He was fucked up for about a week but started talking and making sense about 16 hours later. He has a job and is fine. No such thing as perma-fry.

Perhaps, it's more due to troubling life experiences, such as his parent's divorce and subsequently his father's suicide, which in turn led him down a path of destruction. So, feebly-minded as he was, the drugs probably didn't "release" his mind, but in fact twisted it more. I'm of the mind that people should try drugs if they want. I don't see the harm in trying things as long as it's not by force.
I have a friend who's taken many many hits of acid, and he supposedly entered this so-called "black hole". He is pretty fucked up, I think it has more to do with coke and other uppers, not so much acid. However, I was there one time when he was coming off about 6 hits of acid, and he told me he had a spot in his vision. I don't know how many he's done in his life, but he's out there. Personally, I've taken 3 or 4 hits in my life, and I know it changed the way I think, but I'd say for the better.
The point is, my mum has Bipolar disorder, and I've heard that it can be hereditary in some cases, in the sense that I've inherited my mum's sensitivity, so can be susceptible to psychosis. I've had bad paranoia from weed, but it's faded now I've stopped smoking. What do you suggest? Maybe psychedelics aren't for me. Tough decision, as I've had some incredible experiences.

If your current life situation and your mental state make you feel down, when you're on weed, get your life back together, before you do LSD. NOT because you will get a "horror trip" with a probability of X% (where X is a numbre near 100).....that's not true. Every person reacts different on it, but you could diminish the chance of having a bad time with and after the drug.
Try it in a few years, when you're feeling better = )

Incredible, incredible experience, but realise afterwards that doing that much first time has possibly given me bad emotional effects, thoughts, and possibly some sort of brain damage). They're both psychedelics, but obv. very different from lsd...
i tripped for 5+ days straight at some music festivals.. would take 4ish doses the first day/night, then doubling (if not tripling) my dose every next consecutive day. took about a total of 90+ in a span of 5 days. ya it was intense/spiritual/AWESOME, but i only felt a little funky for a day or two after i drove back home..
and that isnt including the DANK molly and other random festi goodies we stumbled upon..
in conclusion: everybody's body reacts differently

And in urine or blood, it's measurable for about 2-4 days according to your metabolic function ; )

@HLGStrength No. It's been proven time and again that cigarette smoke is many times more harmful. Weed is no worse than alcohol in _any_ way at all. Alcohol is worse (in my opinion) because it makes people violent. Ever seen a violent stoner? They think about violence, and then get distracted by cookies. :P
You also can't OD on weed, you'll just fall to sleep, unlike something like alcohol which you can die from.

I think when you take a lot of drugs it causes you to have a different perspective of the universe when you're sober. I wouldn't consider it permanently fried.
Maybe it was good acid but I can tell you the shrooms I've done have done more damage than the acid. Then again the first time I did shrooms I ate over 12 grams. I find I get more high when I smoke weed now, and sometimes I see things warp and bend. If there are multiple objects that look similar close together they will blend together and sway or even produce mild tracers but usually not unless I've gotten in to the rum. I can honestly say hallucinatory insight has made my life better.

I have taken over a thousand hits of LSD. There is no truth to that claim. I am currently an honor student pursuing my masters degree. Although I no longer take any drug, my past drug use does not affect my future state of mind. However, you must know that most prosecutors will argue that voluntary intoxication is not a defense for any crime. Don't try it, you will lose.

About the perma trip flash back subject I've only tripped once, stuff still moves like it's stretching in space, it happens when I dead stare at the road in an intersection or look at any kind of door head on. Me and my friend were doing a spiritual journey and it was his first time trying LSD, he thought each dropper full was one hit so he took about 5 of them. Around 3 days later he was a little stressed the fuck out but other than that he said it was the single most intense time of his life. He never did anything like that again but it didn't mess him up any, he carried on about his life as normal. Well a bit more spiritual but normal still.
also what can happen is not only trigger psychosis but people who used lsd on a frequent basis that never went crazy their first few time eventually ended up with psychosis after abusing lsd for many years
I think the reasoning of the flash backs thing is people claimed it happened to all the vietnam soldier's, chances are it was the actual war that caused the flashbacks, not the lsd. Of course they were on lsd during the war so the flashbacks are similar to a trip? Thats my take anyway.

@gregsimson Bi-Polar disorder is a very serious mental illness, although it is highly over diagnosed. I would not recommend taking LSD. If you do... you should probably think about having a benzodiazepine near by... your predisposition to paranoia puts you at serious risk of a bad, bad trip.
Permentantly "fryed" could mean anything, I do feel somewhat high naturally now after using lsd and mushrooms, but that is more myself and not the drugs I've taken. It's also not bad at all.
Re Flashbacks... I think they happen, but as a micro trip. I've had those where I'd see something, Colors, that taste in the back of your throat, slow motion effect, Trailer's etc I've had all the above years after but they last only a second and are so brief I have to ask myself if it actually happened, do you think you have ever had a micro trip?
Wait till your 40 or 50yrs old. You will feel the after effects of LSD. You may look back on this video wondering who that guy was. I firmly believe that I have vertigo due to LSD. Then again, it could have been all the other drugs I was taking in between lol. (JOKE?)

From the age of 16 to about 22 I figure I must have taken in the area of 800-900 hits. At the peak of my use I was tripping every 3 or 4 days and took 5-10 hits at a time. I tried to trip 2 days in a row and it didn't work too well. I took 2 hits one day and took about 5 or 6 the next day and i felt it a little but it wasn't a real trip. Just sort of buzzy.

If you mix LSD and E, then years or maybe even days after taking the drug. due to the E and its effects on the spine. LSD remains in your spinal cord, and if you crack your neck because you feel stiff or sore or whatever, you will/might have a flashback. I know because ive seen it happen to my stepdad

On flashbacks: Yes, they are real but not for the reason people think. It's basically like this: you can have flashbacks from any kind of intense experience, LSD can be a very life changing experience so it's only natural that someone may bring it back to the forefront of their mind. Having flashbacks from a bad trip is the same concept as having PTSD from war or being raped or something. Also, flashbacks are not always bad. A few people I know described acid flashbacks as "fun" and "pleasant".

I know what you mean, I had a friend who just after high school lost his girlfriend, so he attempted to kill himself by taking 40 hits. He didn't die, he thought he was going to but he didn't. He got pretty philosophical and prophetic, after about a week of his bullshit we ran him off. A couple of years later I bumped into him at Wal-Mart and he was fine. He told me that things were pretty messed up for him for about a month but the peak lasted for about the same amount of time as you said.

one time when i fried with my friends we all had muscle cramps in our legs and jaw, a matalic taste in our mouth and a nails on chalkboard type feeling when we touched cirtan thing (like a bottle cap) and my one friend said it was because of the Strychnine they use in the making of lsd and that they didn't get it all out of the acid we had.

Maybe it was good acid but I can tell you the shrooms I've done have done more damage than the acid. Then again the first time I did shrooms I ate over 12 grams. I find I get more high when I smoke weed now, and sometimes I see things warp and bend. If there are multiple objects that look similar close together they will blend together and sway or even produce mild tracers but usually not unless I've gotten in to the rum. I can honestly say hallucinatory insight has made my life better.

I have taken over a thousand hits of LSD. There is no truth to that claim. I am currently an honor student pursuing my masters degree. Although I no longer take any drug, my past drug use does not affect my future state of mind. However, you must know that most prosecutors will argue that voluntary intoxication is not a defense for any crime. Don't try it, you will lose.

I had a buddy that went through well over a sheet of syd, you remind me of him. It may be that your eye movements and hand gestures are similar. But ya, he's not crazy, preety clever fella even. About the perma trip flash back subject I've only tripped once, stuff still moves like it's stretching in space, it happens when I dead stare at the road in an intersection or look at any kind of door head on. Me and my friend were doing a spiritual journey and it was his first time trying LSD, he thought each dropper full was one hit so he took about 5 of them. Around 3 days later he was a little stressed the fuck out but other than that he said it was the single most intense time of his life. He never did anything like that again but it didn't mess him up any, he carried on about his life as normal. Well a bit more spiritual but normal still.

@gregsimson Bi-Polar disorder is a very serious mental illness, although it is highly over diagnosed. I would not recommend taking LSD. If you do... you should probably think about having a benzodiazepine near by... your predisposition to paranoia puts you at serious risk of a bad, bad trip.

Re Flashbacks... I think they happen, but as a micro trip. I've had those where I'd see something, Colors, that taste in the back of your throat, slow motion effect, Trailer's etc I've had all the above years after but they last only a second and are so brief I have to ask myself if it actually happened, do you think you have ever had a micro trip?

@visdda It probably depends on brain chemistry and who you are. I've taken between 80 and 100 hits (haven't done it for over 20 years though) but I've never had flashbacks, couldn't even tell you what they are
On the other hand, my brother's done about the same and he says he has occasional flashbacks
I was able to drive fine on LSD, my brother couldn't do it though
He could drive fine after huge bong hits but I'd be running red lights and stop signs if I tried to drive baked

From the age of 16 to about 22 I figure I must have taken in the area of 800-900 hits. At the peak of my use I was tripping every 3 or 4 days and took 5-10 hits at a time. I tried to trip 2 days in a row and it didn't work too well. I took 2 hits one day and took about 5 or 6 the next day and i felt it a little but it wasn't a real trip. Just sort of buzzy.

If you mix LSD and E, then years or maybe even days after taking the drug. due to the E and its effects on the spine. LSD remains in your spinal cord, and if you crack your neck because you feel stiff or sore or whatever, you will/might have a flashback. I know because ive seen it happen to my stepdad

On flashbacks: Yes, they are real but not for the reason people think. It's basically like this: you can have flashbacks from any kind of intense experience, LSD can be a very life changing experience so it's only natural that someone may bring it back to the forefront of their mind. Having flashbacks from a bad trip is the same concept as having PTSD from war or being raped or something. Also, flashbacks are not always bad. A few people I know described acid flashbacks as "fun" and "pleasant".

Okay so about flashbacks. Im not like... a "veteran" like you... but i have a little bit of experience. I think its different for everyone. My "flashbacks" have been limited to very fleeting distortions. Oh that wall breathed like one time. Okay cool. Done. And it only happens like the week after or whatever. Barely noticeable. I know what you mean, I had a friend who just after high school lost his girlfriend, so he attempted to kill himself by taking 40 hits. He didn't die, he thought he was going to but he didn't. He got pretty philosophical and prophetic, after about a week of his bullshit we ran him off. A couple of years later I bumped into him at Wal-Mart and he was fine. He told me that things were pretty messed up for him for about a month but the peak lasted for about the same amount of time as you said.
