Sandy Denny one of the best folk singers ever. I have been a Fairport fan since about 1970 and having spent 45 years at sea travelling all over this lovely planet, this song means so much to me. Great.
@herol64700 Hello there, yeah couldn't agree more, great group !!! The picture was just a random shot i found, if i can find it on my computer i will send it you.
i found a cassette copy of this record at a random thrift store in boston. i didn't rewind the tape, popped it in and this was the first song that played. fucking insane tune, the last four minutes are HEAVY.
The first time I heard this, I was listening to the radio in my pickup, on the way to retrieve materials for a cabin I was repairing for a customer. I pulled off the road into an abandoned church driveway and listened, knocked on my butt, it was so good. It was my introduction to Fairport Convention. Thanks for posting this.
@nailswood ,hi just read your comments stopping in a layby to listen to fairport convention, i think thats brilliant cos i did the same thing when i heard the song... but hey just thought i d tell you that. cheers ..................
@earthangel1936 Thanks for the kind words, glad you felt the same awe. The only other time I had to pull off and listen was when I heard (for the first time) Tori Amos sing "Me and a Gun". Sometimes a person has to stand still and hear.

One of the greatest songs in folk/rock history. Sandy Denny's voice is perfect and the Thompson/Swarbrick instrumental is astonishing.
