when you prepare absinthe(the green fairie) for drinking(its an alcohol with mildly hallucinagenic properties thats bright green) you lay a slotted spoon on a glass, place a cube of sugar on the spoon, then slowly pour the absinthe onto the sugar cube(melting it) and into the glass. then you remove the spoon and drink. I think thats what they call shooting the runner. "Absinthe make you my whore" what a great line in a great song! absinthe is illegal in USA but Ive had it. kicks your ass.
