I think that the wire of the contabulator, shorted with the fulx resistor ( flux capacitors are found only in Delorians) adding more pressure to the rotary piston causing internal combustion, that is why he bailed out...:-)

Um...why didn't he use one of the flying/parachute capes from his trip to Mars? Wouldn't Zarkov have one stowed away just in case? If I were Flash, I would make that a permanent part of my outfit...I mean, I would swordfight in it, then jump out of a window of a rocket!

Only Flash Gordon can do that. The greatest true hero in twentieth century fiction (because he doesn't have superpowers). And the clay people appeared in Flash Gordon's Trip to Mars which was the second serial made. This is the third one entitled Flash Gordon Conquers the Universe.

Try to find something today or for that matter anything made since this movie that sounded and looked like this in editing and style even from Spielberg and Lukas.
