The BPCI search/pageant must be held as early as January in order to train our contestants really. If we want to win, we should start to take these matters seriously, the earlier the better you know. I saw Miriam's interview in Headstart, she said she was trained for a week in Venezuela together with the Venezuelan girls who would compete for the next year in their local pageant. Imagine that? They prepared for a year. Oh my! napakataas ng level of confidence natin, di naman kaya.

You're so ignorant. It looks nothing chinese. Seriously, wrong part of the world. The costume's roots are so Spanish/latin american, but it is passable for colonial Filipinas. This is a cut and shape worn in folk dances and the gowns of the elite at special occasions during colonial times.

@delayedricochet Nope! You are wrong. The Terno is purely Filipino. When the Spaniards came to the Philippines, women already way the terno (pair) of baro and saya. Although at that time the pair of clothing is not as glamorous as this one, it just evolved through time. But it is a very separate costume from the Spanish or Latin American costumes. Just check out your sources first before you say stuff in here.

This is the national costume for women - Baro't Saya or Maria Clara. It matches the Barong Tagalog.
