Finding a string that is best for you is less about your size or age and more about what kinda of player you are, and what you are looking to help add to your game. Are you looking for more spin? Do you want more power? Do you break strings often? It's a very individual choice, and everyone is different! I suggest going to our website and looking at the 'learning center' tab in the string section. Hopefully that can help you understand a little more!
how do you feel about this racquet in comparison to the plus version? i am generally a moderate topspin player, but i love to flatten out my groundstrokes for a winner.
The difference between the standard length and the plus is that the plus has the ability to generate more power and spin because the added length allows it to generate a faster tip speed. The downside to this is less maneuverability. It really comes down to personal preference and whether you are willing sacrifice a bit of maneuverability for payoffs like power and spin. You should check in out in a demo and see if you prefer one to the other!
i think these players play just fine, they are reviewing a racquet, not necessarily trying to win a match. it's a recreational hit-around between friends/coworkers. if you want to see terrible players reviewing a racquet, go look at tennis express's reviews.
if i had to suggest anything, i would only suggest that TW shows more shots that are winners and less unforced errors.
well i'll definettly consider the roddicck + ( actually roddick is my favorite player) last question, between this 3 racquets whats your favorite and why?: aero storm gt, aero storm tour gt, and pure storm gt, i think i,m goig with one of these, but the stiffnes of the aero could be a problem for the vibration, as well as the just 1 pt hl of the pure storm( to low) ive never play with any or them, so please could you explain to me( and many people) thanks in advance. promes no more questions :)
Yes. It is also considered a modern player's racquet. Polyester string (along with heavy topspin) has enabled the modern, advanced player to use lighter and more powerful racquets such as this. While the light weight is great for intermediates, advanced players make the racquet play like it is heavier as they increase plow through by using a very fast swing speed.
Currently I use RPM blast strings on my aeroprodrive gt. However, I'm looking for some other strings because I've noticed that these strings do not give me what i'm looking for. I would try Luxilon ALU Power Rough first as it is the slightly more powerful of the two. It also offers better ball pocketing. A firm option would be ALU Power. The "Rough" comes from scooping out parts of the string surface, which in essence thins the gauge making the string softer feeling. Revenge is a very crisp and firm playing string and I would call it a low powered poly.

@tdjl9898 The AeroPro Drive and the Pure Drive are very similar racquets. I'd say, the only small difference is that the AeroPro Drive is a bit faster through the air thanks to the aero beam construction. Demo both to see which one is right for you!

Has Babolat updated the AeroPro Drive GT recently? If not do u guys know if they plan on doing it soon? I just dont want to buy one now if they will be releasing a newer version soon.
I've been playing with the APDC + for two years now, and really like the control and spin I can get with it. Most of my game is centered around long baseline rallies (I keep my opponent moving). String-wise I typically string with Hurricane Pro Tour @56lbs, or other similar shaped polys in a full bed, for extra bite and durability.
Would changing to the APDGT + make any real difference, since the two are pretty similar spec wise? I want to remain + sized, I love my two handed backhand.
I meant more from moving from the Cortex version to the GT version. Thank you for the quick response, and sorry about the confusion.
Sorry for missing that in your first question. The only difference between the Cortex and GT versions is feel. Most of our testers noted a slightly more solid feel at impact. For me, the GT versions feel a tad more dampened and the feel at contact is just slightly more muted. The Cortex feels slightly crisper whereas the feel from the GT is not as sharp edged, but more solid. Spin, power, maneuverability remained on par.
im looking for a tennis racquet that has lots of control, comfortable,and i dont care much about the power would you recommeded this racquet for me should i get head inegra speed or radical midplus please help
Depends on what you're looking to get out of the string. Did you want a soft or crisp feel? Do you have arm issues? Spin? Durability? Power? Comfort? With the vast amount of strings on the market, the more details in characteristics in what you're seeking, the easier it will be to narrow down some choices.
Polyester string in general are low powered, albeit there are some that offer good pop. RPM Blast does provide excellent access to spin, but with how stiff it is, will be low powered and won't offer the best comfort. A couple of polys that offer good comfort, spin as well as some pop, would be Topspin Cyber Flash, and pretty much any of the Polyfibre polys. I'm a big fan of Polyfibre TCS, though it does lose tension rather quickly.
BRAVO TENNIS WAREHOUSE...... you guys are WAY better than Tennis Express. You guys actualy take pride in what you tell the customer, insted of just reading a script. YOU GUYS ARE AWSOME!!!!!
It's difficult to say considering you don't say why that tension is bad for you, or what the previous string was. To lessen tension will add a little more pop, increased dwell time, and better spin potential. It will also be a little bit easier on the arm. But, again, it depends on what didn't work for you at 58lbs.
This rackets has a trap door in the buttcap, can I add lead or fishing weights inside the handle through that trap door?
I'm asking because as per TW instructions I suppose to remove grip and butt cap to add weights, that requires using staple gun and all that. I really wish I could just add weight using trap door.
I recently got this racket and i find that all of my shots are drives and have barely any spin. The tension on the string is 60lbs with pro hurricane tour. Is there anything i can do to get more spin on my shot?
Dropping tension a bit may help, but it sounds as if it may be your swing style more than anything as the racquet, string pattern and string choice are all good catalysts for spin. Swing speed also helps create more spin.
I use the babolat pure drive but lately i feel very unfomfortable. My friend uses this racket and i tried it out and i really felt much better with it. But, i want to know which raquet is better for hitting bigger groundstrokes and more control? Please answer back tennis warehouse!!!!!
what racket is the best for me i have a fast swing and full poly with tension that is 58 hurt my arm... and i use pure drive right now i dont feel enough power... thanks tennis warehouse.
Try switching to a softer multifilament string such as Babolat XCel. Keep the tension the same. The multi will give you both more power and more comfort. If you need to increase power and comfort more than that, simply lower tension and/or switch to natural gut.
Hi TW Team! From the last 2 years I've been using the KBlade Tour 93, and I've been dealing pretty well with it. Though recently Ive moved from the UK to Spain. I've started playing and practicing mostly on clay courts. Hence, I was looking for a racquet that could allow hitting my strokes with more spin and serves with a bit more pop. Im equating changing to the BLX Blade Tour,Aeropro Drive GT or PureDrive Roddick GT
I'm more of a baseline player with a good serve. Thank you for your attention
The main difference for me is feel. As far as spin, power and maneuverability are concerned, the two play similarly. The AeroPro Drive plays a tad crisper to me, whereas the Pure Drive open in its feel.
It is good and Rafa certainly slices well with the AeroPro Drive. Personally, I like racquets with a bit more weight for hitting slice as they knife through the ball better for me. That would be a very easy fix with this racquet by simply adding some lead tape, but even stock form, it is very spin-friendly. This is one of the best racquets I've hit for hitting big topspin groundstrokes.
The Team version is lighter and is faster feeling. It does not offer quite the pop of this one as it does not have as much weight to push through the ball. Both are very, very spin-friendly racquets. The regular AeroPro Drive GT is so light and fast feeling, I would not go to the lighter Team version unless you are a junior looking for your first adult racquet or a very small framed adult.
@brendan215 the aero storm tour gt is a control oriented racket with low power. So if your young and your not weak, you can generate your own power. As long as you have a fast full swing speed, you will like the babolat aero storm tour gt
its 6pts headlight when strung
11.9 ounces strung
21.5mm beam, so its a thinner beam then the aero pro drive gt
I have the aero pro drive gt and tested the aero storm tour gt and regeret buying the aero pro drive gt
Hi, I've only started looking at some of these reviews recently, and I need some advice. Since I was 13 I've played with a Prince Precision Approach Titanium which is 95sq in head size and has a strung weight of 12.1oz. I'm wanting to change to a BLX Tour, but some people have told me that I've already been playing with a racquet that's too heavy and that I should try something lighter. Is the BLX Tour something that I could easily transfer to from a heavy 95-head size Prince?
@CCFHymns blx tour is pretty good racket, I played with it and it wasn't that heavy. I think your thinking of the wilson blx six one tour. the blx tour is lighter then 12.1oz
We measured the balance @ 4pts Headlight, as stated on the spec page of this racquet. I don't know how others measure specs, but TW uses the Babolat RDC machine. We pull 4-6 racquets from the bin and measure each spec for each racquet (strung). We then will take the average of those specs, and that's what we publish on our spec page for each racquet. We feel this gives the most realistic playing specs for the consumer. Unless stated otherwise, all our specs are "strung" specs.
TW; What do you recommend for a 3.0 player who needs a control racquet. I am pretty good at producing my own power, but need to work with placing the ball where I want it. I prefer Babolat as it is the company I never got much chance to try.
@777daPIMP This AeroPro Drive racquet is a great choice. It has plenty of control and its a racquet you can grow into. Either this, or try the Babolat Pure Drive. They are very similar.
Hi TW, I have an aeropro drive and the strings recently broke. I was wondering at what tension should I string Revenge strings on them. I've heard they're stiff so i'm not sure if i should use them overall.
Hello, TW, I use this racquet along with two cortex aero pros, but I feel a need to switch off of babolat to just demo other racquets. I really like these specs, but wish to try out some others because these are the only racquets I have ever used. Do you have any suggestions??
huge topspin and incredible amount of power with the right stroke but doesn't have ANYWHERE NEAR the control as other sticks and trying to hit the corners just won't happen with this racket. At net its completely unstable and very difficult to put the volley DEEP and away. Overheads are great to hit with this racket serving is uncomfortable at first but overtime becomes a powerful shot with this racket. Kick serves are hard to "kick" with this too-- Just my opinion after almost 2 years with it.
@techn0pvd Get the aero storm tour gt. I sold my aero pro drive gt because it had a little to much power for me since I can generate my own power. Also the aero storm tour gt is heavier and more headlight, more stable when returning fast serves.
@aznboi1398 I actually demoed with different brands and settled on the Head Youtek Speed Pro. Definitely suits my game a lot better with the heavier and slightly smaller frame, thanks though!
@techn0pvd sorry to bother you, but when you say you used the racquet for two years, do you mean you have used the exact same racquet you bought two years ago or you mean its the only tennis racquet type you buy?? cuz i wanna know how often to change or buy a new racquet??
@ThePacemaker45 lol no bother at all. I used this same exact racquet and I owned 4 or 5 of them. Its better to have a backup racquet strung at the same tension as the first one so if during a match a string breaks, you don't have to get accustomed to a completely different feel in the middle of play. I don't like changing racquets because getting used to different models is too tedious so I research first different sticks then demo them in respect to my game type.dont abuse them and they'll last
@techn0pvd what about Rafa he seems to be able to hit the corners extremely well probably one of the best in the world at it but i guess he is the 2nd best player in the world so that probably has something to do with it
@badmanslayer04 and he uses the original aero pro could have a huge factor. Rafa hitting corners extremely well.... im gonna have to disagree on that. He does hit the corners occasionally but watch him play more on tv. he hits the ball more in the general direction, about shallow baseline with huge spin making the ball kick out the court. By hitting the corners, I mean "balls on"accurate, DEEP, hard strong winners getting either a winner or your opponents error. This racket cant give accuracy.
@techn0pvd But Tsonga also uses this racquet and he hits the corners very well. Rafa can super spin this thing, Tsonga can crack it flat and hard... I think it sounds like a great, versatile racquet.
@crampssss hmm... power comes with tension mostly but the racket type does help too. I've tried a lot and some I loved were the Prince Diablo (try both! there are two different versions of it) its a great racket that has great kick on 2nd serves. Head Youtek Radical Midplus is the overall all court racket that's really damn good from all areas of the court. and if you're a serious player try the Prince original graphite (both of them). A friend let me borrow his and its the definition of control
@Kristiansen23HD Demoed a bunch of rackets. Prince Diablo, Prince Diablo Tour, Prince Original Graphite, Head Youtek Speed MP 16x19, 16x20, and the Pro. And the Head Youtek Radical Pro. I ended up getting the the Head Youtek Speed Pro. Really good control, and when I hit with friends say I hit a really heavy and strong ball with the racket compared to this one. But you need good consistant strokes if you ever wanna use a heavy racket like it. It's 12.3 oz but really doesn't feel that heavy
@SgtHamster45 They both have their strengths. But if I were to pick, I'd go with the AeroPro Drive GT. This racquet provides great control but it still has plenty of power. It's probably a more versatile racquet than the Radical but the Radical offers nice feel and solid control. I recommend you demo both!
@SgtHamster45 If you're still wondering, MG Radical MP is much better IF you can go with nice strings. If not, like Jason said, you can never go wrong with the Aeropro
@utahutesguy This is a great choice. It is a very versatile racquet, easily enough for beginner players to use but still with enough weight and control that advanced players could use it as well. If you are wanting to try other racquets, because you want more control, look for racquets with a head light balance.
I commented on the Radical Pro video and i might leave some comments on other racquets to get your opinion. As i told im a PureDrive user. I was wondering what the differences were between the PureDrive and AeroPro. They have close to the same specs but what are the pros and cons?
@KavSol96 Power, spin, control, maneuverability are all pretty comparable. Because of the different beam shapes in the throat, the feel is whats different. I definitely recommend demo'ing both to see which of the racquets you prefer.
@tenniswarehouse hi. im looking to buy this racket with the RPM blast strings. but i hear that the blast strings lose tension very quickly. what string would you the RPM, pro hurricane or the xcel power?
@Jrim615 RPM Blast is a polyester string, which loses tension faster than multi-filament strings. XCel Power will feel different from RPM Blast but it will maintain tension better and give you more power.
@tenniswarehouse what about the pro hurricane? i like to get power and spin out of my shots. would you recommend the pro hurricane over the xcel power and RPM?
@Jrim615 If you want more power, I'd go with the XCel Power. RPM Blast will give you more spin than the Pro Hurricane or the XCel Power. Pro Hurricane is a stiffer feeling string that is great for durability.
You'll be able to hit a bigger, heavier ball with the Roddick due to its increased weight and stiffness. The Aeropro Drive would offer better maneuverability, but at your size it should not be an issue with the Roddick.
I played with both the cortex and the gt and the gt has more solid feel and I feel like I get more spin potential and power from gt. Cortex is still good if you wanna save some money and not get the gt
@tenniswarehouse i have one last question. i have found a store where they have a small amount of aeropro drive cortex racquets available. i hear that they have good control. what would be the better choice for me? to recap, i have an eastern grip for my forehand and i can generate a lot of topspin on it. i have a topspin backhand that i frequently flatten out and my serve is quite powerful for my size. i currently use the pure drive gt but want a bit more control. which racquet would be better?
This racquet would be a very solid choice. It offers enough power and forgiveness to help you enjoy hitting right away. It also provides enough control for advanced players so you wont have to worry about outgrowing the racquet as your skills improve. I would recommend going with Babolat XCel Premium 16 string at 55lbs as a starting set up.
can anyone tell me the diffrrence between the aero storm gt and the pure storm gt? ive got a tourament in about 3 weeks and id like to have a new frame by then.
Hi TW
I dont understand the differences between strings, I play with the Aeropro drive GT, what is the best string for me( I'm 14, 65kg, 175cm)
Thanks

For me, the GT versions feel a tad more dampened and the feel at contact is just slightly more muted. The Cortex feels slightly crisper whereas the feel from the GT is not as sharp edged, but more solid. Spin, power, maneuverability remained on par.

Thank you, that is very helpful. I'll probably demo the GT some time, to see if the feel is a bonus.

what strings would you recommend?
PureDrive888 4 months ago
@PureDrive888
Depends on what you're looking to get out of the string. Did you want a soft or crisp feel? Do you have arm issues? Spin? Durability? Power? Comfort? With the vast amount of strings on the market, the more details in characteristics in what you're seeking, the easier it will be to narrow down some choices.
Spencer, TW.
tenniswarehouse 4 months ago
@tenniswarehouse power, comfort and spin. i have the RPM blast sting at the moment but when i hit, there is no power even though i put power on it.
PureDrive888 4 months ago
@PureDrive888
I'm a big fan of Polyfibre TCS, though it does lose tension rather quickly.

im getting this racket and hurricane feel tomm but what tension should i get it at cuz 58lbs was bad for me so im thinking 55, 54? any suggestions
aimfreakify 5 months ago
@aimfreakify
It's difficult to say considering you don't say why that tension is bad for you, or what the previous string was. To lessen tension will add a little more pop, increased dwell time, and better spin potential. It will also be a little bit easier on the arm. But, again, it depends on what didn't work for you at 58lbs.

Hi
This rackets has a trap door in the buttcap, can I add lead or fishing weights inside the handle through that trap door?
I'm asking because as per TW instructions I suppose to remove grip and butt cap to add weights, that requires using staple gun and all that. I really wish I could just add weight using trap door.
denisonn 5 months ago
I recently got this racket and i find that all of my shots are drives and have barely any spin. The tension on the string is 60lbs with pro hurricane tour. Is there anything i can do to get more spin on my shot?
PurifiedPulse 5 months ago
@PurifiedPulse
Dropping tension a bit may help, but it sounds as if it may be your swing style more than anything as the racquet, string pattern and string choice are all good catalysts for spin. Swing speed also helps create more spin.

aimfreakify 5 months ago in playlist Equipment
@aimfreakify,
Try switching to a softer multifilament string such as Babolat XCel.

Thank you for your attention

botakchee 5 months ago

The main difference for me is feel. As far as spin, power and maneuverability are concerned, the two play similarly. The AeroPro Drive plays a tad crisper to me, whereas the Pure Drive open in its feel.

eew64059 6 months ago
@eew64059,
It is good and Rafa certainly slices well with the AeroPro Drive.
Chris, TW

Could u guys please give some diff btw the Aeropro Drive GT and Aeropro Team GT. A lot of details would be nice...Thank you
11m0 6 months ago
@11m0,
The Team version is lighter and is faster feeling.
Hope that helps,

@aznboi1398 Why's that? I already got this racket but i havn't tested it yet. Let me see the specs of it.
brendan215 6 months ago

CCFHymns 6 months ago
@CCFHymns blx tour is pretty good racket, I played with it and it wasn't that heavy. I think your thinking of the wilson blx six one tour. the blx tour is lighter then 12.1oz

Can I get a clear response from you,
What is the Head light on this racket?.
(Don't tell me to check your website, trust me I've checked already)
It's just that your Head light information is different from Tennisexpress. So I'm deeply confused, and I need to know the Head light before I buy it
brendan215 7 months ago
@brendan215

Jason, TW
tenniswarehouse 7 months ago
huge topspin and incredible amount of power with the right stroke but doesn't have ANYWHERE NEAR the control as other sticks and trying to hit the corners just won't happen with this racket. At net its completely unstable and very difficult to put the volley DEEP and away. Overheads are great to hit with this racket serving is uncomfortable at first but overtime becomes a powerful shot with this racket. Kick serves are hard to "kick" with this too-- Just my opinion after almost 2 years with it.
techn0pvd 7 months ago 9
@techn0pvd Get the aero storm tour gt. I sold my aero pro drive gt because it had a little to much power for me since I can generate my own power. Also the aero storm tour gt is heavier and more headlight, more stable when returning fast serves.
aznboi1398 6 months ago
@aznboi1398 I actually demoed with different brands and settled on the Head Youtek Speed Pro. Definitely suits my game a lot better with the heavier and slightly smaller frame, thanks though!

@techn0pvd nice thats a good racket, my brother uses the head youtek ig speed 18x20
aznboi1398 6 months ago
@techn0pvd sorry to bother you, but when you say you used the racquet for two years, do you mean you have used the exact same racquet you bought two years ago or you mean its the only tennis racquet type you buy?? cuz i wanna know how often to change or buy a new racquet??
ThePacemaker45 6 months ago
@ThePacemaker45 lol no bother at all. I used this same exact racquet and I owned 4 or 5 of them. Its better to have a backup racquet strung at the same tension as the first one so if during a match a string breaks, you don't have to get accustomed to a completely different feel in the middle of play. I don't like changing racquets because getting used to different models is too tedious so I research first different sticks then demo them in respect to my game type.dont abuse them and they'll last
techn0pvd 6 months ago
@techn0pvd thanks!!
ThePacemaker45 6 months ago
@techn0pvd what about Rafa he seems to be able to hit the corners extremely well probably one of the best in the world at it but i guess he is the 2nd best player in the world so that probably has something to do with it
badmanslayer04 6 months ago
@badmanslayer04 and he uses the original aero pro could have a huge factor. Rafa hitting corners extremely well.... im gonna have to disagree on that. He does hit the corners occasionally but watch him play more on tv. he hits the ball more in the general direction, about shallow baseline with huge spin making the ball kick out the court. By hitting the corners, I mean "balls on"accurate, DEEP, hard strong winners getting either a winner or your opponents error. This racket cant give accuracy.
techn0pvd 6 months ago
@techn0pvd But Tsonga also uses this racquet and he hits the corners very well. Rafa can super spin this thing, Tsonga can crack it flat and hard... I think it sounds like a great, versatile racquet.
hawaiidispenser 5 months ago
@hawaiidispenser then try it out. its MY opinion on the racket after using it for a long time.
techn0pvd 5 months ago
@techn0pvd So what racquet do you recommend for more control but has good power?
crampssss 6 months ago
@crampssss hmm... power comes with tension mostly but the racket type does help too. I've tried a lot and some I loved were the Prince Diablo (try both! there are two different versions of it) its a great racket that has great kick on 2nd serves. Head Youtek Radical Midplus is the overall all court racket that's really damn good from all areas of the court. and if you're a serious player try the Prince original graphite (both of them). A friend let me borrow his and its the definition of control
techn0pvd 6 months ago
@techn0pvd what raquet did you change too given that you weren't happy with this one?
Kristiansen23HD 5 months ago
@Kristiansen23HD Demoed a bunch of rackets. Prince Diablo, Prince Diablo Tour, Prince Original Graphite, Head Youtek Speed MP 16x19, 16x20, and the Pro. And the Head Youtek Radical Pro. I ended up getting the the Head Youtek Speed Pro. Really good control, and when I hit with friends say I hit a really heavy and strong ball with the racket compared to this one. But you need good consistant strokes if you ever wanna use a heavy racket like it. It's 12.3 oz but really doesn't feel that heavy
techn0pvd 5 months ago
@techn0pvd Rafa seems to hit the corners occasionally...

@tenniswarehouse hi. im looking to buy this racket with the RPM blast strings. but i hear that the blast strings lose tension very quickly. what string would you the RPM, pro hurricane or the xcel power?
Jrim615 9 months ago
@Jrim615 RPM Blast is a polyester string, which loses tension faster than multi-filament strings. XCel Power will feel different from RPM Blast but it will maintain tension better and give you more power.
Jason, TW
tenniswarehouse 9 months ago
@tenniswarehouse what about the pro hurricane? i like to get power and spin out of my shots. would you recommend the pro hurricane over the xcel power and RPM?
Jrim615 9 months ago
@Jrim615 If you want more power, I'd go with the XCel Power. RPM Blast will give you more spin than the Pro Hurricane or the XCel Power. Pro Hurricane is a stiffer feeling string that is great for durability.

Chris, which would you choose? Babolat Pure Drive Roddick or this one. Im 6.2 and i like to play with top spin and power
Marka9111 10 months ago
@Marka9111,
You'll be able to hit a bigger, heavier ball with the Roddick due to its increased weight and stiffness. The Aeropro Drive would offer better maneuverability, but at your size it should not be an issue with the Roddick.

@TheKEYist,
This racquet would be a very solid choice. It offers enough power and forgiveness to help you enjoy hitting right away.
