And believe me, most of us that have abandoned this fantasy are aware that there are more than one perception. There are actually millions of different perceptions. This does not make any of them true, and there is not just as much reason for believing in them, as there is to disbelieve. How many of them do you disbelieve in?

This is a lie that has been spread pretty well. Washington, Adams, Jefferson were all deists. Most of the founding fathers were deists or atheists. They escaped religious persecution in Great Britain. Then, they signed the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, which has Freedom of Religion (definitely against the 1st commandment) into law. Founded on Christianity...? LOL

@jokesmom My point is that how can you be so sure that Thor or Apollo do not exist when there is a similar lack of evidence for the god you believe in? And the age of the earth has been determined by evidence from multiple radiometric age datings of meteorite material and is consistent with the ages of the oldest-known terrestrial and lunar samples.

LAWS in virtually every free country are based on Judeo/Christian values, including the Ten Commandments. Thou shalt not kill. Thou shalt not steal. Sound familiar?

@joskemom Did you not read it? It says "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof ...." I.E you cannot make a law based off the teachings of the bible or you would have to make one off the Quran or Homer's tales.

And you shall make no law respecting a religion meaning you cannot make a law saying you cannot get married because you are gay, it goes against humans rights. The church may not marry them but the state must allow them to get married as human beings.

Look it up Its in several books and it also has proof. (the proof isnt the book saying it is the proof)

Evolving 'along side' would not even begin to explain to the existance of the woodpecker-poor bird would have starved itself out of existence. @JusBenLawyered That is the point. Evo vs God debate is pointless because they can not be proven. The big bang theory is just that, the theory of evolution is just that. A person of faith can not prove their God no more than you can prove the orgin of the universe. The bang theory defies all kinds of laws of physics and the only reason you guys give to explain evo is the tired "millions of years" scenario. Life dont come from non life and no reason for ape/man to 'evolve alnog side' each other.

@joskemom You have a very simple thought pattern. We didnt Evolve from a rock but a mixture of chemicals. Also Try thinking about the evolution path of the Wood Pecker's food source. Ever thought that maybe they evolved to get away from wood peckers by burrowing into trees. thus the woodpecker had to evolve to get to the insects. Evolution is all based off survival of the fittest. The gene mutation that best helps the species survive gets passed on to the next generation.
