que la corteza terrestre no puede extenderse mas de lo que es, como no se pueden comprimir las rocas, si non en misura infinitesimal...

You should have some good documented proofs to say such a non-sense theory!

  • Well the mass majority once believed the world to be flat right, that included many of the worlds greatest scientific minds, so why not! It's worth consideration. Who's to say that there are not large gas pockets (methane is a great product of "bullshit") or massive fissures where the expanded mater has dispersed. When you make concrete gas bubbles can occur. Magma expelled from the earth is very buoyant, light, and airy (pumice).

  • Why not?! Aren't you reading? The video shows an Earth expanding in radius at least double. Where does the extra sevenfold of dense rock come from? Rock doesn't change its density even if it melts, so if the planet increases in size that means you need more rock from somewhere. Rock does NOT "expand" in any way nor does it have whipped air in it. It's not a milk shake. Again, this is JUNK SCIENCE.

  • Well, of course. There was an antimater black hole at the earth's core that caused the mantle to compress like the matter of a neutron star and when it... yeah, right.

  • That's garbage. Ancient Greeks such as Eratosthenes proved the Earth was round and how big it was 2,700 years ago. The problem is that scientists were NOT listened to by the people, it's the common rabble's faul they believed the earth was flat. There are no scientific revolutions, my friend: Kuhn's book claiming there were "paradigm shifts" was written in 1962 by a non-scientist in an era when sexual harassment of co-eds was damn easy...

  • Bullshit. Where does the added mass come from? Doubling the width of a sphere means you have to come up with 8 times as much matter. Where did it come from?

  • not really if you easy preasure mass can expande, freaze water it expands there is no extra mass though.

  • There is no way to compress rock to 8 times its present density, as it would have been in the past if this theory could be true. Rock already averages 5 times denser than water. There should be a Bureau of Enforcement of Scientific Truth which jails fraudsters. Water expands VERY SLIGHTLY when it freezes, and is incompressible even at depths of many miles in the sea.

  • not saying what is said here is true, just that there are other ways in which things can expande.

  • its like the hulk, if you make the earth angry....look out. lol

  • you wont like me when im blue haha

    ah Expantion.

    -angel

  • The book is incredible. Expansion theory is much more elegant and fluid than currently supported theories, which are riddled with contradictions.

  • I have Mark's book and have read most of it, but I have read somewhere that he wasn't the first to come up with the expansion theory, but that he rehashed and it and re-published it. It is convincing if you are imaginitive enough and are able to escape the mainstream spatial framework that we currently have, and adopt the new geometry that emerges from expansion.

  • @DestroyerX61

yea ur right...there's just one small confound. There's not evidence for it

  • Hi shiverstin02 thanx 4 ur reply. Yes its hard when a sound new theory comes along to challenge another sound one in any subject. I've adopted non attachment & an open mind, that way we can't get stuck in a belief system. Mark McCutcheon's theory has legs though doesn't it hehe. Did you get his book after reading my post? If you'd like to email Mark search Universal Publishers then his book. I emailed him the other day to wish him luck but as yet no reply.

  • Earth is expanding. So are all the other planets. And stars. And galaxies. And us. EVERYTHING is expanding. This is because atoms are continually expanding caused by the continual expansion of ELECTRONS. All electrons are expanding at a universal rate. This is the true cause of 'gravity'. Gravity isn't a mysterious force that emanates from all matter. All matter is expanding. Therefore matter isn't simply passive, it's active. Read THE FINAL THEORY by Mark McCutcheon for a better understanding.

  • that was a great book, however It is a weird feeling having to let go of einsten theory of general relativity, which I treated as gospel for the past 10 years.
