  • I have been there to Istanbul in Feb 2008. Really an unforgettable place with excellent hospitality. Wish to visit again.

  • Come visit turkey you'll not regret

Turkey gets over 30 million Tourists every year

  • I really think this is a beautiful building.....I think that most mosques are beautiful buildings. Im fascinated by the history of this building. Also I think that what lies beneath this building must be amazing too.

  • It is embarassing how all great mosques in Istambul are copies of Christian Pre-Arabic Hagia Sophia. Really embarassing.

  • @AndreaSPitaim Your crazy, think again!?

The Ottoman mosques weren't copies of the Byzantines churches but were in fact improvements!

In my opinion the Blue Mosque which was built to surpass the Hagia Sophia is far better than the Hagia Sophia It self!

  • @GudMuzlim786

    Good joke. Have another?

  • @AndreaSPitaim Haha! Your a Joke!

My ^message^ contained facts not crap like your message! ^ ^

  • that kurdish guide speaks good english

  • Jesus Christ has returned. I AM.

  • @IAMJESUSmovie Tosser

  • I think we have to know the history of Istanbul, before Ottoman Empire, it was Constantinople of Byzantium, and Blue Mosque originally was Byzantium's Church called Hagia Sophia, therefore inside the mosque still contained the pictures of the old Hagia Sophia because Sultan Mehmed II wanted to preserve some of the precious structure from Byzantium Empire.

No more fighting and please more studying.

  • I think U're the one who needs studying....

Hagia Sophia Mosque (former patriarchal basilica) and now Museum Is NOT the Blue Mosque, they are DIFFERENT. The Blue Mosque was originally built between 1609 and 1616 as a Mosque. While Hagia Sophia built between 532 and 537 as a church and converted into Mosque in 1453.

U can verify that in Wikipedia.

  • Chemtrooper! you are completely confused! you know why? the Blue Mosque(Sultan Ahmet mosque) and Hagia Sophia are completely different structures. HUKASASHA had expalined well enough, read again:)

  • @chemtrooper Isnt the imperial palace of the Byzantian Emperors beneath this mosque? I have read that it is....so there must also be tombs of the Byzantine Emperors beneath it too.

  • @vampire09100

no, Hagia sofia is what you meen. That is the blue mosque or Sultan Ahmed mosque

  • lol

  • Dont force your self too much. Your Grek brain wont get you any where. Obviously you have not read the history of Islamic Golden Age so untill you do its good bye from me.

By the what ever happened to Greece? Its a pile of rubble isnt it! LOL

Greeks running to Turkey for help LOL

  • Obciously the only thing you ever read in your life is something about Islam..Greece is a pile of rubble? Are you aware that its the only economy in ALL europe that isnt affected by the crisis? We run to turkey for help?Wow u must be really retarded mate,we had always WAR with turks, why the fuck they would help us?

And what to help us with when whole turkey has bad economy and 65% analphabetism?Greece is the 2nd best progressing country in whole europe..dont believe me, go look the statistics.

  • Dennis, excellent work. A great help for the rest of us. I'll link to this from my Turkey still-photos site later tonight.

  • WDF IS DAT

  • Language Language Language...Let's be civil folks! Many Cities have dual or triple identities. For example Alexandria Egypt, Cordoba Spain, Damascus Syria, and of course the most Schizophrenic Cities of them all is Jerusalem which has changed hand many times in its History. Istanbul first started out as a Greek Colony with the name of Byzanthion, then after about a 1000 years the Roman Emperor Constantine chose the site as his Capital city did the Town become the City of Constantinople.

  • Fuck you Stopfoolinplz...fuck off bitch...THE NAME is ISTANBBUL and IT S TURKISH CITY...it will be forever our city fuck you man fuck youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

  • The name is Konstantinoupolis and its a Greek city.

  • this city is not greek anymore mate...Greeks can live here side by side with the Muslims and then we will ahve peace

  • the city is Turkish only cause Turks slaughtered every1 in there, killed 3-years old kids and raised their chopped heads on their swords.Cause turks entered and ruined everything that was of some beauty in the city, transforming it into a cruel, stinky awful town..thats the turkish "civilization"

  • Hey Mr. Greek, please try and be civil and calm down. The Muslim Empire was magnificently great and amazing. Dont be jealous, you should appreciate the vast history behind modern day Turkey. You should be proud of the fact that this land was ruled by three of the greatest civilizations in the history of mankind!! The Ottoman Empire fell decades ago yet Islam is still incredibly strong in the hearts of the Turkish people. Despite the sectarian effort to destroy Islam they have failed.

  • First of all as a turk, you shouldnt ask me to be civil, cause yoi aint civil urself, just a hypocrit.2ndly did you said jealous?Seriously do you have braincell issues? Are you aware that Greece has the oldest and greatest hstory among every living nation? Are you aware that Greek languange is used in every science cause 80% of the sciences in ancient world was discovered by the Greeks?Where should I start from?I would need to type an entire life,a youtube comment aint enough

  • I am from the United Kingdom and I am NOT Turkish.

And Greece DOES NOT have the oldest or greatest history. FAR FAR from it! LOL

There are numerous empires and civilizations. Fixating on one civilization is sad. And there are MANY scientific words that are derived from Arabic and other languages besides Greek!

Greece being and old civilization NATRUALY means that words are going to be adopted from it!

  • Mustafa mate, you are a blinded,a fanatic person of Islam. How dare you not recognizing that Greece had,has and will always have the oldest and greatest history among every living nation? When we were building the Parthenon, when we were discovering DEMOCRACY,MATHEMATICS,THEATER AND SO MANY MANY MORE?As for the languange, you think that the only reason that ALL SCIENCES IN THE WORLD USE GREEK,is that is just an old languange?Jeez mate you must be retarded.ITS ADOPTED CAUSE ITS THE RICHEST LANGUANGE

  • The Greeks never had the greatest history you moron. Dont try to impose you nationalistic ideals on me. I originate from India and my faith is Islam. Have you ever studied the vast history of India or the vast expansion of the Islamic civilization? Stop being so narrow minded you little bigot!

  • Again, you reply with pathetic comments that make no sense, without any proofs at all.Where was India when Greece was discovering sciences?Where was india when Greece invented democracy?Where was india in ancient Greek-Persian wars? What india was when ,here,in Greece we where making Olympic Games? When we were expanding by King Alexander The Great, bringging Hellenism everywhere, building towns like Alexandroupolis in Egypt? What was india that times?and all Islamic nations?

  • Greeks discoverd geometry not math. Muslims discoverd algebra. LOL man u just need to take a look t the angles. What kind of names we give them ( alpha, beta, .... ) exactly GREEK names. And now just take a look at the figures.... exactly ARABIC.

Sry but u are a fool

  • geometry is discovered vy sumerians who were making agriculture near rivers 1000 years before ancient greeks. today's greek is the invention of western powers in 19th century. they are bynch of gypsies.

  • @abchaz01 The Muslims did not discover Algebra, it was the Babylonians and the Egyptians... it was finalized and by the Muslims in Iran.

Diophantus of Alexandria (200 - 284 AD) is generally called "The Father of Algebra" for his work on equations, although many argue he simply used methods that had been used by the Babylonians well before him.

the word algebra comes from the Arabic "al-jabr", a word in the title of a book by ancient mathematician al-Khwarizmi (780 - 850 AD).

  • @Pharaoh714 Brother even I have to admit, The powerful people from the start were Romans and Egyptians because they were just beginning to discover everything! But the muslim moors in Spain eventually find out everything and improved the Romans and Egyptians works! So we should thank the Romans, Egyptians and the Muslim moors for giving us the Technology!

  • @GudMuzlim786 The Romans copied alot of the Greeks who copied a lot from the Egyptians..

The Muslims were only powerful at the start because they inherited the knowledge of the Persian, Egyptians and Byzantine (Romans) all at the same time.... after that they decayed quickly because of Fitna.. and to this day they Muslims and Arabs suffer greatly from it.

  • A mustafa from UK?Wow I was unaware that england is an Islamic country with names like mustafa.Maybe you should search for your roots a bit?As for the bollocks you spreading, talk with examples.Bring me some words that science like medic, pharmacy or any other you want, use arabic words. Then I can sit and write some greek words and we can compare.Problem is ,I will need like 100 comments or even more to write all that I have in mind. When greeks studying philosophy, you were living in caves.period

  • Hey dumbass Islam is the fastest growing religion on this earth. WAKE up! LOL There is over 7.5 million Muslim in the UK and more then 1.5 billion all over the known world. By the way Arabic was the language of science in the Mediterranean, and other nations would send students to the Arabic schools, so many new scientific words in Arabic were used by students who studied in Arabic country in the 8th-14th centuries

  • Hey nutcase have you EVER studied the Golden Age of Islam? From the 8th century till the 14th century Islam was on top. Al Andalusia (Spain), Egypt, Baghdad (Iraq) and so on. These capitals flourished with science, philosophy, mathematics and many other fields including faith. Yes, INDEED Muslims opened the wealth of knowledge found withering away in the old Greek libraries. I am not denying the wealth of Greek influence in science!

  • stop fighting niggas

  • Modern scientific historians do not appreciate the VAST importance of the Arabian civilization that spread to Spain and sparked the later renaissance! Have you even studied Persian or Roman influences on this earth? And how about the Egyptions

  • Thanks for all that information!

  • Very nice video
