pure genius the man was amazingly brilliant and misunderstood by many, except for his true fans like us who appriciate truely good music ! Im teaching my daughter the finer things in great music like Franks she loves it, she has favorites like Return to Forever or Al Di Meola, Tommy Bolin, Jeff Beck, Rory Gallagher etc. ! She likes great music with great guitar by great guitarists and she hates the garbage corp music they put out these days, so I guess I taught her well lol shes learning !!!
Frank said that one of the most under-appreciated people were composers. "Americans are least of all interested or find value in composers." Well, I must not be American because I love your music Frank. You've added much to my existence. Graci!
@probrojeffro afterall, someone was be completely devoid of musical taste if they can't appreciate the genius who wrote such compelling pieces as 'why does it hurt when i pee?' and 'the voice of cheese' . . .
Frank Zappa, una leyenda insustituible del Rock y de la guitarra eléctrica. Y un músico que supo adaptar su enorme talento a su música, y que consiguió reunir a tan excelentes compañeros tocando en su grupo "the mothers of invention".
My absolute favorite song on this album. If I had one song to listen to for the rest of my life, it would be Inca Roads. I get chills at the section at about 6:06, it's out of this world and one of my favorite musical moments EVER.
This was the second album I ever heard of Frank Zappa, my first acounter was "In New York"....for me this is Zappa at his best...but let's not forget the musicians he worked with in that period....
Later work I can appreciate, but I am not keen on Chad Wackerman as a drummer, I do not know why, but I do not like his approach........although Zappa did.....
i've read frank saying that at the beginning duke didn't feel that he was ready to be a lead voice man... apparently he didn't get the right tones and chromatisms on this one... well he was wrong...
The man was a genius who was never followed, not for lack of want, rather the lack of ability. He was in a class all by himself, a class of his own making. :)
@moonpagan im disleksick but i think i agree. this album is the reason why i called my daughters sofa 1 and 2 . all my dogs have been modified and are all called evelyn . sorry gail but also gave my son middle name zappa who is now 16 if you have a problem with that deal with him .

Frank's body of work is about as far-reaching as one can get for a composer, song writer, social commentariest. Amazing.
