Yes, supposedly it can be underwater for 30 minutes but it still works fine after spending about a week underwater...

It was found by a tourist in the park in a shallow part of the river... they turned it into the lost & found at the ranger's station. I checked in with them about a week after I lost it and they returned it to me.
