  • I love listening to this on long road trips in the middle of nowhere....It brings me to tears sometimes. Amazing song.

  • Es la voz, el momento (unos de los -TROZOS- mas impresionantes de los BEATLES)

  • I want golden slumbers on my tombstone

  • This song is so beautiful. :-) It makes me emotional...

  • Gosh! Everytime he says "sleep pretty darling, do not cry." I lose it!!!!! Weepy sobby tears start and I just can't help it. But that's what's great about the Beatles and Macca, you don't WANT to hold in the emotions, there is so much feeling in every song. That's something we've lost in music: feeling. Emotion. Love. Sadness. It's all there. Miss that. What happened?!

  • @ollieandrobberieXO Disney, money, machines, voice control, and collapse of independent thought have destroyed music. Listen to this song. It's great, but it's so out of place alone, because TRUE musicians (like the Beatles) used to make entire albums that told a story (like Abbey Road). Now, it's a 2 minute iTunes single about clubs, sleeping around, and other useless crap. Music died awhile ago, and it's a sad, sad funeral. God I wish I was my age (23) in the mid 1960s.

  • @ollieandrobberieXO There is still beautiful music out there, you just have to search a bit deeper for it. For some reason, the main radio stations have turned into nightclub/party playlists which is great to hear when you're actually in one, but I'd rather listen to 'daytime'/better music during the day!

  • Love the vocals so much!

  • Yes this is the carving on my daughters grave stone. But i found it in the Oxford book of nursey rhymes. Still think it is good though just lets not let Macca take the credit x

  • Thomas Dekker poem is called "Cradle Song" This is a great song!

  • Thomas Dekker poem is called "Cradle Song"

  • This song is so beautiful. It almost makes me want to cry. I got an iPod for xmas and this song is the first thing i'm putting on it!

  • Paul said as a kid he saw a piece of piano sheet music with this on it. its an old folk song called "Golden Slumbers", but of course he couldnt read music so he took the words, adapted them, and wrote music for them. Paul said he was proud of this song because he felt he balanced lullaby with the rock perfectly

  • this is pauls masterpiece

  • @leonetski Id actually say "let it be" was his greatest achivement but this song is amazing as well.

  • amazing...I'm just...I'm simply speechless...

  • A shining example of why popele love The Beatles and Paul McCartney.

  • I love when he gets into his deep voice i can't really explain

  • this song is beautifal like all of the Beatles other masterpieces!

  • wasn't there more to this song?

  • It's pretty song however the lyrics are paper thin practically all bridge. And as fo John its a matter of taste but as for me I would rather listen to a song written by John than Paul. That said it's a little like comparing apples to oranges.

  • this song makes me cry sometimes and it makes me feel better when im upset and helps me sleep when i cant

  • @paulina1330 me too overwhelmed. :'(

  • This song always makes me cry...when im tired i just listen to this and i fall asleep... |3 paulie macca! :D

  • I believe Paul was a much better writer than John.

    It evident after they split.

  • thats the songthat came on when my great grandma died

  • @The805angel

I'm very sorry for you loss. at least she died to a beautiful melody <3

  • this is my fav song of all times. my 2 in a half yr old mumbles this song b4 bedtime.

  • my dad used to sing me this when I was a baby, as a lullaby.

    <3

  • @WithAPinchOfSalt Thats priceless.....Your dad made a good choice...

  • @WithAPinchOfSalt Lol, I still can't believe my Dad sings this, i guess it reminds him of me when i was a baby.

  • @WithAPinchOfSalt I sing it to both my girls ... my 1.5 year old says every night "Daddy sing home?"

  • @WithAPinchOfSalt me 2! this song, let it be, and all the other beatles songs have a special place in my heart

    <3

  • @WithAPinchOfSalt Your dad is awesome.

  • The lyrics are from a poem by Thomas Dekker called Golden Slumbers Fill Your Eyes, it's beautiful!

  • Hey thanks for posting that! I didn't know that

  • No problem, I'd only just found out myself actually. If you click on the video "THE BEATLES ABBEY ROAD PART 5" which is the third down in the related videos column and then click on more info in the side bar, you can find the words to the original poem. Hope you like it - Tom.
