All this feels good to talk and hear....but when reality bites.....it is not so cool!! Increased salary requirement leads to increased product costs ! Increased product costs result in increased living costs!! All this is but a vicious circle ! There is always a trade of between the quality and cost of education!

The pay of a teacher will never go beyond a certain level (which is of course lower than most jobs) , this is so because increasing the salary/pay of a teacher amounts directly to increased cost of education. Increased cost of education gives rise to increased college expenses, Increased education costs result in increased salary requirement !!

Amir Khan is absolutely right , but what he said is nothing new or novel. This is being opined and said by any and every indian who has ever gone to a school. When the government can liberalise the economy, encourage information technology and research in space and the Antartica, why not reforms in primary education and quality of teaching? There is dearth of talent to take it up. High time the government paid attention to this.

As a US college student, I can't say much about the Indian school system. However, the problems Aamir highlights I also see in the US public school system. Educational systems shouldn't be cramming fact after fact into children's minds, but should be instilling a passion and love for learning. :: Give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish, he'll eat for a lifetime. - Teach a kid a fact, the'll know one fact. Teach a kid to love learning, they'll discover millions of new ones.

There is no sense to compare any person here. Everyone in the program has done great job in contributing ideas. Its ultimately about people how they take it and understand the importance of education.

Einstein revolutionized physics and aamir revolutionizrd indian cinema. All these ppl are most respected of their time. Education is not about how many degrees you have, its about ur passion towards the knowledge of field ur interested in. And i think in India, its such a big issue. i don't mean to critique, but parents do put their ambitions on kids and want them to be first in everthing, instead of encouraging them to follow their dreams. That is the point of this disucssion. Its not always ppl with degrees that are bright and make positive contribution to a society. By getting good professionals in teaching we will be improving quality of teaching.

But the first thing is to provide education to 100%. Which is the goal these NGOs are working. More money should be spent on school and encouraging children to go to school. Make education affordable for everyone. Drop out rate should be 0 and education level should be 99% not 50 or 60 percentage.
