  • ernies ball coated, elixirs nanowebs.. ive tried those, now its only D'addario left :)

  • Here's some strings to suggest to everyone to at least try :) EarnieBall :) Imma try some D'addarios soon though :)

  • @PrismaticDemi Ernie balls just don't last that long for me.

  • @gbsons depends on how you clean your guitar. Mine last me about 2 months per set of everyday playing, but i clean my guitar often.

I imagine there are better ones out there, but i haven't found any with a nicer feel of tone yet. Thanks for the feedback :)

  • @PrismaticDemi I'd like to have two guitars so I can try different brands on one while keeping my favorite on the other.

But I don't like any string brand yet, to begin with D:

  • @apalmalarrain Keep experimenting man :) Most people don't know this, but the strings, setup, and intonation are some of the most important things to worry about on the guitar. Can't play a guitar without strings.....can't play a guitar that has a horrible setup due to string height, neck relief/tension, and fret buzzing.....and you cant play a guitar correctly without even a slightly accurate intonation. Things like these matter. Have fun :D

  • @PrismaticDemi

    ernie ball rocks!

  • @shakar92 thats what i'm saying.....

  • @PrismaticDemi Ernie's are good strings but in my experience Addario's last longer, Ernie's tend to rust out and corrode much faster

  • @TheRatbeakmafia Idk why but the seem to do very well for me.

  • @PrismaticDemi well it all really boils down to preference. maybe your fingers are less corrosive than mine. I like the ernie's just can't keep them on my guitar for more than 2 weeks

  • @TheRatbeakmafia it could be climate difference too............I live in a kinda humid area Georgia to be exact.

  • @PrismaticDemi I stay in central Texas, I have also lived in Gwinnett County Georgia, I don't think the climate is that much different, but I could be wrong,

  • @TheRatbeakmafia Georgia is known to be kinda humid, but im not sure about texas lol............never been there. But ehh.......earnie ball super slinky's usually last me about a month before i can tell any differences in playability. But as you said before and i agree..............It all boils down to preferece. Im thinking of trying out some elixir strings too, just because i keep hearing good things about them. as Rob would say.....Cheers Mate :-)

  • @PrismaticDemi Texas is a strange place when it comes to weather and climates. East Texas is really humid swampy in some places, West Texas is very dry desert climate, South Texas is just downright hot. Central Texas is kinda a happy medium although quite humid and extremely hot in the summer. I'm thinking humidity down here is similiar Tx 2 Ga is a straight line. down south it's just downright sticky, anyway take care, keep playing guitar

  • @TheRatbeakmafia Thanks for replying, you take care also and maybe one day we'll meet each other in the music industry huh? Good luck man, and to every other musician here :D

  • is my left speaker alone workin???

  • F**k the rest, DR's are best. (MY OPINION)

  • @PoetryEmotion94 Lol JACKSON!

    I wanted to try out some DR's but there weren't at my local store, so I picked a set of D'addarios. After a couple of days I went on a trip and left my guitar at home. Two weeks later they already sound duller than the earlier string set did after 6 months. I'm not a touring artist so am not going to change my strings every week nor am I going to use strings that die down after a week either. I still want to find DR's ;__;

  • @apalmalarrain im recently using the DR DDT 10-60 set. awesome strings :) try ordering online

  • Can this strings make me wonderful?

  • D'daddario rocks! 0.11 rocks heavier!

  • I've used D'Addario 10s ever since I started playing and I don't seem to have any rust or dull tone problems. Could be the low humidity here or something, idk.

  • My dad used to buy me D'addario strings because they were like $5 for a whole set. They didn't last me a month cause they would rust and get dull too quickly. I been searching for a brand that would last me months and save me money now

  • @SilentDestruction900 use dunlops

  • @MrCORN1BREAD Dunlops last me almost 3 weeks

  • @SilentDestruction900 they last me normally 5, i never get much time to play.

  • @MrCORN1BREAD I guess it depends on how much you play then. Since I play for hours every day it affects me differently.

  • @SilentDestruction900 Aw, my D'addario set sounds pretty dull. I played it for like two days and went on a trip, leaving my guitar at home. Now, two weeks later I believe my former set sounded better, even though it was like 8 months old and played everyday. I don't want strings that go shit after so little time, and I disliked the last set (they were HRS), so what am I supposed to buy D:? Your comment about Dunlops changed my mind..

  • I'll be honest, I FUCKING HATE D'Addario strings. They rust instantly, break instantly and are dull as shit.

  • i played EB's while learning guitar but one day I was curious so i bought a set of D'addario XL super lights, i was amazed how much better they we're. I also play saxophone and I love rico reeds which are also made by D'Addario. All around AWESOME COMPANY!!!!

  • damn right on all counts man, your definatly a good player, lots of style, really progressive an adaptive, you really put your own soul into what you play even if its somebody elses riff you make it sound like chappers. and you seem like a great guy oozing with charecter and ambition, really wish the best for you and your global domination and whatever else your dreams include.

  • Chappers what are the chances of getting a lesson with you if i live near guildford? :] I'm not a complete novice I'm just really tryin to get more.... technical laiho/ matt heafy sounds out of my solos. any tips at least? :]

  • D`addario strings are the best fucking strings, period!

  • Tubular Bells at 0:26?

  • DRs are awesome. Do I even need an explanation?

  • @freenexton

Oh my god DR strings, the cat's knees, the bee's pajamas, they are the best. I use Pure Blues 10's, oh my lord, don't let the name fool you, I use them for anything from Djent to the jazz stuff I'm learning, they feel so good, and I bend the hell out of them, they hold up longer than Rotosound, Ernie ball rock n'roll/nickel steel/stainless steel, D'addario nickel/steel, GHS Boomers, so much sustain, clarity, warmth, smoothness, bite, it's all there. Screw everyone else

  • Daddario Last a LONG TIME! and they sound SUPER. I've tried them all and keep going back to daddarios

  • Switched from D'ads to Super Slinkys for a very brief period of time and then switched back. Haven't found anything i like better than D'ads

  • What guage strings do you prefer?

  • Wooow good words t.y

  • d'addario string awesome smooth ,excellent tone & almost unbreakable ...

ernie ball are hard feel, tone are badly overbright and bend the string it will break

  • Bought 2 packs of D'addarios and they broke way faster than my ernies.

    DR strings ftw!

  • How long do the D'Addario nickel wound strings maintain there twanginess, or sharpness for.

  • My favourite strings, congrats on your deal ! :)

  • Ernie Ball all the way. I love their feel and sound. And I love how as people say here; they don't dull down and wear out as quickly as alot of other strings.

  • Esp endorsment, i just want a esp mirage XD

  • Dude, what string gauge do yo use?

  • Chappers, when you`re the ruler of the world..can i have norway?

  • Song at the start?

  • what is endorsement??

    what are endorsement deals??

    Please somebody tell me.

  • @buffalo4321able Nothing you need to worry about..

  • CHOCOLATE RAIIIIIIIIIIIIN!!!!!!! baha! Personally I hate D'Addario strings, they go black where I live far to quickly, as for earnies, they havent gone black on my paul since I got it! 3 months ago ! xD

  • D`Addario strings ftw :)

  • Would you recommend D`Addario or Elixir Strings or something else?

  • Lovely guitar!

  • Pretty sweet advice :-)

    And it's pronounced dad-ario, not D - Addario, haha.

  • Chappers, how are d'Addario strings compared to other strings (Ernie Ball, Gibson, Fender, Dean Markley, etc.), with respect to things like tone, length of string life, and other factors like that?

    Thanks very much! Great video!

  • why is your video panned left ?

  • @johnlikessocks Rob's advice is right so he left it for us.

  • I like Rotosounds the best. I have tried Ernie Ball, D'addario, DR and the Roto's were the best. Second would be DR. The d'addarios always kept getting out of tune and felt really dirty after 2 weeks...The high strings felt like tin, it was terrible...I guess im more of a round core string guy

  • how do you get indorsed ??

  • I like Ken Smith strings ... oh heck ... I'm a bass player ... AND female ... AND blonde. I guess, my global domination will stuck in a fish bowl. It's a fish world ... sniff.

  • You ever used ernies rob?

  • I see you rockin' the orange amps

  • how do you pronounce d'addario? XD

  • @xbob23 DA DARIO

  • JACKSON

    DR STRINGS

    MESA

ahh the dream...got my list :)

  • what about Ernie ball? what is your opinion on them?

  • I like D'Addario because they sound great and don't seem to break as easy as others.

  • ROFL "NOTHING will stop you... from global domination."

  • i tried a bunch of different string makes and used ernie ball's strings for maybe 2-3 years. but then i bought a new guitar and i had it's stock strings (d'addario) swapped for thicker ones, and the only brand at that store, that had the string gauge i required, was d'addario! and after playing for a while i felt like they were more responsive, easier to play, sounded awesome and verry surprisingly buzzed only verry softly on the frets. i've been using them ever since for 4 years now. i <3 them

  • becoming a good player doesn't just take time;-)

  • who was your first endorsement?

  • what gauge do you use?

  • Have you tried thier new EXP strings?

  • Hey Man! You are a real insperation to me, not to mention unbelievably funny. :) Keep rockin'!

  • Does endorsed mean sponsored?

  • I Love the signed Kerry King sign in the back ground

  • i hate DR strings they freiken unwound on me and i will never use them again

  • D'Addario and ESP. Those are the two companies I want to be endorsed by. I love the way ESPs feel, simple as that. D'Addario are easily my favorite sting. The work best for tapping, bending and generally wanking shit. I love them.

  • Chappers what gage acoustic strings do you use?

  • thats a mark tremonti signature guitar, isn't it?

  • @XCM666 no it's a custom 24

  • i use what ever gives me the heaviest string guages.

  • D'Addario, have a smoother feel than Ernies and they don't snap as much but they dull down quite quick which i hate. Ernies have a bright sound which lasts longer than D'Addario which is the desider for me plus in most shops Ernies have more Gauge options and at the end of the day i prefer playing Ernies.

  • agreed

  • @resington nah i hate ernies

  • @resington Ernies do have a bright sound, you are correct about that. However, about a week to a week and a half into their use, they start to dull out. I myself use D'Addario (Blues/Jazz Gauge) on all my 6 string guitars, and have not found a better brand yet. They stay bright and sharp, and can take a beating.

I also use D'Addario on all of my guitars, just sharing the brand as an exampe to check out :)

  • @truehart Agreed, it's such a subjective thing. Stringing with Ernie Ball's makes guitar playing miserable for me because I think they're so dull right out the packet and I have to dig in really hard to get any crunch. Yet I hear people say the same about D'addario, we all have different hands and ears I guess. I've had my main guitar string with D'addario for 6 weeks and it still sounds bright.

  • @resington Solution for both of those downsides, Elixir ;)

  • @resington Personally I find Ernies a bit tinny and wheezy for my taste. Maybe it's just my guitars but I find D'Addarios have a fuller body. I prefer them to both Ernies and Blue Steels.

  • planet waves is amazing. i really like there straps and picks

  • I couldn't stand Ernie Ball strings so i switched to D'Addario. Hands down best strings I've ever used. By the way great job!

  • I use Elixir strings, kinda expensive, but I think they really do last stronger and they're also kinda slippy.. not at all like Ernie Balls's strings

really like 'em, try them out

  • BUUUUUT... i tried to detune them and they broke!!!!!

    wtf......

  • that has never happened to me because of detuning, I play in a band and we all play in C sharp and so far everything has been just fine with that

  • If this happened while detuning your mechanics or bridge might have too sharp edges.

  • i use dadarrio on my classical nylon guitar and they are by far best brand ive used!

  • Hey chappers! I really enjoy watching your videos! You are such amazing guitarist and funny guy. Keep rocking :)

  • do you think someone could get endorsed by a music shop just by giving them a cd and playing classics while demoing guitars. i seen the cashier stare at me when i played master of puppets in the right tempo. the dude said wow. how old r u. i got 5 free packs of strings.

  • seriously? i know like.....nine tenths of master....where do u live?!?!??!?! i need some new strings! anything free is anything i need! lmao

  • you need to be endorsed by dunlop!

  • I was endorsed by Dunlop strings, but they were so bad that I quit my deal with them. Their effects are awesome though..

  • i really dig their strap loks

  • @RobChappers why not ernie ball?

  • @RobChappers Why so?

  • @RobChappers and their picks!

  • @RobChappers Dunlop strings are the best, what did you find wrong with them?

  • @RobChappers hey chappers!

i tried dunlop strings and hated them too!

what were your personal reasons? - and when you were endorsed by dunlop, did they insist you used their srtings, because i love the ultex picks and the mxr stuff but hate their strings..

  • @RobChappers Zakk Wylde uses them are they really that bad

  • @RobChappers Zakk Wylde uses them ??

  • @RobChappers really?! wow, what was it about them? if i may ;)

  • @jpsguitarguy Dude, dunlop strings suck...

  • @TheSugarFreedom imeant stuff like picks, pedals, straps and locks. stuff like that

  • i like DR strings ima try this again mehbeh :)

  • so planet waves makes D'Addario strings right?

  • They are the same company ;-)

  • no. they are both separate companies. he is endorsed to both companies.

  • what d'addario strings are best for pinch harmonics.

  • TUBULAR BELLS!!!

  • did u read The Secret? lol

  • Cool PRS guitar!! <3 <3

  • good advice, what if your goals is to be endorsed by 4 different guitar company's lol

  • Awesome man, I just have one question though. When putting and EPk toghether how much content is too much?

  • It's really up to preference mate, but try to keep it neat and concise :-)

  • thanks Chappers you really are a stand up guy.

  • Mike Oldfield, kick ass! You should cover "Moonlight shadow" sometime, it would sound awesome.

What's that you say? Nice guys NOT finishing last? Not sure if I believe that... ;-) But thanks for the encouragement, I totally look up to you.

  • i use d,addario too

  • Thanks for the encouragement :-)

btw, what gague strings do you use?

  • looks like 10-52 ?

  • How do you get an endorsment?

  • Most companies have a how to on their sites but if they don't then they at least follow this:

    1. Contact the company

    2. Have albums out and send them a demo

    3. Have reviews from a reputable source

    4. Use their stuff or have a great interest in it.

  • yeah this question interests me too !

  • dude the very first tapping lick i love, can you tell me the general interval idea so i can figure it out myself

  • Dude it is tubular bell by mike oldfield! i just tap it rather than use a piano :-)

  • Love your videos. Coolest guitarist ever!

  • Thanks mate :-)

  • Wish I was endorsed by PRS, Mesa Boogie(The Mark series of amps I use. The F series is ok, but the rest is rubbish.), and Monster Cable. :P

  • nice video man (i use d'addario strings myself :D ) , but what's that at your bridge, i saw it when you did the mike oldfield thing

  • i use d'addario too, wish i got mine free! haha. nice one though mate

  • Hi Chappers I am back from my holliers now and I have only watched this now and thanks for the great info

  • Hi Chappers I am back from my holliers know and I have only watched this know and thanks for the great info.

  • Does that mean you get free strings?

  • I get an allowance of free strings and gear, and then others I buy at a very silly price :-)

  • Good deal.

  • good advice

  • Thanks mate! :-)

  • Rock on fellah :-) Sounds good to me.

  • I only use these strings!!!

  • i've got D'Addario 09-42 (prosteele), what are the best on your opinion?

  • I still love the EXL's mate they just feel great, and they are never corroded :-)

  • I Love the environmentally friendliness of D'addario.

What are your favorite strings they make?

  • For Monkey Lord Eb I use 10-42 EXL'S & for Drop C tuning with the Black Hand I use 11 guage, sometimes 12. My Rhythm player Gav uses 11-70 guage, he has to strip off the outer wire to string hi LP.

  • great advice. I think confidence is the key to everything. One can be a great player and nice guy, but if he lacks confidence he or she won't take advantage of oppurtunities when they are available.

    thanks!

  • Very true Stevie, I used to be very shy until I realised I was an immortal monkey Lord :-)

  • Does it count if add Porsche to my endorsee wish list (?) and be really really nice!!

Good lad Rob, all good products - let PRS know that you influenced my decision to buy.

  • Great idea mate! Will do thanks mate :-)

  • i wish you were my dad....

  • I can't be your dad... But I can be your immortal simian lord behemoth! Now turn that bloody music up ;-)

  • A Ok Lord (Y)

  • With that positive attitude it's no wonder that the crab horde can't infiltrate your leafy borders LOL...... seriously tho, the world could use more nice people. congrats with ur latest endorsements.

  • Thanks mate I appreciate that :-)

  • 100% pure wearable win, direct from the paw of the Monkey Lord!

  • Wow thanks mate!

  • D'Addario cool strings=)

  • D'Addario Jazz Medium's FTW.

  • Also that's some real good advice.

  • Cheers mate :-)

  • planet waves and daddario= <3

  • PW = Da = a dangerous amount of refined win.

  • yes. but its more like PW+DA+monkey lord= ultra major win x2

  • Monkey Lord Approved
