@akumas I don't think he's actually friends with Lee, I think that's just a common misconception for non-Japanese fans of the game who make the connection since they're both the Chinese opponents in the original game. I know he and Lee both have ties to the Chinese mafia, but that's about it.

The twins use baji, mantis, and snake, and Gen uses a wide range of kung fu (mantis and crane are what they put in the game, but in the story, he knows lots lots more). So there's a similarity in their moves from that, since he also uses baji, mantis, and snake, among others (notice their dive kick and his oga, or their role and his jyasen/gekiro). Some speculate he may have killed their parents, but that's about it in the actual story.

@hasnienn -- Gen's SSF4 theme has a faster tempo & a few extra measures. While the Alpha 2 Gold theme itself contains some "sprinkles" of ancient Oriental instrumentation (such as at 0:37 - 0:43) that the SSF4 theme lacks, it still sounds like synthesized rock music with organ. The SSF4 theme at least contains a violin-based section that presents a sense of orchestra-like elegance.
@Kilesfactor -- In all honesty, I *started* with Gen's SFA3 theme after watching a few character playthroughs on YouTube, **then** began searching for his other themes. It didn't take me very long to figure out that Gen's SFA3 theme was *****waaay***** different than all of the other versions. (Not that I minded -- but it was definitely hard to miss.)
This is my favorite music for Gen, and my 2nd favorite on this game, next to Bison's. But that aside I must say Gen is a BEAST!!!! He would have to be my sensei, and I would hope to be as fast and LETHAL at his age!

I agree. The one from the very first Street Fighter has a strong tune and a sense of menace too. But I'd be surprised if they use it as the basis for whatever theme he will receive in Super Street Fighter IV.
If not for Gen there would be no such thing as Akuma or Krauser. Gen is the first Battle Fiend to ever exist in a fighting game and he has aged like fine wine since he first appeared in the very first Street Fighter all the way back in 1987. Gen is the forefather of in game Battle Fiends.
Super Street Fighter 4 better remix all the character themes that they didn't include in the original SF4.
I mean forgetting the theme of Balrog, Fei-Long, Gen, Blanka, Dhalsim, Dan, and E. Honda? Every theme in SF deserves a remix imo. Hope they put that in.
