Using a batter like that would make them greasy, What I would do is use Buttermilk [Or 1 Tablespoon of Hot sauce and 1 Cup of milk and let it sit for 5 minutes to make buttermilk] or 1 Egg and 1 Cup of Milk, 1 Cup of Flour and 1 Cup of Corn Meal, and Voila, Makes all the difference.
