I always figured that KidA was the one that they worked the hardest on. By the sounds of the clip here, I could be right.

I don't get why KidA gets labelled as pretentious or self-concious in a bad sense. As far as I'm concerned both of those attributes are good things in music. It's literally impossible not to be either of those things when your sitting in front of an amplifying mixing board. It's about making sounds that indicate feelings... If you have a problem with that, stick to folk.

@MrFreedomGotAnAK No one's hating on it, it's just less original than their other albums. It's my least favorite Radiohead album, but I still love it.

I think Radiohead's best work came after Ok Computer, The Bends had a few gems and Ok Computer had a few more than The Bends did but they didn't really hit their stride until Kid A.

I don't really class Radiohead albums, cuz then, I feel guilty of letting the other Albums that I didin't put on the top, but I have to say that The Bends, and Ok Computer has to be the top ones, they're the ones who made the greatest hits, yes, Pablo Honey is great, but not as great as what they did after. (I hate the song creep, cuz everytime people hears the name Radiohead, they automatically think of creep) and then, I can't class the other albums, just like you don't class your underwears.

@LSchlotfledt the band has stated they were not happy with HTTT, I agree, it's too bloated and unfocused. Some good tracks, but overall it falls short especially when it's competing with timeless classics like Ok computer and Kid A, or even the bends.

Yeah, I mean, I guess it depends on the studio. Besides, a lot of the better mics are hard to find, especially with a good ribbon and a diaphragm that isn't shot, and prior to things like eBay, who knows how hard they were to dig up. Recently he used a Neumann U57, which are pretty pricey, and a 47, I believe, before that. Those rarely turn up in any market, so...

But who knows, I guess. So many factors go into all that. Engineering all that must be overwhelming at times.
